College Has Killed Me...Temporarily.

Hello everyone!

So, I'm a college student. :) 20 years old, a sophomore. I've been here in the past, and keeping this diary contributed a lot to the motivation it required to lose almost 30 pounds.

Now, after gaining back around 15 pounds of that, I am back! I'm also excited, motivated, and sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for this to get started!

Like many girls and their diaries, I will most likely pour my heart out here, so I will apologize in advance if you come to my journal expecting to read about my latest workout and end up reading paragraph upon paragraph about the boys in my life or how much school is sucking. haha

So I guess thanks for stopping by! :waving:

Hey welcome back :) I'm a sophomore in college too... so it looks like we are on the same page! I'll be sure to check back on your diary... stop by mine if you'd like :) It's called, "Inspired, motivated, and READY"

I've got about 15 pounds to lose myself, so if you need a buddy I'm here :waving:

Thanks for stopping by guys! :)

Well, I didn't go too much into specifics in my initial post, so I guess now is a good time (while I actually have some time!).

My name is Kristi. Like I said, I'm 20, and I am a sophomore at a small liberal ats college in Ohio, Wittenberg University. Fun fact, Wittenberg was featured on MTV's True Life, where a girl who was "fat and proud" created a club called "Body Beautiful," which, in a nut shell, was made for people who believed that all body types are beautiful. I guess that's pretty cool, but I'd rather be healthy and beautiful, ya know?

So any way, I'm a soccer player. Been playing since I was 4, so it's like second nature to me. I play here at Witt, and right now we are just about to start up our Winter regimen...

Monday - My own workout
Tuesday - 30-40 minute conditioning session in the gym (basketball drills and sprints mostly)
Wednesday - Full body lifting session from hell
Thursday - Not sure...once it gets a little warmer, we run outside, but the snow is preventing that as of right now
Friday - My own workout

So that's my schedule, and my workouts generally consist of some treadmill, some elliptical, and some abs. They're very subject to change, however.

Okay, so I think that's enough background...on to today.

Busy, busy, busy. Keeps me on my toes but also allows for smaller workout gaps. Regardless, today I worked my ass off on the elliptical for 30 minutes. Level 9 resistance at about 9 mph the whole time. My legs have never felt more like jello. I'm also sore as hell from doing an upper body workout (for the first time in about a year). I just chose a line of machines and did 3 sets of 10 reps for each of them. My biceps, pecs, and lats are soooo sore. It's a good kind of pain, shows that I actually worked hard.

I just got back from dinner. Had a toasted sub with ham, salami, provolone, banana peppers, lettuce, onions, light mayo, and of course potato chips. haha Not the healthiest, but that's 100x better than some of the stuff I could have been eating.

I'm nervous because today is Witt Wednesday, and since I like to have a social life and party, I'm going out. The drinking part is not too bad, honestly since I'm a lightweight, but it's the coming back and bashing all of my food part that makes me nervous. We'll keep our fingers crossed! haha

Okay, well that's about it for now! I hope everyone had a great Wednesday!

Last night went...alright. It's really up in the air at this point as to whether or not last night hurt me or helped me.

So moving on to today's food...

Breakfast - banana
Lunch - WAY TOO MUCH...darn it.
Dinner - Salad (bacon, chicken, feta cheese, cucumbers, onions, and fat-free italian), and some cheese Quake rice snacks

And now I'm just hangin out, waitin for my food to digest, so I can go work out!

Damn cafeteria food! LOL but there are healthy ways to eat there, I'm sure will you figure out a balance soon! I love rice cakes... they make great snacks. Sometimes I'll have one with some peanut butter on it when I'm on the go. Yummm!

Hi! I'm also a student trying to lose weight, looks like there are a few of us here!
You're exercise schedule sounds great, good luck with reaching your goals, you can do it!

Thanks again, guys! Skkroll, my rice snacks are cheddar, so I'm not sure how great peanut butter would taste with them! :p

Boo.

I've been doing terribly. :/ My commitment level just has not been up to par. This new week (including today) has has HAS to be different. I have to work out for soccer, so my diet is going to be my biggest test!

So today I woke up at like 11:30. Jeez. No time for breakfast, so I just got back from lunch. I ate a chicken parmesan sub with a bag of kettle cooked bbq chips.

Now I just got done running around my room getting it all cleaned up after a crazy weekend of trying on 1000 outfits and just throwing the losers on the ground! haha

I'm thinking that 4:30ish is my time to work out. Hopefully my roommate will want to trek up there with me, so we can push each other. I really want to do an upper body lift, and having a buddy there makes it easier.

I'll report back after my workout!

Hi there!

I'm glad I stumbled upon your diary, I am in a similar situation. I'm 20 year old college junior with a very similar goal (15/20 pounds) so I know how tough and tempting it can be in college. Well, I'm looking forward to checking back in on your progress and best of luck to you!

Susan
