Hey hey... glad you decided to get yourself a scale. I will admit when I get on a roll I do become fixated on it. I weight myself when I get up and right before bed just so I'll have a rough idea of what my scale will say in the morning. In a way though, it keeps me excited to see that number get smaller and smaller. It also helps keep me on track when I'm really in that mode. I'm trying to get myself back on track so I'm hoping the scale will help me out once again.

I hope your move went well!

So, how did the move go? How's the unpacking going? I always kind of liked that part, well mostly just figuring out where to put stuff. lol! :)

Just wanted to check in really quick. The move went alright. I'm still unpacking stuff. Started my new job yesterday, which has been a little nuts. Lots and lots of training, but I think I'll like it once I actually get started on real work there. I have no idea what my weight is at the moment, as I haven't purchased a scale yet. You guys have any recommendations for a new scale? I know there's a ton of fancy ones now that would make my old one look like a giant piece of shit. I'll try to get up to date on everyone's diaries over the next couple of days.

You guys have any recommendations for a new scale?

I just go by Amazon recommendations for digital scales. Some also give body fat percentages by measuring resistance through your feet, though that may be more fancy than you need. I can tell you to avoid a solar-powered one - I had to hold it up to the bathroom lights for a minute or two every time I weighed myself, and even then it could blink out if I wasn't quick enough.

Hi sweetie! :seeya:Hang in there!

I LOVE my Weight Watchers digital scale bought at Wal-Mart.

It is so accurate and is only 0.3 off from Dr. Office Scale! That can be very tough to find a scale that is so close to dr. office. lol

Get some rest! ;)

Ok, so I ordered a scale. It's digital and goes in 0.2 lb increments, which is nice, but it would have been better if I could have gotten one that does body fat content.........but those scaled cost like $60 and I wasn't quite prepared to spend that much on it. It should get here on Monday. :D

So....I'm liking my job so far. I got to go down to the manufacturing floor yesterday and see satellites being built, which was cool as shit. And I found out that the company offers a lot of continuing education classes and I could potentially take some of those and move into my dream job in a couple years, so that's great. I also feel like I'm finally settling in. I've done a lot of work today to finish unpacking and only have a few boxes left. If I could get those and all the empty ones out of the way then I could do some cleaning and that would be great. I've gone to look at one barn already and will probably look at one or two more this week. It's be great to find a new place to ride. I think tomorrow I'll finally go try out that gym I mentioned before. I'm a little disappointed in the available GroupX classes here. The variety is fine, but most of them aren't offered until 6:30 pm or later and I was hoping I could hit it up right after work and I generally get off between 4 and 5. I've been eating really well this week too. No eating out and a lot of soups/stews. The crock pot is my best friend and I think it will continue to be. :p

It sounds like things are going well! I need to dust my crockpot off and start using it for dinners again. We eat out entirely too much, but I rather like not having to cook or clean up afterwards!

AmyLu, the crockpot is definitely a life saver. It basically got me through college. :p

Cate, found my gym. It was awesome, see below.

Q, thanks for the support!

Today was really good. I got some stuff done around the house and am almost done unpacking. I think either during nights this week or this coming weekend I can knock it out for good. I made a casserole for tomorrow, so dinner will be easy. It's a chile rellonos casserole and I'm really excited to eat it, I won't lie. I also went to the gym. Well, it's not a gym exactly. It's some sketchy room on the second floor of this weird building that has been outfitted to be a workout dance studio. Today I went and did blacklight zumba and it was SO. FUN. Think regular zumba, but with club lighting that makes people way more willing to get nasty than they otherwise might be. Food was good today too.

Breakfast: none
Lunch: Salmon patties, baked potato with sour cream, sauteed kale - 768 calories
Dinner: Spicey black bean soup - 317 calories
Snack: Kefir - 120 calories
Total: 1205 calories

Tomorrow I'm going to tour another barn, and if I get done with that soon enough I might be able to make it over ot my gym to do another blacklight zumba class.

Excellent Cory :D That sounds like FUN. I loved Zumba, but it almost killed me as I can't NOT do what everyone else is doing. I have to do it as well as people half my age. I love exercising to music! I'm glad you have found something you love :)

Thanks guys! It's definitely the right place for me. :D

Ok, so I finally got my scale. It says I've lost like 6 lbs this month, but I'm going home this weekend so I'm going to check it against the scale I was using to see how far off it might be. I did zumba yesterday and it was great. I really wanted to do it again today, but I think I need to work back up to do it back to back without a recovery day in between. That's how I got an overuse injury before. I cooled it at home today and just did some stuff around the house. It was actually a pretty productive evening and I got a lot done.

Today was good. I went to that zumba class again and I think I made a friend. Or, met someone with the potential to become a friend if that makes sense. Work was also good today. I'm starting to do real work instead of just training stuff. Food was also good today.

Breakfast: Greek yogurt and pineapple - 282 calories
Lunch: Ham and bean soup - 560 calories
Dinner: Cabbage rolls - 844 calories
Snack: Strawberries - 50 calories
Total: 1323 calories

Overall it was a good day.

Sounds like you're settling in really well, very glad to hear it! Packing your bags and restarting life isn't the easiest thing ever, kudos to you.

Frequency, just like intensity, needs to be ramped up gradually. Real work and a potential friend are both nice developments. Keep killing it Cory!

Thanks for the encouragement, guys!

So, I lost close to three pounds this week. That's pretty awesome. Over the weekend, I got to go home and ride horses for the first time since I moved. That was a lot of fun. I rode the mare I had been riding a lot before I moved. Apparently I'm the only one who can really ride her successfully that's in the lesson program, which surprised me a little. Food has been pretty good. My mom bought us Easter candy and I ate a reasonable amount and left the rest there for me to nibble on next time I visit home. I had originally planned today to be a day with a deficit again, but I was ravenous by the time I made it back home and decided to do a calorie neutral day instead. I realized that I probably felt that way because I've had a deficit every day for the last week and a half to two weeks. I try to pick a day once a week or every other week where I eat calorie neutral or sometimes even an excess because it keeps my body from freaking out and wanting to binge. Come to think of it, with the amount of exercise I've been doing, a day without a deficit was probably a good choice. Also, today makes two weeks soda free.

It sounds like you have had a really good time Cory. Well done on the loss honey ?
