Couch POTATO to "MARATHON" HONEY! :)

Love my Secret Accountability group on Facebook! Ask me & I'll add you~! :)

The past two days, I've really set it in my mind, that ANYTHING is possible, if I can have lazer sharp focus!

What does that mean?

That means, re evaluating where I spend my time. What exactly am I doing and for how long? Is facebook sucking me in? Am I spending too much time on a task, because I have a lack of focus as to what I am supposed to do after...? All those little things add up. To a lot of minutes. Minutes that could have taken me ONE STEP closer towards my goals.

I mean, the truth is that, I have the same amount of time as anyone else who has ever accomplished anything great & that's exactly what that means. To be GREAT, you have to be accurate in where you spend your time & energy. The people around you definitely impact the way you spend your time, but regardless of the fact, we still have the choice to create a managable time schedule that we can stick to and accomplish great strides towards our goals. One pebble at a time!

The past days, I have become a FAN of 'to do lists'. And 'accomplished lists'. I like to have two seperate lists because when you have them all on one list and you didn't get to them all, what you are left with at the end is the residual feeling of disappointment for not having been able to achieve it all in one day. On the other hand, if you have a seperate list at the end of your day, you are forced to become aware of the things you have accomplished & now you have a feeling of SUCCESS! You took steps towards your goal & it feels good & now you are more motivated to keep going there! :) So for me, two seperate lists works, and at the end, the unfinished tasks on the other list & just a new basis for the next days list. YET, now, I am motivated to do it. I feel accomplished. One step, is one step.

I can honestly, say, I wonder WHY it took me so long to do this? But, it just wasn't the perfect moment, and now it is. I have an amazing hour by hour organizer now too! :) I still love the pen to paper though! I'm old fashion that way. Hour by hour. Minute by minute. Day by day. Week by week. Month by month. Year by year = MY ENTIRE LIFE. I want to choose where those minutes are circulated to!

Today is DAY 8 of Chalean Extreme!!! She has been kicking my butt with her slow reps! So slow, that I kind of felt I pulled a butt cheek muscle, butttttt, to my surprise the assigned rest day was just enough to get the oil back in my engine back there! :)
She has a pull heavier weights until your muscle fails before the intended set amount method. So far, I'm noticing more tightness in my abs in these past days.

Today was a new low!! 153.2!!!! Yeaaa Yeaaa!!!!
I still continue to be alcohol free!! 81 days & noooo urges! I honestly can say, that I will not drink until the cruise in September! :jump:!

This is the largest workout group I've ever been in!! 2,500 coaches come together!!!

I met Tony Horton p90x, Brett Hoebel -Biggest Loser & Rev Abs (I fell deeply in love at first sight! & I think my trainer is kind of jealous), Sean T-Insanity- & Debbie From Slim in 6!

Also, I went to Summit for Beachbody this past weekend!! OMG!!! Life transforming!! So many people come together to help End the Trend of Obesity in this country! That's my mom who has joined me in the fight to end the trend at the end!! I love this!!!

Also, Shakeology has a NEW flavor- Tropical & it's SO GOOD!!! OMG!!! I love it!! If you want to know more just ask! I have pics but these pages won't let me upload size too large. Boooo! :icon_bs: I continue to drink my shakes & I continue to have my secret facebook accountability group for those that click to want to have me as a free accountability partner & I continue to invite people on my team to work with me in Ending the Trend! I had two of the 4 coaches that have joined my team in the 7 weeks that I have decided to be a coach, come to Summit with me & we ALL bought our tickets for Vegas next year!! It was amazing!! :D!!! We are all committed & caught the vision! People transformed all over! Lives changed!

Oh well!! It was AMAZING!!! It was like the Grammys for Beachbody! :D! :beating:!

Chalean Extreme Day 10!!!! Woop Wooop!!!

ChaLEAN Extreme Day 10!! :D!!! Yeaa yeaaa!!!!

Today, I actually did day 9's workout and day 10's because I did bootcamp yesterday and was smaked with renewal fees, and unexpected laptop expenses which almost resulted in a chocolate breakdown, but DIDN'T! I was so close. So many times. That's the one area where, I have now learned to try and fill with exercise, instead of food. Food is easy. Food is what I was always accustomed to. Exercise would come and go in my life. Yet, food will always be a constant. The only thing that changes is the relationship towards it.

Chalean Extreme -Burn Circuit 2- was challenging, yet manageable! The repetitions in this circuit focus on low tone down cardio moves, here and there, yet tons of reps of heavy weights. In this video you won't find yourself jumping around like crazy. You will maintain a steady standpoint with varying shifts from time to time, for the most part. Just because you aren't moving all over the place all the time, Chalean Extreme focuses on making you really get to know your own strength in muscles. The constant slow steady controlled repetitions contract the entire body and before you know it, you are dripping sweat all over! Literally, if you are contracting your muscles and 'flexing' while you are doing the moves, then you can expect sweat easily within 5 minutes of starting!

I love her personality!! She has a great ENERGY, that is really electrifying! She works hard, and you can feel that she honestly wants you to change, and that is the reason behind the slowness of it all. On the other hand though, I also did her dvd today as well, BURN INTERVALS, and that was pure cardio intervals! You are jumping, turning, twisting, and so much more. She focuses on light weights and high reps here to increase the endurance on the following days, that focus on the opposite, heavy weights and low reps. My hair was dripping sweat, my body, arms, chest, face, and shoulders were sweaty! I found myself several times feel my thighs burning on fire!!!! There was a moment that we were doing the weights overhead with light weights, 5lb each arm, and high reps overhead and I could feel myself want to give up. The burn in my entire body was hot & the sweat was rolling into my eyes and down over my lips, salty. Just as I wanted to quit, she always had the perfect thing to say to keep me going! That's what I'm talking about!! I like it when they can read my mind through the screen & KNOW that I'm working HARD & recognize me for it by easing up on me, after I BRING IT!!!!! Yeaaaa Yeaaaa!!

Highly recommended!!! The fight continues...
I made a new youtube video!!! :D!

Chalean Extreme Day 15!!!!

Chalean Extreme Day 15!!! :cheers2:! Woooohooo!!!! I'm feeling it!!! The muscles are changing!!!

In Chalean Extreme world, today was Burn Circuit 1- which is a 35 min. video & targets a lot of the upper shoulder work as well, as incorporates heavy weights. In this video, Chalean Extreme is really trying to get you to understand that you can accomplish heavy weights and low reps to gain definition. She talks you through the slow counts of each & every move making your muscles feel on fire, if you have enough weight & are going slow enough. I always catch myself dripping sweat within the first 5-10 mins.

Since weeks, 1-4 in the Chalean Extreme program give you a routine to follow that varies in time of videos, the shortest being 35 mins. and the longest being 55 mins or so, you have time to become aquainted with the different positions. She repeates the same cycle of videos every week. Different every day, but the same every week. Shoulder work & upper thigh work are a primary focus in these weeks. Lower core strength as well. I did notice that in week 1, I was slower to catch onto the different moves, mainly because I was trying to incorporate the resistance bands. I had trouble finding the perfect resistance, and when I would, she had already moved on to the next move. I found that to cause me to rewind a couple times. I noticed that the minute that the weights were used instead, that I didn't have to continually adjust the resistance in the bands to make it strong enough. I was then able to flow smoothly into each next move & BRING IT!!!

The first weeks of Chalean Extreme don't really have concentrated ab work other than 1-2 days that you have a seperate ab video. One, it makes me re confirm that we do not need to work abs everyday, like Tony from P90x used to say. You have to continually shock the muscles. Chalean is the same, yet, I do notice, that unlike p90x, my core is almost always contracted & flexing while doing her moves, making my stomach smaller too!! Woohoo!!!!!

I did incorporate today 1 hour bootcamp this morning as well, & did running sprints in there too. I noticed for a couple moments while running next to sprinters, that I felt defeated from the moment I started. My mind continued to tell me, "They are going to beat you anyway. Why try? You like to go slow, anyway!" ...I would have to wash my thoughts & FOCUS on the target & realize that I too can do it!! Since I am a distance runner at a slow pace, interval sprint training does come as a challenge. :smash: I'm ready to smash right on through though, whether my mind is willing or not, because it's the workouts that I don't want to do that count the most! I constantly have to remind myself of that, even though it's been about 6 months of being consistent with my Beachbody workouts. Ab ripper x today, is getting SO MUCH easier! I can't wait for the new P90x:2 to come out!!! INSANE!!! :) Wish you guys all a great day & remember Muscle Burns Fat, so BUILD IT!! :D!

Food has been great, as well as water intake too! We'll see what the scale has to say in a couple days. So far, loving the journey of committing to myself & not sabotaging any longer. It finally dawned on me one day, that I AM WORTH IT!!! So are you, so just PUSH! You can do it!! Let's do it together!! :grouphug:!

I made a new youtube video blog post:

I hit 149lbs!!!! Yeaaaaaaa!!! Mindfulness eating is KEY!

149 lbs!!!!! I did it!!!!!! I finally made my 149lbs goal!!!!!! It's been over 6 years that I have been at the weight of 149lbs. Let me tell you, it feels GOOD!!! :D!

I had a little moment for myself yesterday, when I stepped on the scale expecting to see the scale working against me, and then WHALA down, 4.8 lbs since last Friday!!!! I swear, the heavens opened up & swallowed me right then & there!!! I jumped, I twirled, I screamed, I cried, and I celebrated. Celebrated with WATER!!! :)

I'm very excited for the choices I make now. I think what is becoming a HUGE aspect of my success, is MINDFULNESS EATING. I am practicing the art of being midful & being 'present' in the moment of actually eating. What that means, is....really listening to my chews, absorbing 23 bites, savoring each bite, putting down my fork inbetween, taking a breath, holding a period of 3 seconds or so before picking up the fork again. It sounds SO SIMPLE, but if it was so simple then there wouldn't be people that are overweight. There wouldn't be people that leave a restaurant feeling 'stuffed'. The truth is that most people don't know when to STOP. We get overwhelmed by the amount of food in front of us. We get overwhelmed by the cost $$ of food and not wasting our money & we allow ourselves to forget that The First Bite Tastes the SAME as the Last bite! Go figure right? I mean, we all sure act like it just might taste different so we try and assure that it won't by FINISHING the entire plate, when we damn well were satisfied, maybe even full, a long time ago!

Naturally, in the United States, portion sizes are OUT OF CONTROL. We always try & get a bang for our buck & then 'SUPER SIZE' comes along. Then 'ALL YOU CAN EAT' comes along. Really? Do we need that? No. We don't. Also, being the average thrifty consumer, can we really AVOID the good deal? Often times, no. We are naturally inclined to go for the good deal. The only problem is that we are getting the short end of the stick by using our bodies as a STORAGE tank. Yes, I mean storage tank. Storage of all that crap food. Storage of an overload of 'good food', too.

There is such a thing as OVER EATING in any type of food. No one said, that 'stuffing oneself' with healthy food is good either. That's not being mindful of your body telling you to STOP, I'm satisfied. Yet, how many of us can really hear the DING? The little feeling that tells you, "Ahh... that was good, YET the rest of the place looks delicious." It's not easy to STOP there. BUTTTTTTTT, if you want to succeed, you MUST stop there. I think often what we forget to realize is that the food, isn't going to disappear. It will be there in left overs, it will be there tomorrow, it will be there for the rest of our lives. Why must we feel inclined to SHOVEL IT ALL IN, right now????

It's absurd!! I know, because I've done it for years on end in my life. :piggy: Now, I do know the difference of being satiated and being full and or stuffed. It's a practice, 5 times a day. Each time you will get better, and more accurate if you really try.

So here are some TIPS TO MINDFULNESS EATING:

-Use smaller plates to serve yourself on. It's important to become aware that our minds will register feeling abundant with food on the plate as long as it covers the most part of it. So do you really want to cover a plate that is 12'' inches round, or do you want to cover one that is 6" round? The answer is 6". You want to feel like you are getting the most, yet, really be allowing yourself less, while still enjoying. It is about tricking the mind & body to follow in the footsteps of the new path you are laying out for yourself.

-If you are going out to a restaurant, ask the waiter to pre-package half the meal, before bringing it to you, so that you automatically have left overs and aren't inclined to eat the entire portion. Yes, resaurants do this for you. Often times, people aren't ready to ask the waiter to do things differently than what's on the menu out of fear that they won't. I'm here to remind you, that YOU ARE PAYING FOR YOUR MEAL. The people at that place of business are there to serve your wants and desires. If it's your desire to have the sauces on the side, or to have 1/2 of it pre packaged, then SO BE IT. You have ask, though. No one can read your mind.

-Once your food arrives, BREATHE before picking up that fork. We all get so excited when our food gets there, that automatically, the fork goes into the hand, and most often, never comes down until that food is GONE. :banghead: Not anymore!! Stop, breathe - and then pick up the fork. Look down at your food & appreciate the textures, appreciate the fact that food is an energy source, a source of fuel, and yes, for many of us, a source of COMFORT. If we know that we are inclined to food as 'comfort', then help yourself out some & start to learn to appreciate pauses in between each time you take another bite. Put the fork down, BREATHE, 1-3 times, then go back for more. You are giving your body the time to process, and to become full. Naturally, it takes the stomach-mind connection about 20 mins. to register that it's satisfied, so eat SLOW. Give it time while you still have food on the plate to leave.

-Chew your food 23 times. How many times do we just, bite bite, swallow? Hmm.... most often. Lately, I've become really aware of the people around me, as I'm becoming aware of myself, and you can literally count the number of times people around you chew & then proceed to swallow and bite again. It's easy to forget that by nature, humans, are vegetarians. Look at our teeth structure.... we are not made to be a carnivore, yet, we have evolved into a society that filled with the mentality that we have always been. Wrong. Even though, we do eat meats & chickens doesn't mean that we have the proper amino acids in our stomach to efficiently digest what we are eating. We just don't. So since we do eat meats, chicken, fish, and so on... we must remind ourselves, that Nature's Blender is in our mouth! It all starts there. Chewing is a process of 'breaking down' the foods you have just consumed, before it goes into the intestinal tract. We have to help our bodies, and the biggest thing we can do is chew our food. Sounds simple, but really, do you do it to the point of the food being mashed like a baby's? ...So just do it. Chew.

-Appreciate the meal you have. Have you ever noticed, that often times, overweight people or even people in general are sitting there in front of their meal, eating, and already planning for the next meal? It's absurd. I know I've done it. You have food in front of you NOW. Enjoy that first. Stop thinking about what's coming next. Breath, appreciate that you are filling your body with an energetic meal NOW. Forget about later. Appreciate what's in front of you now. How do you do that? By savoring the texture of each bite in your mouth. The splash of flavors. Listening to the crunch of the food. Smelling each bite. Looking at how amazing it looks. Appreciating all aspects of it.

These things sound simple to do, yes, but what's simple to do, is simple to NOT do as well. It's that plain. So give yourself the gift of change, and start TODAY. Your next meal is your next opportunity to get it right. It is a practice. A daily practice. We can do it!!! :beating:!!! :grouphug:

Wow! Thank you so much for saying that. Alcohol was the HARDEST thing to quit in my life. I had to realize that I was killing myself and not allowing myself to live, because I used it as a replacement for action. I hated where I was in life physically and sometimes financially and I would drink to hide. It's over now. The last time I did this was over 6 years ago. Something's changed this time. I love me, now!

Great Job ALTA.

It's great to see such positive energy from someone that's been on a diet successfully for 3 years now. Often we are positive when we start and slowly (or quickly) lose focus once we hit a bump in the road.

Keep it up. Love the tips. My exgf's always told me to eat slower...I know i definitely do not chew 23 times! That's a tough one for me...I'll give it a try!

Keep it up!

Ken

So the ex girlfriends, huh? ... Lol. Maybe we all know a thing or two as girlfriends right, but doesn't it just seem so much easier to ignore it as well coming from them at the time, too? Lol ... I know. My bf does it to me , sometimes.

Beat en with a stick, I say! Lol ;) judases kidding!!
Glad you like the tips :) It is a passion now for me, Ken. We all fall off, but I've just learned to get back up, refocus & fight harder again! I'm glad you stopped in here :) made my day!! Get it, boy! Chew your food and breathe! Stop when you hear the ding' . :)
