Hey guys,

Im a female, 20 years old. I start university in september this year and intend to shed my excess weight by then. I finally decided today, that i should start this process, september is very close by!

my BMI IS 34.5
MY BMR is 1709

I intend to this this through a variety of activities- swimming, running (Ive got a treadmill at home), some yoga to keep my core stong and maybe even some skipping.

Also, I shall control my diet! Even though i do not eat ALOT, i do think i need to get rid of the BAD food and replace it with healthier options. I used to be a national swimmer and gained 30 odd kgs after i had an accident and was bed ridden.

Now i want to lose the weight so i can have lot of fun at uni, go on camping trips and be as active as all my other friends. I love going caving i want to be fit to do such stuff as well!

I quit dancing when i became fat, even though i love dancing so much. I feel like fat people look odd while dancing. I want to gain back all the mad fun i used to have when i was thin.

I shall post starting today, everything i do the whole day including the food i eat. Please feel free to give me suggestions. This thread is going to be my motivation for the next 5 months! :)

thanks so much ! :)

Welcome to the forum, although exercise is important for your health it is your diet that is most important for your weight loss.

Welcome. Read some of the other diaries on here too. It will help with motivation and you might discover a few tips along the way. I've found a food diary really helpful.

You haven't said your height. I always can picture someone better if i know their height.

Thanks.

Are you sure you've got the right BMR for your BMI? It doesn't seem right. 1700 calories suggests you are not very much overweight but your BMI suggests you are.
