concentrate curls :|

um some1 clear this up, i thought wen u do concentrated curls (u no for ure biceps, like lean over and arm lodged into ure knee kinda),
should u be doing a full rep all the way down so ure arms 180degrees
or should u do like a rep of down to aroun 45 degrees 90 degrees like short ones onli half way down then back up..??
i thought it was full rep which i feel the most out of, and this guy was telling some new guy at the gym to do the half curls and stuff :S
wat is it?

Tell that guy he's an idiot. You want your arm to go down as far as possible with the pressure still on your bicep ie. don't bring it down so much that there is zero pressure on your bicep. After that bring it back up and repeat, same as you've been doing thus far.

is there this '21' thing where you do 7 smaller lower movements, 7 smaller tighter into your arm and 7 full?

im not saying its right, but i have heard about changing motion. personally i think if your going for an overall look just go for a balanced full motion.

yeah i have done those they work pretty damn good i think. What you do is stand straight up like you are going to do a hammer curl but only bring the dumbbells up to make a ninety degree angle at your elbow and squeeze for a few seconds. Go back down to complete the rep and concentrate on keeping your elbows in and using only biceps. Then you start at the top and go down to a ninety degree angle squeezing then going back up. Finally do a complete hammer curl holding at the top and squeezing. They work really well for developing the edges of your bicep such as at the bottom and up the sides. I do preacher curls now though because they work the entire bicep better. 21's are a good mix up though to keep your biceps jacked.

i think concentration curls are useless. just do normal preacher curls.
I've done nothing but concentration curls the past 3 months and added 1.5 inches to my arms..

Back to the original poster's question, the guy was telling you about 21's as someone earlier explained. Also, this is not idiocy as another poster earlier said. 21's are great for bicep building...just do it sparingly as you would drop-sets...dont make it an "every time out routine".

If you only do part of the range of motion and don't fully extend the arm, you can shorten the stretch of the biceps. then you walk around with your arms bent all the time until you slowly stretch em back to normal.
