database of personal trainers

I'm trying to gauge whether there is any interest in creating an online database of personal trainers. This would serve as a resource for those seeking a trainer. I already have the website, which currently only contains considerations and links that are useful when looking for a trainer. I would like to add the database to the website, which would be updateable by trainers. I would like to include at a minimum, name, area served, certifications, specialty, bio, where you are available to train, and perhaps a headshot. This service would be free to trainers for them to add their listing.
The website url is .

That sounds really helpful. But you are looking at a 1,000's of gigs of server space. Implementation would be hard as hell, and the initial investment would be great. If you could conquer all of those obstacles, I think you can have a Google Adwords hot spot.

um, no you would need anything CLOSE to thousands of gigs. i have an 80 million record database on this computer right now and it takes up a little under 750 MB. which is less than 1 gig.

well i dont really feel like arguing but ive been writing and developing web based, database driven, enterprise level applications for the past 5 years, and ive never encountered any of my clients needing anything CLOSE to that amount of space.

I agree.

Unless you are story binary blobs in the database -- you would never even get remotely close to that amount.

I say build it!

I'm a personal trainer from Bathurst Australia. I am all for a locate a trainer site. I currently conduct workshops and am available for booking to speak, I do outdoor fitness and my primary focus is online training. I have just started a site specialising in difficults exercise situations such as, lack of time, no equipment, physical limitations, pregnancy etc, I am also quite adept in martial arts conditioning. Check it out and let me know if it's worthy of such a database.
Cheers, Chris.

This is getting borderline addvertisement... I'll prob close it later, unless people get the links out and keep it at a discussion.
