Damn the winter! Up 30 pounds, going down.

Over the past two years, I have lost a ton of weight. Going from 274 pounds to 184 at my lowest. Most of my excercise came through the outdoors and biking. Since this winter, I have gained almost 30 pounds already, and going up extremely fast! I have not been making any efforts to control my eating and 0 exercise!

I used one of these diaries on this website a year or two ago which helped a great deal. I really just need to get back into a healthy lifestyle because I know more than most people how uncomfortable it is not to be!

I'm up to 220 pounds right now. My short term goal is to get down to 210, and long term is to get to 285 again. I will be eating mindfully 300 calories every 3 hours, eating a variety of foods, and going to start out with just taking my dog to the dog park for an hour each 3-5 times a week. Because shes getting fat from the winter too :p

Anyway, off to the dog park. I'll try to update this as often as I can.

I just wanted to say hi, it's great that you seperate you goals into short time goal. I am trying to lose 60lb myself and it is a bit scary too look at the big picture i should do the same! Great plan, with the 300 calories several times a day that way you don't go hungry. I am not saying good luck cause luck as nothing to do with weight lost. Just work hard and enjoy the rewards!!!!
 
Welcome back! I am trying to lose quite a bit too... The winter is rough because I just want to hibernate :) I have switched to eating smaller meals through out the day, and it really seems to be working! Cheers!
 
Thanks guys ! :) It was really fun to see two people had responded.

Yesterday wasn't so good, but it wasn't so bad I guess. The eating part was a disaster. I started substituting my 3 hour interval calories for earlier in the day. So I ate like 600 right away and said I just wouldnt eat at 10pm, then kept doing that. So my last meal I could have ate was at 4pm. I got home from a long night class and wasn't suppose to eat, and I was just like screw it. And ate a LOT. Oops. Oh well, I'll just have to be sure to save calories for night time because that is the time I usually want to eat the most.

Overall though I had a great day. I took my dog on a two hour long walk through a gorgeous park we have here. We took the trail that I usually bike in the summer, which is almost 5 miles long! It was so cool to see it all in the winter, the 2 hours it took to walk flew by. My dog was exhausted and so was I by the end. I got back and me and my roommate binge cleaned my house for 3 hours and then I went to my favorite class. After all that fun and good producity end is when I ate my good feeling away :p.

I just asked my dog (she's a black lab named Lilly by the way) if she was up for another walk and now shes sitting here moaning at me. So I think we are going to head out for a much smaller walk, I hope it's as nice as yesterday!
 
I like to eat bigger meals t night too... I just try to not go to sleep right afterwards... which is sometimes very hard!

I have a half black lab, and he is pretty old... I take him on my walks with me and he is usually lagging back behind me about 50 feet.. the first mile is ok, but then he just dawdles... I keep having to stop and wait for him to catch up... probably going to have to stop taking him with me pretty soon, which I am NOT looking forward to... Poor old guy!

Ahhh thats sad! I just had to put my first dog to sleep two weeks ago. It was awful, my black lab is turning 7 this July. I feel like I just got him.

I tried doing the 6 mini meals a day but I can't do it. What I do is usally bigger meals with small snacks in between, and after diner no more eating, I have kids so it's easy until 8 pm with the bath times and bedtimes I am so busy I don't even have time to be hungry but as soon as they are asleep food starts calling to me, that is when I start to clean the house fold laundry or exercise so I don't eat, by 9:30 I go to bed so I don't eat, on the night I do cave in I try to stick to fruits or raw vegies, so at least it is not greasy food with tones of cals.

Thanks for the tip! Yeah, I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to do this 300 calorie every 3 hours either. I never feel satisfied. I love eating super large amounts. I just ate 600 calories for breakfast :X. I usually go to bed pretty late and my time at night is just for me to relax, and food is always on my mind during that time! I kinda screwed up again last night.
