Cottage cheese an dlosing weight

hey guys, im currently on a diet tryin to lose weight / fat, wud it be a good idea to make a tub of cottage cheese my last meal of the night as i heard it slow ya metabolism, therefore i wont feel peckish thru the night? and i say last meal, and not before i go bed

In its most basic format: It is the law of energy balance (on the negative side of the energy equation for tissue loss), that matters the most (the bottom line if you will). Eating cotto before bed is fine in my opinion as long as your in a caloric deficit. Sure the metabolism slows when one is sleeping (calories are burned approximately 60 to 80c per hour based several different factors as one is sleeping). If this fits your 24 hour clock, say its 9P and you eat 2 servings of fat free (say 140c), and sleep 8 hours, and still in deficit, take the 8 hours times 60 to 80 (and this period is part of the 24 hour cycle), and then subtractthe 140c example... there are no problems.......see what Im basically getting to in this fundelmental set? The correct kind of cotto is good food to eat, no complaints.

Cottage cheese would be fine, although I don't know about a whole tub though, if you are trying to maintain a deficit.

depends on the size of the tub. a whole cup of cottage cheese is only 20-something grams of protein...if that's the tub size in the UK, its probably the right serving size of you at bedtime.

I missed that, "a tub". Do you mean the entire cotto container? I dont recommend that, however, But, with that said, if your STILL in deficit, its all good, with the exception of a variety set. Yes, I forgot about the differing measuring systems, so you could be right.

For example this is what I eat before bed sometimes (with a NEW 24 hour cycle starting at 12A, that is): 1 serving (measured) PB with ONE slice of pita bread, 1 can of tuna, a small salad (with veggies), and a small grapefruit. A nice variety. I dont worry about the fruit before bed, its doesnt effect my body that much, and blood sugar rise, is minimal.

remember, i also said eat the cottage cheese as a last 'meal' so its not assive im havin it as an aded extra, the only reason id want it as a last meal is that..... later on in the night i tend to get pekish.... and i cant sleep when im hunary, so i end up eatin late on! so maybe the cottage cheese as last meal at like 8pm/9pm will stop late night hunger, while also providing me a meal? heres the tub ratio i have:

100g has 85kcal
14.4g protein
4g carbs and
1g fat

and i full tub is 650g

is this to much for a last meal?

Good, your listening to your bodily responses, and trying to combat the situation.

FAT FREE Cotto (same nutrients, and can allow for more food bulk, and is low in calories) before bed, like one to two servings is all fine. I dont recommend 650g, though, I do recommend, 1 to 2 servings, ALONG WITH something else from a different food group, that you LIKE (CLEAN), coupled with it, as LONG as your still in deficit for the ongoing 24 hour period. I attempt to hit the three important nutrients at each meal (fat, carb, and protein, and lean pretty heavily on the complex carb side of the equation rather than the simple carb side, though I do eat simple carbs).
