Cottage Cheese???

I have found a way that you might like the taste of Cottage Cheese. You put about 1/2 cup in the center of a piece of bread. Sprinkle cinnamon over it and a little Sweet and Low (or whatever sweetner you prefer). Add a little butter on top and grill it for about 1 minute or less. (it has been a long time since I've made this so you may have to adjust any of the above). Anyway....this ends up tasting like Cheese Cake. I learned this at Weight Watcers years ago.

Oh yes......I think that white bread works the best..........

oh....you could put a tiny bit of brown sugar on top of the cottage cheese, cinnamon, & butter. Sugar won't hurt you if it is a small amount

I never really tried cottage Cheese with fruit. When i used to work at a salad buffet and they had pinnapple and cottage cheese and I thought that was just disgusting but I never tried it though. When I was young we used to eat hamburger helper and cottage cheese and that is so good so when i saw it with fruit I was kinda weirded out.

its just a good source of protein, low in carbs and fat depending on which one you choose. 114 grams of the one i get is 14 grams of protein, 7 grams of carbs and 0 fat :)

cottage cheese is awesome, i m used to the taste right now, the one i get is low fat, it has like 4g of sugar per serving but i dont think that matters. i m addicted to it and eat it straight out before goin to bed or n e time i want LOL :)

try mixing 1/2 a cup of breaker's small curd cottage cheese w/ splenda and a little vanilla

it's really yummy and it's only 90 cal. really good for diets :D

Take cottage cheese, then put a layer a fruit over it (strawberries and blackberries taste great) then top it with a layer of sliced almonds and granola. Very good for you and tastes like a fancy desert.

Like anything else though, cottage cheese has a downside, there is a lot of sodium in just about every type of it, might not be a problem for most of you but some people are supposed to be watching sodium. Just a little info for those of you on sodium restrictions, the low or no fat cottage cheese usually has more sodium than the others.

I like to eat it with sprouts, or with 12 Grain dry toast, also if you take slices of red or green peppers, or carrots, use it like a dip except use a spoon to eat it along side some raw veggies...
Start out in small portions, eat it a bit every day for a week and before you know it you wont notice your dislike for it.

Is there anything bad about having low-fat cottage cheese 30 minutes to 1 hr before bed after a workout? (this is after dinner) Like will it just be stored as fat?

Thanx

Here in Finland cottage cheese tastes like candy. I always eat it like that, or in breads.

Tim: no, it won't just be stored as fat.

The best way to eat it is on crackers! mmm.......

Totally agree....Jacobs cream crackers to be precise. Tried Cottage cheese for the first time last night (I spread it quite thinly I admit) but, it wasn't too bad - I thought it would taste stronger. Will try using a little more tonight.

a bowl of c.c. with about a spoonful of strawberry jam is great. i think the jam, because its sugar, transports the protein really quickly into the blood stream as well... but i could be wrong...

The guy i work with said he puts cottage cheese on his baked potatoe. He said its delicious. Just a suggestion, Im gonna try it.
