Countdown to Mrs Sunflower!

If you're 5'10", 1200 is definitely too low. I'm 6'2", and MFP tells me to aim for 2100 calories to lose 2 lbs a week.

Great pics, by the way, looks like you two are trouble together

Thanks, you two :)

So, I've just had some interesting news! I've been put forward to go on secondment for 3 months to work on a social work team as an unqualified social worker. I currently work for the council in a Children's Home for young people in care with behavioural problems so this would be a bit of a step up. I've actually just applied to have my social work degree funded and the last interview is in mid-June so it will look fantastic that I've been working as an unqualified SW for 3 months.. So I've taken it! I have to go into work and tell the kiddies which will be hard..Especially telling my special boy who I've done most of my work with. He's very close to me and I to him so not looking forward to that conversation but I'll be back in three months!

So this means no shift work for 3 months..9-5 Monday to Friday *blurghhhh* BUT all my weekends back, which will be a treat for a few months. More time with Yank, more time to plan meals, opportunity to take packed lunches, etc, instead of eating shite from the kitchen at the kid's home. Well--It'll certainly be different! Guess if I'm going to do this degree (if I get it) this will be the best way to know if it's for me!

Today I have swum and eaten very little--I've slept this afternoon to avoid the snacking (perks of time off work!) and am gonna meet Yank for a drink to tell him my exciting news. Tonight I have my friend A over for dinner and I'm making Slimming World Pizza's again for my boyssss. Chicken is boiling for Luca-Marie, the cat whose bum will not stop leaking, and all is good with the world! Healthy snacks are prepared!

Oh Han. Congratulations!!!!!! That is great news! You should be very proud of yourself xoxo Cate

Wow, normal working hours!!!! Even I'm jealous, I'd love to have my weekends back as that'd mean more time with husband. SO much easier to plan for meals n stuff with regular NORMAL working hours too, and a regular sleeping schedule. Going for your degree is also awesome!

I agree with upping the cals too, I am MUCH shorter than you and eat approx. 1400-1500 cals on days that I sit on the couch and watch Netflix for 10+ hours, and on exercise/work days I eat 1700-2100 EASY.

Thanks ladies :) Not going to beat myself up on the calories, then. I had nearly 2000 yesterday which was too much but had a decent swim and lots of walking yesterday so not too concerned! Calories would have been right on point if I hadn't drunk so much.

We slept in this morning and no plans until the cinema later :) Going to see the new Mad Max (mainly so I can perv over Tom Hardy..) and taking my own snacks, mostly because I'm skint as a skint thing but will be healthier also.

I weighed in yesterday and had lost 2lb so I'm now 15st 1lb or 211lb so I'm happy :) A loss is a loss and 2lbs in a few days is pretty good I think.

Breakfast:
Lunch: home-made breakfast wrap. 1 wrap (187) bacon with fat cut off (100) lowfat cheese slice (100)
Dinner: cheese sauce, wholewheat pasta, chicken sausages, tomatoes, olives (630)
Snacks: cinema snacks (400) wine x 2 (500)

Total:1917
Exercise: 4 mile walk

Congratulations on the engagement, the social work opportunity, and the exercise and weight loss success. Love your signature line and your pictures. You will be a gorgeous bride. I agree that 1500-2000 calories will still result in burning off those pounds given your height and activity level.

Hello! Congratulations and keep up the good work! Do you swim in a pool or at the beach? XO

Thank you guys :) really appreciate you posting!

Aloe: thank you! I have lots of positive stuff happening right now, it's a real motivation to get this weight loss kickstarted!

Ghera, thank you :) I swim at the pool although I am literally a stones throw from the beach where I live! It's far too cold still at the moment but will certainly be dipping in over the Summer! Until then, the pool is peachy :D

Pool sounds good too! I love swimming so I share your joy of being in the water:beating: Goodluck with everything, keep posting!

Feeling positive about life is the best motivation for sure. Glad that life is peachy for you sweetie xo Cate

Wow! if you would be a myriapoda, I bet it would be easier hahaha. Good luck and keep us posted!!

Ghera, I would make a lovely mermaidy millipede! Certainly would help to get the steps up!

My calories would have been peachy yesterday if I wasn't a TERRIBLE SHREW and had popcorn at the cinema. Had lovely healthy snacks in my bag and it meant diddly squat because I am a greedy, greedy girl. So that was 400 cals ou the window. Did walk my 10,000 steps though, which was good.

Have walked my 10,000 already today, been for a long walk on the beach with a friend & her children, drank some coffee (black, no sugar!) and came home for a healthy lunch rather than spend money and eat out. Now I am going to play me some PS3, sit in my paaaaants, and slow cook a delicious pasta sauce for this evening. Contemplating going for a swim but it's always so busy on a Sunday so may wait until tomorrow!

Breakfast: Graze box (119)
Lunch: low-fat super noodles (161) olives and sprinkling of cheese (85)
Dinner: low-fat home made pasta sauce with 1 cup pasta, lots of veggies and half a small baguette (710)
Snacks: wine x 2 (400)

Total:1475
Exercise: 10,000 steps reached. 1 hour swimming (-669)

Thanks my love! I kicked some serious ass today. There were two absolutely GORGEOUS girls in there and a stupidly nice looking gentleman and I did my stupid anxiety thing where I feel like I can't get out of the pool until they're gone in case they look at me...Yes, very stupid, I realise. Anxiety for the fail. But, it meant instead of my usual 30 mins I did a whole HOUR because it took them a million years to get out of the hot tub so I could make my sneaky exit, bum wobbling madly. But, I DID IT! Feel brilliant and have certainly earned my dinner! myfitnesspal says that at my height, weight, etc, swimming for an hour at medium intensity burnt 669 calories. :hurray:

That's awesome! Well done you and I laughed out loud and you "hiding" in the pool so you wouldn't be seen- I would do exactly the same!!

It seems like you swim quite a bit. I would love to swim, there are 3 massive pools where I live, but I'm way too body shy to actually get into any kind of swimming costume. I've not swam since I was about 14 and was forced to at dreaded school swimming lessons. Actually, I used to pretend not to have my swim stuff, and be forced to wear Lost Property costumes :ack2:. I'm rambling now, but my point is, well done on your hour long swim yesterday!

Oh the shameeee, Lara. Think it'll be a long hard slog to "confidence!". Never mind--Least I'm doing something about my weight!

I've posted about the swimming stuffs on your diary--Go read! Thank you my lovely x

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So today is the day the dreaded bathroom work is taking place. I now have builders in every day apart from weekends until mid June--It's a ballache already. My cats are deaf so I've had to lock them away upstairs to prevent them from being let out accidentally (indoor kitties) so I'm having a minor panic every time I have to leave the house.

So I'm sort of stuck in, for the time being. If they finish early today I'm going to sneak out for a swim before my friend comes over at 5 but if not, I won't beat myself up about it. I went weds, thurs, friday and sunday this week so 4 times is pretty good.

Weighing in tomorrow so we'll see if my efforts have paid off! Dinner tonight is slimming world chips, kievs and rice so will plan for that :)

Breakfast: skipped
Lunch: pasta n sauce (300) crisps and hummous (230)
Dinner: kiev (325) slimming world chips (350) rice (125)
Snacks: wine x 2 (380) crisps and hummous (230)

Total:1940
Exercise: nothing!

10,000 steps...omg...I'd die. I'm super lazy though. Also, I need to stop reading journals, you said popcorn and the only thought I have in my head now is *IHAVEPOPCORNINTHECUPBOARD*
