Remember it doesn't take much to stimulate maintenance of CV health. A handful of light sessions per week in the 20-30 minute range. Personally I usually stick to 20.

If you're going to be offsetting your CV bouts with calories, that means the only reason you're doing them is to maintain CV health. So you could stand to trim those down a bit if you ask me.... unless you enjoy eating that much more calories to the extent that it warrants running the additional amount. For me, I hate cardio personally, so I'd rather just cut the handful of chips out, lol. Not in all cases, but in most that's what I do.

Hah... see, I didn't even replace my calories with chips! I replaced it with strawberry's and a bag of popcorn. Do you realize how fucking much 100 calories of strawberries is?! Insane man...

I do like cardio, so yesterday was nice to get outside and run a few miles (about 3). I'd prefer actually running so I can snack at night... Amazing what you can do with 200 calories:

150 grams of strawberries (50 calories)
46 grams of angel food cake from ACME (120 calories)
30 grams of FF Reddi Whip (30 calories)

That my friend is a nice treat for me... BTW, I still had somewhere close to 450 calories left in the day to eat, that is when a bowl of Kashi Go lean w/ a handful of peanuts and a bag of popcorn followed by another 50 calories of strawberries came in.
 
Yea, I rarely resort to chips. I never don't have fresh fruit in my fridge. Actually, I make a bowl of diced fruit each week. A huge one that contains watermelon, grapes, strawberries, and blueberries. I love that stuff all mixed together.

For some they can get away with all the running.

Me, not so much. I have a hard time putting on muscle when I run more then the bare bone minimum.
 
See, I don't know what is going to happen with me... I should probably avoid the running since I don't know how I put on weight (I mean, I was fat, but that was due to my style of eating in the past). I don't want the running to interfere with my muscle building routine. I guess that was my biggest concern, not the calorie offset... but will doing CV break down muscle or prevent me from making big gains.

If you're doing 2-3 sessions a week at a light intensity for 45 minutes you'll be fine more than likely.

Especially with proper nutrition and strength training.

Hot damn... I almost feel like I can pass for someone who is physically fit :-D

2-3 times a week for a 3 mile jog is 3-4 times less than I did while in a cut... I just need to remember to eat probably 200-300 calories more for the day (which should be good for a 35-40 minute jog)... darn, that's going to be hard to remember to eat MORE <rolls eyes>. Pretty soon, I might have to think about taking a trip to Chickie's and Pete's for dinner...

Yesterday my quads were so sore. I haven't been sore in AGES (well from a workout at least)... Forgot what that was all like... today is upper (chest w/ emphasis on press).

Oddly enough, nothing else looks bigger on me, except my chest. Weird.

I havent seen ACME's in years... the silly things to miss about new jersey.. stores thatget referenced in Roadrunner cartoons :D

I love that store, I am in there 3 times a week. Easily. Going in today for some shredded lettuce and salsa.

My day off wasn't enough to even quell the tenderness... I am glad as can be that today is a chest day. Wasn't sure how far I'd get through if it were legs again ;)

Foam rolling is DEF in the agenda today. I am going to squeal like a bitch...

I dunno... sometimes when I do cool down at 3.5 it's too slow for me, but that could be perspective from coming off a 7.5-8.0 mph run. So, 4.0 might be TOO fast in reality.

Maybe I can coax you out with a Take 5 bar?!
 
my hair smells like coconut though.. that's kinda like a mounds bar - or an almond joy -

sometimes you feel like a nut - sometimes tou don't :D
