I mentioned it before, and Sam reminded me because he ALSO has a hommie who is an aspiring photographer: my friend Lucciana is going to the San Francisco Art College at the Oakland extension, and I've been meaning to take pictures with her before! But schedules and all....it never happened. It was supposed to take place on my birthday. She's back in school, so SOON-ISH she will "work me into" a project.

We have a number of ideas for me, and I'm excited for a cool photo shoot. Here's some of her work: (I know all the models personally [and they're NOT models by profession, just our friends] except "Billy")

Those are awesome pics Valerie. I love black and white pics... I love real and raw pictures... My friend I always rave about on here is actually a hair stylist... He has friends that are great photographers that take his model's pics... I do have a few friends that are currently studying photography in college. It's such an amazing form of art, imo. I took photography in highschool for 2 years and loved it. I can't really draw, or paint but, taking the perfect photograph, or at least an awesome one can almost happen by accident... Capturing a specific moment in time, etc, can be so powerful and brilliant, imo... I don't really take pictures anymore but have been wanting to get back into it...

It's so much fun to shoot people who aren't professional models. Just the average person or friend. Sometimes you can create this photograph that is so astounding, and it really means something to the person who is in it because they aren't used to it, or maybe didn't know what they were capable of....

Yes, Sam! Get back into taking pictures, I love it myself! Now I remember--hair stylist, got it! Are we going to see any pictures of your hair, soon?

Hey thank you!!! Miss DFitt :D I love your eyes, you're so good looking, damn! http://weight-loss.fitness.com/weight-loss-diary/23201-starts-11.html#post482225

Thanks for saying I look great but that was last year--I'm getting there ;) I'm interested in Focus & Ed's objectives in exploring the limits of one's body's capabilities. I want to EXCEL in some form or another, in a physical fitness sense.

Thanks lady, I've come to notice that the older I get the more I like the way I look... it took a long time to get over all the years of harassment and finally realize that I am beautiful!

I am most positive you look great right now the way you are... but I understand that there is ALWAYS room for improvement. I also want to excel in some kind of physical fitness, I just haven't decided what yet! Are you leaning toward running or yoga for your nitch, so to speak?

I dunno. I hope he does end up using me, the next shoot isn't until Oct. 20th, so I was thinking that was good motivation to keep running... I'm not sure about my old picture they used last time for their advertising. I might just have to take a picture of the ad I have, and see if it looks alright to post, lol... We shall see. I also have some pics from two weekends ago at the bar that I wanted to post, to show of me and my friends in all our drunken glory, and my incredibly long tongue, lol... oh just wait....

Fuckin' finally  ;) :D

You haven't chosen running? What else are you into??? :drool5:

I'm always about running, but I'm leaning toward yoga because I have a secret desire to be an instructor one day. Uh, I said that I wanted to be a personal trainer and I quit reading my textbook :blush5: so I'm not making any declarations right now :toetap05:. I also want to take up rock climbing in winter....and belly dancing.........

:toetap05:YOU TEASE!!!!!!!!!:toetap05:

Oh glorious day!!! :beating:

Tomorrow, instead of office work, I get to go to our wine Trade Tastings with our 40+ wineries' reps at an upscale San Francisco restaurant, and get PAID to shmooze. AH! Life is great :D

Oh yes and I get to wear a pretty dress, and I'll probably try to do my hair all nice! I'll still have to pour, one of our Napa wineries can't make it, so I'll have to woman the table.

Nice :sifone:

OH man......YESSSS getting paid to schmooze is the BEST!!!!:coolgleamA:
....I love wine.....when I toured Italy a couple years back, I had the pleasure of wine tasting in the MOST BEAUTIFUL sceneries....and meeting the most wonderful people, and the GREATEST cheeses!!! Hmmmmm.....it sucks at the time, digital cameras weren't THAT BIG YET, so who the hell knows what happened to all my wonderful pictures!!! :cuss:........BUT hey,....I STILL have my memories,.....no one can take those away!! :beating:....definitely another trip on my TO DO LIST!!!

....ooooohhhh a DRESS and PRETTY hair huh.....PICTURES PLEASE!!! ;)

Yup, I'm happy! :D I'll try to take pictures but my camera was screwing with my head a few nights ago.....:( I have a new dress, it's beautiful and simple. I'll try to get someone to snap a few pics.

I love wine too, and after pouring it all day all weekend and not drinking a drop, I feel confident I'll uphold my no alcohol thing.

YESSSSSSSSS!!!! DOING IT!!!! RESISTANCE.....I love it.....I know what you mean.....WOW the temptation, constantly around.........You probably get all kinds of wine free too...which doesn't make it any easier.....but like you said.....ONCE you make it through that weekend of detox....it's more smooth sailing after that!!! ;)

Yes, I get free wine and lately I've been putting it in my cellar. I have no idea why, but I don't even want to drink  This is very odd, at least I can take advantage of it!

I suspect the ice cream is the reason....substitution! HAHA, hell, I can keep it to one serving, so it's ALL GOOD IN DA HOOD,

fo rilly do!

Free unopened wine? Definitely keep it. You'll use it some day. This no OH is not forever. You'll break it out when you're ready.

*mutters to self about not having enough wine.*

My hubby's on a no drinking kick right now, too. Before he decided to, he went and bought a bunch of beer and wine. Now our condo fridge looks like a college guy's--beer and not much else. :D And there are 3 bottles of wine sitting on the counter that he can't drink, either. Neither can I, for that matter. :ack2:

Well running is one of the things, but mountain biking is tops on my list too. As well as climbing and hiking. I have only been climbing once and LOVED it, but just haven't had the opportunity to do it again. Maybe this winter... Oddly enough I would like to get into a sport of some kind as well... like soccer or volleyball... or even softball. I just want it all damnit!!!!

I danced for a long time but eventually got burnt out... it was very frustrating because I started when I was 16 and your body doesn't want to move certain ways unless its been trained for years... I took about a year off when I turned 21 and then took a jazz class last semester, but it wasn't the same and the girls in the class were... rude to say the least.... I would like to take a hip hop class oddly enough... its on my to do list!!!

But running is number 1 right now, my first race in the end of October... its very exciting!!:hurray:

Trops: Yes, I'm good at keeping wine, I have a "wine cellar" going on....locked up with my guns and drugs, of course ;) I'll definitely drink again but the main reason I quit is because alcohol disruptes the REM stage of sleep, and I tend to drink in the evening/night. Too bad it's not typical to drink in the am, when one SHOULD from a metabolic POV ;)

Kimberly: That is a damn shame! Well, he might be "back", and willing to deplete the inventory ;) eventually....

Mz. Fitt:
I'm feelin' you; I have always wanted to break dance :( I suppose I'd have to move to LA or New York for good resources on THAT.

Rude bitches are the main reason why I feel so......relieved when I hang out with guys. Even my BEST girlfriends cop an attitude for no apparent reason some time, SIGH!

I want it all, too--wouldn't it be nice to not have to work, so you could spend all your time doing fun activities? :D

laj: Thank you, it is the Swadhistana or sacral chakra, related to base emotion, sexuality and creatvity. However, since I'm not very emotional or sexual right now I might want to change it to the Anahata or the heart chakra, which relates to complex emotion, compassion, love, equilibrium and well-being.....maybe. The Swadhistana look cooler to me, and is ORANGE. I like orange :D

My first attempt at Miso Soup

........was a muthafuckin SUCCESS!

Best damn miso soup I ever had, and I made it!!! :D

Uh, that's not to say that any of YOU would like it, because it's very non-traditional. What did I do?

I mistook a pack of wakame instant soup as wakame leaves. So I dumped that in water in a big saucepan that could definitely work like a soup pot. I stuck in bamboo shoots. I was cooking diced sweet potatoes while I was at it. UH, here I'll lay out the ingediants (I didn't measure, just used my own intuition)

wakame
bamboo shoots, cute smaller than they came
certified organic Genmai Miso (aged and fermented soy and brown rice from Eden foods)
chopped fresh organic ginger
shiitake mushrooms
diced fresh organic garlic
cubed, firm, organic, SPROUTED Wild Wood tofu
cubed organic baked sweet potatoes
bean thread noodles
fresh organic diced green onions
fresh organic chopped collard greens

Hmmm I think that's it. Anyway, it was delicious, I have a bunch leftover, and it is past my bedtime :D

I successfully ran the same route I did the last time I ran an hour and 30 minutes in the forest, but this time I went further and cut my time down to 1 hour 22 minutes. Blame it on not being exhausted and hung over!

I have no intention of counting calories right now and I'll be busy tomorrow, shmoozing. I hope everyone has an excellent Hump Day!

Curvie,

If pictures tell anything, you are cool and sexy. Keep up the good work in fitness. Eat, play, work, and stay healthy. What else?
