Hello all
I need your help. I started going to the gym yesterday. I did about 1 1/2 hours and burned only 460 cal. Today I worked out again for 2 hours burning 680 cal. My question is if I only burned 680 cal. Would that mean I need to eat less, so I still burned some calories? I found a formula somewhere here on the site that if my ideal weight is 120. I would need to eat 1765.5 calories. But I don't get it. How can I eat that much if I only burn off about 400-600 calories. Do I need to exercise better? Faster? I signed up for the FitDay website. It says with my basal, lifestyle, and activities. I burned 3337 calories. Is that why it's okay to eat 1765.5 cal in a day?
I mean today I was really hungry. I felt like I was starving myself which I read isn't good at all. Today I only probably less than 600 cal because I thought that I can only eat whatever calories I worked off.
Also I'm just doing cardio so far: treadmill, eliptical, bicycling. Is this okay? Just cardio work out? I heard something about strengthening exercise, but I'm not sure what that means? Weight lifting? Push-ups? My co-worker says I should try going in the steam room in my gym because it gets the water out or something like that.
Sorry if I sound such an idiot, but if I don't ask I'll be making mistakes left and right.
