Couch POTATO to "MARATHON" HONEY! :)

Weigh in went shitty. 169.2 from 165.4 on Friday.
Workout went shitty because of it.
Told the trainer, weigh in on Friday alone is good enough.
Mind was fucking with me derailing my efforts.
I was feeling like I let him and myself down.
I don't like the feeling.
I noticed myself more bitchy at the trainer cause of it.
Made me resent my workout, and him.
I had 3 shots on Sat., 3/4 of a bag of chocolate covered pretzels, a vegetarian indian lunch yesterday.
The sugar, the salt, and the tons of water I drank afterwards explain the gain.
Still though, shitty emotions are shitty emotions. I try to convince myself out of them, logically.
Worked out on Sunday 1hr 45 mins.
Bf finally did p90x with me!! :beating:! Loved it~!
Have a ton of cleaning and clothes to wash. Ugh.
Was noticing the trainer shifting my goals, of fitness into fast weight loss, and was resenting him for it.
My goal, .5 lb a week, 24lbs in a year.
That's a healthy, maintainable goal for me. The long haul.
Feeling good that I spoke up to him, and let him know how I feel.
I know how to go extemist, and chop everything out. But give me a couple years, maybe less, and back to square one.
No more square ones. Fuck the yo yo weight. It's frustrating.
I noticed that I wasn't even happy with the 1.5lb loss last week in 3 days because trainer expected 5-6lbs.
I didn't like that.
Refocusing on clean eating.
Week 5 of p90x consistent starting today. Week 2 of Slim in 6 starting today.

Noticed my perception of my body yesterday was GREAT! Stong, sexy, and healthy, consistent.
Today, my perception of myself after the scale, was FAT, UGLY, DISAPPOINTMENT, FAILURE, LAZY, NOT CAPABLE.

Funny how one day can shift everything.

I text my bf, that I really appreciated him working out with me this weekend, and that it was fun and inspiring.

He text me back, "Thanks beautiful! I had fun too. You inspire me too."

I started crying like crazy. :cry: Just goes to show, how much of a failure I felt like this morning. I really needed to hear that. :beating:

Aww :grouphug: you should never feel down about your efforts - you are doing your best and that is amazing! Come on you are lifting 44 lb kettle bells woman!!! That is unreal!! I'm glad you spoke up to your trainer about it because he was being unrealistic and clearly he had different goals than you. You can still do an amazing job at the triathalon without dropping a bunch of weight first - you are strong and determined and the scale won't tell you that.
I would never agree to Monday weigh-ins because let's face it - weekends are never perfect and the salt is always going to play a factor. I think sticking to Friday weigh-ins is the way to go. Heck if I could do it with no weigh-ins and just taking measurements that would be great too but I do need that weekly accountability.
You are so strong and your workouts prove that. Don't let yesterday bring your week down. You still have lots of time to finish the week strong and on a positive note. I love that your bf worked out with you - I enjoyed it on the ship too and wish he had a gym membership to come with me but he wouldn't get his money worth because once he starts working in the spring he won't have any energy after work to go. It's fun to get all sweaty together though!
Hope you cheer up today because you deserve all the happiness and you work hard for it! Keep it up friend! You're are huge motivation and we all need you!! :seeya:
 
:grouphug:! Thanks girl! I know what you mean. Monday weigh in's were going to be the start of a horrible week every week for me, especially since I splurge with my bf on the weekends. It's our time to cuddle and watch movies, and go to new places. The reality is that without the balance, then none of it is worth it.

I know that the trainer had the best intentions for me, and that he doesn't want to see me cry, and wants to see me be happy and do my best. Although Monday weigh in is completely right. I even caught myself at night after my p90x video and ab ripper x video wanting to snack, thinking "Well. I gained already." But the reality is that ,...maybe it was just salt, sugar, and water, and it'd be down in a couple days. If I wouldn't have seen the scale, I think I would have snacked less and swapped it for a recovery shake instead. It's so crazy how the mind works.

And you are very right! I am determined and focused on health and fitness, versus weight loss. I did send the trainer a text yesterday in the afternoon, and told him "Thank you for understanding that I want to do this slow. Once and for all. For life. It has a huge effect on my perception of myself and my efforts."

He text me back at night, "Don't worry, I got you, Alta. I'm very proud of you and all the hard work you put in." I text him back, "Thanks. You are the best. I appreciate how you push me to new levels. Making me love it!"

After that. All resentment was gone. I guess, I just wanted to make sure as well, that not only he understood my goals, but that he didn't think he was wasting his time with me. I see now, that he doesn't think that. He said he got another person to do the triathalon with us too. So that's 4!

Exercise yesterday: (almost the same everyday)
1 hr. Bootcamp-am
1 hour p90x video (they are different everyday)-pm
16 min Ab ripper x
(didn't do Slim in 6 video-my throat was hurting.)

Exercise-bootcamp
Bkfst: 1 hot green tea, 1 cup of wheat grass
-can't remember for the life of me what I had for bkfst.
Exercise: Clean house
Lunch:
1/2 cup of lowfat cottage cheese w/ 2 sliced strawberries ontop w/ cinnamon
3 egg white omellette -with fresh asparugus, green onion, tomato
1 slice of whole wheat bread w/ lowfat strawberry cream cheese (1/2 tsp)
Snack:120 cal. Quaker whole grain bar
Dinner: 1/2 cup of whole grain rice mixed with assorted beans
Snack: 1/4 cup of whole grain rice mixed with assorted beans
Exercise: p90x and ab ripper x
Snack:-1 small green tortilla w/ cheese (chesadilla)
1 sugar free jello (cinnamon roll flavor)
1/4 cup of whole grain rice with assorted beans (made a huge pot for the week)
1 hot green tea

Great day yesterday despite your mood. I need to make some salads tonight to last the week -it's always so much easier to eat healthy when you are prepared - it's worth the extra effort. I'm sure if you keep it up this week the scale will be nice to your Friday!
It's all about finding our balance and stopping the yo-yoing for good so I think your on the right path! I like to indulge on the weekends with my friends and hubby too and I won't be giving that up anytime soon - I just need to learn moderation a little better and pick the things that I really like instead of just indulging for the sake of it.

Are you "working out" or are you "WORKING OUT!!!?"

So in these programs that Beachbody has for p90x and Slim in 6 that I am doing, Tony Horton the actual guy in the video, always says, "BRING IT!!!"

I am on about day 30 or so,...and in the beginning,..I would just go through the motions of the moves, and I thought that's what he meant by BRING IT! ...Push PLAY?..right? I did!

...Then, as working with my personal trainer in the mornings, and as the week progressed,...I soon realized,...what "BRING IT" really meant! That means,...FOCUS! Focus on each and every part of your body being contracted in a tight position (even if you have fat ontop) and using your breath as a control mechanism. If you can control your breath, you can control your energy! If you can control where you focus your attention, you can control how hard you workout as well. In the beginning, I noticed that my vision when trying to do pushups, or rope work, or weights, was "scattered". I would search the room, look at the floor, look at the trainer, other people around me,...everywhere except where I needed to be focused...ON MY EYES! The DRIVE, the DETERMINATION, the FOCUS in my eyes. It's funny, because the more I searched for forces outside of me, the weakness of my abilities overwhelmed me. I was tired. I couldn't do one pushup. I couldn't do one pullup. I couldn't run. The I couldn't list went on and on....When I searched for the forces within me...it all changed from there.

...NOW, I FOCUS! If working out in the gym where there is a mirror, I do not look at the fat on my body, or the actual movement, I slightly glance at my posture/position- fix it, and stare into my eyes! That's it. Focused!

When I'm doing pushups, I stare at ONE POINT on the floor, and say "I CAN! 1, I can! 2, I can! 3,...and go on and on and on!" The difference is immense. I can now do about 150 pushups in an hour...maybe more. I swing kettle bells that are 44lbs, started with 20lbs and dying. Now ...I'm LIVING! LOVING & LIVING! I watch the sweat roll off my face onto the floor with LOVE & HAPPINESS! :D!

I am impressed with my MIND, MY BODY, MY SPIRIT! I push & now I know what it means to BRING IT!!! Control you breath, control your thoughts, think I can thoughts, PUSH harder each time, FOCUS on controlling and contracting your entire body while you do the moves, and BAM! RESULTS! Start seeing the body really change. It's the composure that's changing. It's insane! I can now do, 3 sets of 10 assisted pullups. Not completely alone, yet, I can hold for 3 seconds at the top, and release. Getting there. Imroving. Day by day. Meal by meal. Thought by thought. If you ever wondered if you can BRING IT, too!?? STOP WONDERING! ...Just do it! You can. I can. You can. We all can! ....sooooo on that note, BRING IT to everything you do!! Cleaning the house, running, gym time, walking in the supermarket, carrying the kids, driving, sitting at work. Whatever it is...Tighten your behind, arms, abs, legs...stop, then do it again!!!...Do it over and over until it becomes HABIT! Awareness.
 
Good post Alta!! I can bring it too!! It's funny because when I'm at the gym I never look at the people around me and one day I almost walked into a friend of mine and she laughed and told me to concentrate on where I was going but when I'm at the gym I only concentrate on me and keeping my heart rate up and giving it my all. Sometimes I don't even notice the music playing from my ipod because I'm so in the zone.
I sweat so much when I work out it's crazy but I know it's because I'm giving it my all. I see all these people leaving the gym after their work out that don't even have a bead of sweat and I think - it will take them a long time to see results and I want to tell them that but I don't obviously.
Keep it up girl - your results are going to knock your boots off!!!

I AM SOOOOO EXCITED!!!! Sat, I am meeting my BEACHBODY coach that is the TOP trainer in the COUNTRY for Beachbody, p90x products!!!

Let me tell you,...I STALKED THIS WOMAN!!! For the past 4 months, I have watched every single youtube video she has put on her channel. I have stalked her on facebook. I have found her on the Beachbody site. I even created an alternate email, just so that I could purchase a beachbody product so that SHE could be my coach!! I LOOK UP TO HER INSANELY!!! She is the epitomy of DISCIPLINED and SUCCESSFUL!!! Out of over a quarter million coaches from beachbody in the country she is in top 10!!!!! :eek: She has build her organization all online..because SHE IS A PRODUCT OF THE PRODUCT!!! She is on her way to make $500,000 this year, and is SO INSPIRING!!!

I reached out to her yesterday, and turns out she is HERE IN LA, TODAY, from Texas. She just flew out, & Invited me to come meet her in Santa Monica for a HUGE Beachbody event they are having!! I'm bringing my friend that does p90x with me too!! We are SOOOOOOOOOOO excited!! :jump:!! This woman just makes me want to be a BETTER PERSON!!! I think I love her! hahahahaa ...not in a lesbo way either. Just like a "will you adopt me as a worker in your mind and body, kinda way?!" LOL! :D!!! Regardless, YAYAYAYAYA ME!!!!! I wished it EVERYDAY for the past 4 months. I stalked and spent countless hours dreaming of her success!!! Everytime I didn't want to push play, I would watcher her videos and then YES, done!! TODAY, she text me!!! SHE IS A REAL PERSON!!! It's freaking INSANE!! It always shocks me when I meet online friends! This friend though, just may change my life FOREVER!!!!!!!!! You are the average of the 5 people you hang out with. ...Shit, once I am a product of the product...I want to be a BEACHBODY COACH too, and coach people to GIVE BACK! With all that workout yesterday I imagine you will get there if you keep it up! Your a machine woman! Glad to see you ate some of exercise points because you need to to keep it up and have the energy to carry on that intensely! Your muscles must be getting so strong!

Make friends, have people who are on your page, a shit load of accountability partners, and people to work with you, coach you and help you!!

Bring it!!! my eating was great today too! No alcohol for the weekend either or the week for that matter! Last Saturday was my last 3 shots. haha. I did crave a beer like hell today though. So sunny. So pretty. So thirsty. :drool5: ...I just kept working out, and the desire escaped me.
