Confessions of a Nutritionist

Ok here it goes... I am overweight and out of shape and I'm a nutritionist. It's not that I don't know what, why and how to do it. So, why am I again 50 lbs overweight? Is it that the first 20 yrs of bad eating with no activity just ingrained so deep? Is it really my busy schedule, stress of bills, work, etc. ? All the excuses I could come up with, believe me I've used them. HELL I'm still using them. How long will it take before the excuses run out? Tomarrow, will I get up @ the crack of dawn to walk, will I make it through the day without graping for the familar and comfortable food that I've grown so accustomed to? These habits run deep.

Hi there!! Don't worry...I think everyone struggles no matter their line of work. Nothing to be ashamed of! I was reminded of that today. Habits do run deep, but with enough hard work and patience, we can overcome them. Good luck on your journey nutritionist!!

Thats the spirit ;) Walking right in the morning is rather nice, and refreshing. However first few times of doing it... is a little hard if you're not a morning person heheh.

Best of luck, hope these forums help you along your way, heck you could share with us some of that knowledge you have being a nutritionist!

Shall keep checking in on your diary! :seeya:

For the longest time I just stayed overweight because I simply didn't like most healthy food. I still don't like vegetables. Just knowing how to lose the weight isn't always enough.

Good luck. You have more tools available to you than most of us. You can totally do this.

Having knowledge and the application of knowledge are two different things. I am in the same boat as you are..most of us are. We know what we should be doing, we just don't. That is why we are here, to help ourselves and each other change those habits to the right ones. It is a slow process but it can be done.

Thanks to all for your support. I will continue to struggle with this but I just have to continue to believe that I can do it. I'm starting by packing a brown bag. I can commit to that; no more expensive, high kcal lunches out. Today I brought grilled chicken leftovers and a salad.
