Colon Cleansers to lose weight

Did you know the average person has 10 pounds or more of old un-eliminated waste sitting dormant in the large intestine? Overweight people may have up to 30lbs. With the new year approaching, this is a good time to 'start fresh' by buying a good colon cleanser to clean yourself out before starting a new diet or training routine!

Has anyone tried one that works well? If so, feel free to list below.

Yeah, last year I had a colonoscopy, the pre-scope prep calls for plenty of cleansers, the best one was the first one, and the cheapest, about $2 at any drug store, it comes in a bottle that almost looks like a soda. Drink the whole thing just before bed, the next morning you'll expell just about everything.

I didnt but with my goal being to lose 20lbs I'm thinking its time to hit the colon cleansers!!!! so anyone tried these? will it help me fit into my Tux on saturday night........:)

Cheers, I am hitting kitchen and starting back at the gym (properly) in an hours time!

Think I'll take the colonic irrigation root instead.........

While it's true that most people would benefit from an occasional enema don't expect it to magically get rid of that 20 pound layer of fat covering your body...

You don't really have that much waste lying around in your intestines unless you have some sort of digestive problem. Trust me, I prep people for colonoscopies all the time, they don't expel that much waste, and you can clearly see on camera that they're "empty." The "soda" you're talking about is Magnesium Citrate. Good way to dehydrate yourself and become ill. Your body is pretty efficient at eliminating waste, don't let anyone fool you into thinking it needs your help.

Yeah, that's the stuff. I only used it in prep for the colonoscopy, never before, and never since... was just saying that it did some serious "cleaning out."

I recently had a surgery that required a colon prep - clear liquids for 24 hours, magnesium citrate, and an enema - I was 100% cleaned out - and didn't lose any weight. So much for the 10lbs of waste...

Yeah you might lose a few pounds of water weight because you're dehydrated, but that will hopefully come back once you're eating and drinking normally again! Colon cleansers are a fad that is potentially harmful. I think it's good to get rid of waste occasionally if you have serious constipation issues. Otherwise, normal healthy adults don't need to do anything extra. Let Mother Nature do her thing. :)
