Okay, I'm back.
Installed a new heat sink and CPU fan yesterday, so that's all good.
Checked my weight this morning, and was a pound down from yesterday. I suspect I will be doing daily weigh-ins until I lose the Thanksgiving weight.
I had a good time over the weekend. Indulged a lot, yes, but I decided that I wasn't going to worry about it and just enjoyed the time "off". Ate out at restaurants, had the big family dinner, ate desserts, even some pure junk food (which surprised me, I thought I was over that stuff, but apparently not).
Thanksgiving dinner was interesting as it showed me that, despite all the lifestyle change, some ingrained habits are hard to alter.
I had a big plate of food, which these days would be more than enough for me - in fact nowadays I would generally feel ill after that much food. I finished my plate and automatically went and loaded up a second plate and ate that.
Why? Because I always eat that much at the big family dinner. This is the first big family dinner I have been at since my lifestyle change, and I guess I was in automatic eating mode.
Ate two desserts, too.
Needless to say, I felt really ill afterwards.
I tried to stay semi-active while down there. We were down for four days, and for three of them I went for a 45-minute walk up and down the big steep hill that my mother-in-law lives on.
I also went to a gym on one day and did weight training. I didn't write it all down, but it was pretty similar to my usual routine.
Yesterday was a recovery day, I guess. Was still run down from the trip, and I think I may be (or have been) developing a cold or flu, because I felt awful yesterday, didn't get any exercise at all, fell asleep on the couch, and ate some bad food.
It was really odd - I guess all the salt, sugar, fat and starch of the last few days had an effect on me, because I went and bought a small bag of clodhoppers and a bag of party mix - this is something I have not done since I started my quest. I ate most of the clodhoppers and half of the party mix (so let's say about 50g of each) before throwing them in the trash.
This morning I felt pretty good, so after dropping my daughter of at school I hit the pool for a 1000m swim. I haven't been swimming in a couple weeks and it showed. I was slow and feeble. It took me 45 minutes to do my set, 5 minutes longer than normal. I did feel virtuous for having done it, though.
Got home from the pool to find out I have to go in for the midnight shift tonight and tomorrow night - short notice shift changes.
Tomorrow morning I also have another physio appointment for my ankle.
Well, that's my recap. Hope everyone is doing well.
