counting calories and mental health

Permanent breakdowns have a bad effect on health, so I need to be very careful. Calorie count kept pushing me, and I often break down. Sometimes it's difficult for me to keep my diet, but I try not to scold myself for it, but just to continue. How do you cope with the breakdowns?
 
I forgive myself and try to figure out what caused the breakdown. I definitely need a lower limit for calories because if I don't eat enough the urge to binge becomes unbearable.
