Curling & Benching - Neck injury

Hey everybody - I've been weight training a little over a year now, but this past saturday I was doing my bicep curls when I got a sudden neck pain. It's localized in the back upper left portion of my neck, but radiates downward, which leads me to believe it's muscular.

It went away in a couple hours, but I went back to the gym on monday for chest & Tris, and as soon as I did one bench, it came back. I haven't lifted since then, and the injury remains. It's not the pain that bothers me, but it probably means I was using bad form and jutting my neck our or tensing and pressing it back too much. Any help in treating this injury? I'm willing to take another week off, but don't want to be away from the weights that much longer.

I'm still running and other cardio.

Thanks for the help.......

Well, no luck. I need some advice. I took two weeks off and headed back today. Still get the pain in my neck. Now I feel very odd after the workout. Any help?

This injury could run deeper than a muscle pull. Locate a chiropractor in your area and head over. I've had ridiculous amounts of success over the years working with my chiropractor. Ask around for a good one; and if you can find one who also practices homeopothy and holistic medicine, then you found yourself a goldmine.
