Cottage Cheese???

Cottage cheese

Is great on baked potatoes! I like to have it with salsa - dipping celery, peppers, carrots and whatever other veggie you like. I have also used a hand blender to puree it into a veggie soup. Gives the soup a creamy texture and gives you extra protein. I'm having it right now with 1/2 peach, and a scoop of fat free vanilla yogurt... man I could go on for hours!

I've also seen it named huttenkase...well, actually it has a double dot on one or more of the vowels but I've forgotten which vowels and I also can't find those on the keyboard. :)

I like it with squeezed lemon and a bit of sambal.
Or on bread with any sort of sliced meat or fish on it and tomatos.
It also makes great salad dressing. :p

You guys are very fortunate. I tried to like it - I really, really tried! I just can't get past the consistency of it.

I have reverted to a protein shake as my late night snack so, I still get the cassein from the milk.

Cottage cheese with crushed pineapple is tasty. For a decent well rounded 'meal'(if you are on the 5-6 meal a day plan) I mix lowfat cottage cheese with lowfat strawberry yogurt. When I was younger I couldn't stomach either of these, now I slap 'em together...mmm mmm good.

i think i found out why it taste great on baked potatoes. It taste like sour cream with a bit of something in it. This was the first time i tried it, i think i am going to try mixing fruits in it. need to work my way to by it self!!

Clotted cream is totally different to cottage cheese. Clotted cream is a really rich cream that you have with tea and scones :)
You should definately be able to buy it in Sainsburys', just ask someone in the store to show you where it is.

try getting two peices of toast put vegemite on one slice (cause vegemite is quite healthy) and put cottage cheese on the other slice and put them together, i think it tastes great.
