Daves fat loss diary

I'm going to be to be updating this diary once every week with my new measurements but will obviously answer any questions in between.

Well, I'm not used to being this public so I'm just going to answer the questions straight out of the "Welcome to the Journals/Diaries at WLF" sticky

Right, so, from the start:

I want to lose 53 pounds of fat.

My time frame is 6 months.

I'm going to be eating healthy, doing 30 minutes cardio or 30 minutes resistance training every day (alternating) with Sundays off.

The only person who will be supporting me will be me. i have a fiance that lives with me and she is all for me losing the weight but she isn't a supportive type. not a negative just an observation.

Think my goal is fairly realistic as a target BUT to me personally it will be extremely challenging.

And finally I started yesterday.

I will be posting this next bit in all my entries.

my current measurements (the bit you've all been waiting for :)).

General stuff
Age: 26
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 235 pounds (16st and 11pds)
BMI: 30.16

measurements:
Waist: 41"
Stomach: 45.5"
Chest: 45"
Upper arm: 14.25"
neck: 17.5"
thigh: 27.5"

Feelings:
Right now I'm a mixture of feelings, i feel like if i can carry on as i have the past 2 days I'm all good but i know that i have a tendency to lose interest in projects if i miss even a single day. think the moral of the story is i gotta hit this hard, not miss any days, keep going and make sure i keep up this diary.

Any questions ask away, itll make me feel like people are paying attention. :D

oh and also, I'm going to be doing a video diary, is it allowed that i post up links to that or is that against forum rules? thanks, Dave.

No. As a new member you can't post links and even when you can, it can't be to blogs - video or otherwise

ooooo St.Helens? :D Im originally from Wigan, although im living in Manchester now. Wanna wish you all the best :D

Hi Dave, Just thought I'd drop in to say hi. I commented on your post about feeling sick while dieting. I hope you do well. Keep posting here. I'll drop by to see how your doing.

Week 1

Week 1

Well here we are, end of week one, i don't feel like i have lost any weight at all and although have been eating more healthily, have only just finished clearing the cupboards of sweats, biscuits, white bread, breakfast cereals, cheese etc so am not overly expectant for this weigh in. i have done ALOT more exercise this past week than i usually do including jogging three times, using the Xbox 360 Kinect your shape game five times, used my EMS belt three times and have done light dumbbell training twice.

most of the exercise (bar the jogging) has been muscle building rather than fat burning so again not expecting much in the way of weight loss.

Anyway here goes nothing

my current measurements (the bit you've all been waiting for ).
Red is the difference from last weeks measurements

General stuff:
Age: 26
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 237.6 pounds (16st and 13.6pds) - (+2.6pds)
BMI: 30.5 - (+0.34)

Measurements:
Waist: 41" - (0")
Stomach: 42.5" - (-3")
Chest: 43" - (-2")
Upper arm: 14.5" - (+0.25")
Neck: 17" - (-0.5")
Thigh: 27.25" - (-0.25")

Feelings:
Surprise and confusion, I'm not sure what I have done, I'm quite proud of the inch loss and quite confused at the weight gain. I've heard that the weight of muscle is higher than the weight of fat, so that would explain it but I don't feel that I have gained much in the way of muscle at all. though i suppose it could be hiding under the fat :D

Anyway, I'm not taking anything from this week as conclusive i think it will be week 3 at least before i start drawing any of those.

This weeks plan/what will be done differently:
Eat healthier, now that all the rubbish is gone out of the cupboards i don't have an excuse. I'm hoping for considerably better weight reduction this week, wish me luck

Oh and a big thanks for the support so far, i really, really do appreciate it, its what keeps me going :)
