Confessions of a food Junkie

Good morning guys,

I was up late last night figuring things out. Kyle's parents are going to lend us the money *whew*

I'm glad my whole extended family considers me an investment while I'm going to school, so they don't mind helping out once in a while. It's hard because in my program at school I had to go to New Mexico for a week and then take classes until sometime in June and that trip made me lose a job for the summer. Now this next summer I will be completely finished in April so it will be easier to find a job for over 4 months.

Thank you guys for the support. I don't really get those kind words from else where often so it's very appreciated and taken to heart!

My son Telaryn is 3 1/2 but he's about the size of a 4 or 5 year old in height and weight (big boy..my frame, dad's height thankfully). I think that I might enjoy a second go by myself...we'll test it out on saterday if he can make it...if not well we'll bring a wagon and I'll pull him along.

14/07/06 weigh in:314.5 lbs

*faints* ummm is this possible....I weighted about half way through the day on wednesday and I was 320.....friday morning 5 .5 lbs gone????

Weighing yourself first thing in the morning, is when you get your lowest weight - and the most motivating.. because you've gone about 8 hours without food or drink... and you're dehydrated...

It's an accurate number but to really see what you are losing - you want to weigh at the same time every week...

But look at you go, girlie, 5.5 pounds down? That's awesome!!!

Your food is excellent!! Great job. Also the walking is doing you a lot of good. I love how happy you are when you're so sweaty - just keep hold of that motivation and you'll be meeting your goals before you know it.
Go Belly Busters!!!

Hey Miss Kallie! I was reading through your diary and I must say WOW! First of all, you have a plan and you have the motivation to follow through with it. That is WONDERFUL. Also I love how planned out you are. I am the same exact way about things. I'm always planning. Maybe it is a teacher thing, haha. I'm studying to become a teacher right now as well. You are doing an AMAZING job. Keep up the great work. Hope you have a Happy happy Friday!!!!

Hey Miss Kallie,

Well, I'll be starting my final year in August. In the fall I start my student teaching. I'm very excited. I'm going for early childhood, elementary, and art. I would really love to be a kindergarten teacher. I think I remember you saying in your diary you were going for native studies for middle school??? I saw on your location thing, that says your from Canada. I wonder if there is a big difference in the requirements in becoming a teacher. I know there can be here depending on what state your planning to teach in.

Lily ~ There probably is. Here we have to have a bacholor of education (atleast 4 years of university) to get to teach at all. There are specific requirements for elementary level and highschool levels, but once you have your degree, you can basically teach whatever they make you.

When I'm done, I'll have atleast 18 credit hours in native studies, 12 credit hours in drama, 6 credit hours in english, 3 credit hours in geology (natural science), 3 credit hourse in kin, 6 credits in sociology, 6 credits in french and then all of my credits that you need for the education part like edcurriculum studies, ed phychology studies, ed foundation studies, and ed administration, plus 6 credits in ed electives.

I'm only starting my second of 4 years this september, but in term two I aready get to teach/intern for 2 weeks, then 3rd year we go for one month interning and then in 4th year, we go for a whole semester, so by the time I graduate, I'll have tons of in class experience.:)

A tiny bit on the low side for me, but I feel like I've had enough.

I like to see how I do in the food catagories and here's my break down: I had 1 1/2 to 2 servings of milk product, 10 full servings of veggies and fruits, 3 meat/meat alternative servings, 4 grain product servings, and 2 other servings. I would have had a perfect day if I had one more grain serving!

We're about to head out on the family walk in about 10 minutes.

Miss K - you did GREAT today!! Sometimes it is nice to see the breakdown! I haven't been doing that online because I get lazy ;)

Hope you're enjoying your walk!

Thanks guys,

I just got back from my walk. So I feel sore after this one. I got the mile done in 15 minutes and then we stopped at the park for a while. It was nice. I'm sweating like a pig and my calfs and butt hurt LOL :) I was going to go for a second mile but I pushed too hard the first time, so tomorrow I won't walk so hard and I'll do the second mile. I hope to do it in 40 mins.

I drink about 2.3 litres a day (80 oz, sometimes 96, I just don't record the last 16 ozs). If I drink anymore I would pee the bed LOL :)

So this is my first weekend at home on the challange. I really want to do exellent. I think we are going to put my son's slip and slide outside for him and I'm going to finish painting my room finally! and don't forget good ol housework!

Miss K -
I'm TRYING to forget good ol housework ;)

Good for you for walking, and for not pushing yourself to where you'll get too sore and won't walk tomorrow. Moderation is SUCH the key!

I remember when I first began my cardio exercise I could like barley do 25 minutes at 3 mph and felt dizzy after. Now I do like 1 hour at 4mph and when im done I dont feel dizzy or anything like that. Your body will get used to it, just make sure you walk everyday and in a month or less you will have way more energy and can probably walk much more.

I have been doing that since September 2005 and up to this point I lost 95 pounds now, I need to update my ticker. I really suggest investing into a treadmill if you can afford it, I used all my summer job money to buy one but I am really satisfied with what it has done for me.

Walking outside can be real good, but the treadmill I can make myseld walk or jog faster and add a incline which really helps.

good luck.

Yea, I really want a treadmill but unfortunately I am a student with no job and can't afford one until sept, when I get my student loan *pouts*

For now I don't mind the outside exercise because it's so nice out...but come winter that treadmill will be my best friend :D oh and in september I get free membership to the gym at my university so I have planned 3 days a week to go there..and possibly try a personal trainer eep!

Oh and what a fabulous job on the 95 lbs loss. I can't wait until I'm there! Time goes by so fast, I'll be there before I know it.

Hey, teammate - you are going to love the gym. I wish I could afford a personal trainer, but that costs too much. Our Y does have the personal fitness program, though, which is kind of like a group training thing. Keep on walking in the meantime! :)

It's subsidized...I think mainly because we pay tuition fees for the gym and then I think the trainers are kin students (some of them anyways), so it's cheaper or at least that's what I've been told.

I took a stepper aerobics class 5 years ago and I LOVED it!!! They offer all sorts of classes at this gym and I think once I've lost about 50 or 60 lbs I want to join one. I think I should be able to function in the class *beginners* at 270lbs...hopefully :D
