Complete and Utter Newbie - Help and Advice Needed`

Hello everyone; I am new here and in search of advice.

I am 31 years old, and I have not worked out or formally exercised at all since I graduated from High School (case in point - for the first time in 5 years, today I bought a pair of sneakers). I used to live in New York City, and walked pretty much everywhere, but a few years ago, I moved away, and I find myself leading a more lethargic lifestyle.

There are two reasons that I want to start working out - I have zero endurance for anything physical; after a few minutes of running or exerting myself I am huffing and puffing. Also, I percieve myself as being generally phycially weak. Growing up I was the proverbial 98 pound weakling; granted I weigh more now, but not much else has changed.

I am in good health, not overweight (although I am at the upper threshold for my height), although I have grown a decent gut in the past few years, and I am looking for a regime that when all is said and done, will leave me being able to do something physical for more than a few minutes.

Thanks for your time,
Andrew
