Damn elbow joint messing with my workout

I just started up at the gym and went 2 times last week, and once on Monday.
I worked out my upper body, and I dont think I overdid anything, just had some mild aches.
Thing is, my left elbow has been a bit "clicky" for as long as I remember but its causing irritation today and yesterday Its just a click halfway through bending it fully.
It doesnt really hurt its just annoying.
Ive started taking fish oil daily - 1 Gram, and I dont lock any joints when I am exercising - any other good advice for looking after joints while weight training?

From my experience I would say: becarfull to don't overstrech your elbows, especially in the pressing movements with DBs. Also increase your weights slowly. And try to do all your exercises with good form. I've injured my right elbow because of Bench Pressing with DBs with an excessive Range Of Movement (I used to go lower than chest level). A safe rule is to don't go with DBs lower than with the BB...
Good Luck!

thanks for that mate. I think its the transition between no weights and going in and doing 2 sets on a lot of machine with some free weights thrown in. Im going to cut back on my next workout and build up slowly, mustnt rush this thing!
I definately didnt use too much movement as it was too uncomfortable, I think Ill just take it real slow.
thanks again man!

Yes the slow way is the safest way :)
One more thing, I don't no if you already do this, but try to do at least one warm-up set with more or less 50% of the weight you are working (with the same form and speed that you do with your working set).
Happy training!

I had't considered that, but it sounds like a really good idea. I will try it out next time I go to the gym.
cheers :)
