Herm - welcome to coehn's. I agree with the others that Vaalia yoghurt is the best. If you still struggle maybe add a tiny bit of sugarine to sweeten it up a bit.

I have my four week weigh in at the end of the week and whiole in the first few weeks I thought I was losing weight, last night I looked at myself in the mirror and thought I hadn't lost a thing. Is my mind playing tricks on me?

Hello all!!!

Welcome all newcomers to Cohen!!! Its great to see the numbers growing.... and the numbers on the weighing scale going down... :p
Cocobrandy, you have done so well!!! I have not been able to lose 11kg in a month... mine is like 6kg at the most.. and even lesser from the 2nd month onwards...
talking about old clothes... the other day i have just had a friend over to bring all the clothes back... most of them are way too loose... i am just left with the few to wear to work... not wanting to buy any but the fact that i am able to wear XL skirts really excites me..
Lets continue to work hard to bring the weight down!!!! :D

Loving the support

Hi all

the support everyone gives is so cool. thanks to everyone for sharing there funny/sad/inspiring stories. If I am hungry, bored and thinking about food, procrastinating and thinking about food... I immense myself in the forum to take the thought of food away from my mind. I know my body doesn't need it, but I tell you.l.. sometimes I want to devour the fridge!

do you know what I have been doing since starting Cohens..... I only shop at the Vic market for fresh fruit/veg/meat etc, and the nearby asian grocer for other things, then I only go to Aldi for the condiments, and washing powders etc... that way I can not buy yummy food that is no good for me. it's working well. I always have heaps of fresh food etc, but not too much junk (token stuff for kids which I don't like anyway).

Well thank you to everyone and I will do my ticker on Monday morning. I am already feeling less bloated. yay!

I think I will have to change my goal weight though... it was 61 - 61, but since there was talk re stabilizing easier at the lower weight, I might aim for there..... but will see how I feel at 63.

Cheers for now.

Tania, can I ask what date you started Coehn's? Our stats are similar and I'm trying to compare.

Ticker Update...

This may sound strange to you all... but when i started this lifestyle change i was in a size 24-26 pants to accomodate my tree stump thights... and i was buying size 24 tops... this was that i felt so ashamed of my size. When shoping in the larger sections of k-mart, target and places i always kept my head down and if i did purchase anything i always took it off the hanger. When shopping with my friends now i seem to always be browsing in the plus size section... i know this may sound strange but now that i am a size 18 top and a 18 skirt though i feel i need a 16 skirt... i have to remind myself that i no longer need this section. When i think of it i smile to myself. I can fit into trendy clothes from jeanswest but hey they have changed their jean sizes as when i last bought jeans i had a pair of black mens 36 waist and they are now way too big... but when i was in melbourne i went to buy some and i was disgusted at myself as i wuld have had to buy size 40's. NO WAY i was doing that... now i just have to wait to fit into these again... it was to say a huge disapointment and it put me off shopping for the whole day. I think i walked around with a grump on.

As i have been diagnosed with PCOS 2 yrs ago, and a thyroid problem 12 months ago i thought it was high time i got it all rechecked as 35+kg's can do a lot. I am hoping that the blood tests i have been sceduled to have on my next cycle will confirm that indeed i am ovulating again and that my chances to fall pregnant with our first child sometime in the first half of next year will look promising... But i can't get my hopes up... but possibly that is too late... :) Anyways i will keep you all informed of the results...To anyone diagnosed with PCOS keep your chin up, i have a feeling this program could be our saviour (Since it was structured for fertility).

Mitmary... When is the seminar in kalg... 1st nov? Hubby and i have been asked to speak as well but i am not as i still have 30kg to go... i have been trying to convince him to give it a go as he is at refeed but i don't think he will. Look forward to seeing your transformation at the seminar.
Congradulations to you with your fantastic achievement... WELL DONE!!

Well i have rang and ordered hubby's fefeed program... should be here in the next week or so... I am so very proud of him... he has 1kg to go before he is at the high end of his goal weight...He is getting hungry a lot sooner now... but i just can't keep a smile from my face now when i look at him... I loved him before as he was and now i know he is happy with himself and he can't keep the smile off his face either...

To you all keep going the results are worth every day of this plan wether it be 8 weeks, 8 months or longer stick with it...
I will work out how to post some before, after and during (in my case)

Hey everyone. just ticked over my 2nd week and I have lost a total of 12cm. havent weighed myself yet. trying to hang out till 4 weeks. feeling fantastic, cant believe how much energy I have now. I was about 97kg's when I started looking to get down to about 60 but I will wait and see how I feel. I think 60 will be too thin. I dont have any scales so I had to weigh myself on a huge set of scales at work, so I dont know how accurate they are (scales weigh up to 1.5 tonne)

Herm - I eat Vaalia yoghurt as well with a bit of sweetener in it or even some grated apple. If it makes you feel better I was dry reaching when I first started eating the yoghurt but now I love it cause it is so easy to prepare.
Talk to you all soon.

TASMAN82 I can so relate to you talking about buying clothes in the plus sizes sections of the shops! Your comment about taking the hanger off!! soooo true. Am sick of feeling the embarrassment and just not being able to walk into a normal size shop and grabbing something off the rack with a smile and not another thought. Well we are on our way!
Good luck with falling pregnant...I wish you all the best.

Thanks for the yogurt tips!

Jools - I am glad to hear that I was not the only one having trouble with the yogurt! I just could not believe how bad it was - will have to try that vaalia one - it seems to be the favourite around here!

Feeling good again today - but still that niggling headache.

And after being a SAHM for just over 4 years now (worried about how much info the brain will soak up!) - I have to go and do some software training for the rest of the week and am looking for any tips for a take in lunch and also any tips on what to have to give me a hit if my attention starts to wander!

Thanks
Janine

Herm I too am not a fan of the natural yogurt thing! But after cooking omlettes for a few mornings thought I'd give it a go. I bought the Vaalia natural yogurt and in a blender mixed it with a mango and a sweetner. Truly after 2 mornings of it I now really like it and it's so quick and easy when you have a busy morning.....I make it up at night time now and pop it in fridge for next morning. I noticed you said you picked the fruit out.....that's why I blend mine, the mango taste is all the way through.

Hi,
Just wondering what has happened to BAM??? Are you still out there? How is it all going?

I just got invited to a flash wine lunch at Ecco (Brissie's best restaurant) POO! BUM! WEE! I WANNA GO! But I can't. Please tell me this opportunity will come past again! It is times like this that I feel like throwing in the towel. Xmas parties, Melb cup Luncheons, wine launches ....AHHHHHHHH! HELP!

Whinge, whinge, whinge....I will look bloody awsome by the end of this! And feel fantastic. I will be heard saying, 'Wine lunch at Ecco? What wine lunch at Ecco???' And looking HOT!

Sorry about that little lapse - just had to get it off my chest!

Anyone got any tips for moving the weight faster? I am following the programme to a T but I need to see those scales move. Not even my measurements have changed and I am losing my MIND! I want to be done by the beginning of December as we are away on a family holiday from 25th for 10 nights - all inclusive - that means all meals are provided. Eeek! Any pointers would be recieved with gratitude.

Well done to all you newcomers! Welcome aboard to the life chaniging Cohen's!

Righto - Bye for now.

NEVER FEAR ~BAM~ IS HERE!

8-2 Much- Ive just been lerking around abit lately, been extreamly busy with work and moving house etc... and i havent had time to scratch myself..

I have no news to post, Cohen's is going well.. im happy with the size i am at the moment, feeling skinnier by the day, compliements left right & centre which is fantastic! All in all im doing really well!!! And i hope all of you are aswell :)

Im sorry i dont have anything to say today.. Work is driving me nuts, too much to do and not enough time :(

Take care everyone, you are all doing so well.. Mwwwah xx

Hey Louise.....Dinner tonight is chicken breast baked in casserole dish on top of asparagus spears, zuchinni, tomato and little bit of onion. Splash of asparagus water from tin. Oh and the chicken is coated in herbs, thyme, garlic etc........it's actually quite nice.
Yeah I'd love to know what everyone else is having for dinner too! would be great to get some ideas.

Bon appetite all!!!

Herm- I promise, you learn to love the yogurt! I eat it straight without anything on it the more your body gets used to not having sugar, the more you will like it, at the moment you are used to having flavoursome foods but this will pass and soon the bland foods we eat will seem tasty- I love the actual yogurt flavour without the sweet taste and I used to hate it- its funny cos I had a lick of my boyfriends paddle pop the other day and it was so intense I had to spit in the sink! I've only been on the programme 4 weeks!

8-2 much- are you eating all your crispbreads? if you are and you feel you could live without them, cut them out it may work, I hardly eat them anymore (except sunday night schnitzel, which replaces sunday night counter meal) I figure they are just extra carbs my body no longer needs

Louise- your eyes are playing tricks on you, I was in such a state the other day cos I thought the programme had just stopped working and I was going to be fat forever blah blah blah (no, seriously I can't beleive how dramatic I was) but the funny thing is we see ourselves everyday, and until we have lost oodles of weight, it probably won't be obvious, I was complaining that my clothes didn't feel loose two days ago, last night my pants started falling down not because my spare tire is smaller (that is still in tact) but I have shrunk around my ass and hips, which I never look at, I always focus on that beer belly staring back at me. so seriously you would have lost weight just not from places you notice. I reckon its cos the last place we loose weight is from around our vital organs- the body is more reluctant to get rid of that fat!

by the way, I am being boring (and I'm at work) and having tuna and salad for dinner again! but seriously I haven't gotten sick of it yet and it makes me most satisfied

have a nice evening everyone and stay strong

Hi

I am new to this game. I only started on the Cohen diet 2 weeks ago. It is great to read all the posts. It is really encouraging. So far it hasn't been too bad although this weekend is going to be a test. I am going away for a golf weekend and am taking most of my meals with me. Oh well, we will see how it pans out on Tuesday.

Hi Y'all

It's been a while... I know..... but I thought I'd do a quick ticker update.

Things went a bit downhill for me after my binge (shall I remind you? okay, I will... there was baklava, scotch finger biscuits, various non Cohens fruit, BBQ chicken, more baklava, a couple of Delta Creams, a 400gm scotch fillet and half a slice of cheesecake)..... it cost me a severe stomach ache... a 2kg gain and set me back about 4 weeks.... and then they told me that I could have Premiums instead of those gawd awful Paradise Lites things and I was so excited that I couldn't stop at 5 crackers - I ate the whole pack. So that set me back a bit too.... but... ummm.... ANYWAY...

I found my way back and started going gung ho again... lost what I put on and thensome and I'm back with a vengence and ready to finish!

Wish me luck!

*sunshine*

Hi all,

Dinner tonight was My Allowance of veges made up of fresh asparagus, cabbage, celery and cauliflower sprinkled with garlic powder, chilli powder, coriander, tumeric, cumin and a small splash of balsamic vinegar and a small splash of sprite zero mixed with water and simmered till veges are just cooked and then finely dice up your allowance of steak and quickly pop this into the simmering frypan until the steak is just cooked. It's quite yummy and fairly filling as it has a bit of "sauce". I tend to just throw whatever I have into a pan and see how it ends up.
Nice to see you back *sunshine*. You are powering along and should be on refeed soon by the look of your ticker. Well done.
Welcome ata, and mermaid sister, good to see you are in better spirits today.
Well I've just about finished my 4th day back on Cohens, and I'm going great. No more headaches, and no hunger and I'm already down 3kg!!! I just love this diet. I always lose a lot more in the first week than I do in the following weeks (usually about 5kg in the first week and about 1 to 2 kgs in following weeks), but is so encouraging and gets you through the first week.
Have a great night everyone.

Hi everyone,
Had my 2nd measure on Monday. Ive lost 29.1 cm in 2 weeks. Is that an average loss? Can someone tell me plz, Im just curious to see how it compares with others. In my 3rd wk and struggling to eat all my food. Also having trouble eating it all by 9pm on some nights as I work on the odd occassion in the evening and makes it difficult to eat at a normal hour. Does this effect the weightloss greatly?
So nice the read all the positive msgs from ya'll on here. Its got to be one of the most positive bunch of people Ive ever come across. Its truly inspiring.
Hope everyone is going well and keeping their spirits up and their goals in sight.
Take care, Regina

Hi Everyone,
Well disaster already and I've not been on the diet for more than 3 days. Too much out of town work + lack of preparation = no food all day + binge at night.

I need to be more prepared. I am more disoragnised this time around than I was last time and I'm not sure why because I know the diet works. I am my own worst enemy. Somebody posted about cadbury bringing out a few new brands since they started Cohens. Therein lies one of my problems. I work for Cadbury and have Cadbury chocolate staring me right in the face all day, every day and I am a chocoholic. I think I need massive amounts of chromium. Like a kilo of chromium a day instead of a kilo of chocolate.

Anyway, I have a wedding to go to on November 12th and I'd like to drop 3-4 kilos by then. Will be more prepared tommorow and I swear there will be no chocolate too tempting...........who am I kidding?.......be strong myshy, be strong.

Good to see so many posts and words of support. RJM - I see you are almost at your first goal. You'll be seeing the 80's really soon!

Good luck for tommorow girls.........hope you all see a drop in numbers.

Myshy

Hi everyone, keep up the great work all you shrinking people.

Myshy: be strong and think of that chocolate as evil.....you have done it before and you can achieve this again. Maybe have some of that yummy chicken and asparagus soup ready to heat and eat in the fridge for when you get home. That may stop you looking for other food when you are tired after a long day. I have this quite often with a little chilli and it is very satisfying.....fills me up too. You put me onto this and after raving about this soup, I have introduced my sister to it. Very yum!!!

Sunshine: I have gone back to vita weats as those Premiums are too tempting to have more. Maybe it's the taste of the salt on them. I have been eating too many of the Premiums as well.

Tasman82: A size 16 skirt - that's fantastic. You are doing so well and soon this will be too big as well. Well done. :D Good luck with your future plans for a family.

I attended a conference today and was sitting at a table at the front of the room near the guest speakers. I didn't drink ANY water as I would have to cross the room to the back to access the toilets......felt I couldn't do this many times in front of 120 people. When I'm really busy I also forget to drink...how bad is that!!!! Glad to be back in the office tomorrow and to be drinking the water again. The result is I get off track and affects weightloss. I can see the difference when I don't drink the water.

Anyway I hope you all have a good night and successful day tomorrow.
