Ok, here's my ticker update, so that Bam and I have the same goal. I have also updated my weight loss as per today's weigh in.

And another whinge - Hubby's work are sending him away for 3 weeks on Saturday. They rang today and have decided he needs to go for 4 weeks. I don't know how I'm going to cope on my own!!! Is anyone else a single mum, even though I'm only single for 4 weeks, and works full time? How do you do it? I'm really not very impressed!

Would like some questions answered by all you lucky slimming ppl!

Hey there guys, I sounds like you are all happily losing weight. I am writing to ask some questions about the lifestyle clinic... I am 21 and 101kgs I have gained 40kgs in three years due to a bad recovery from bulimia. I still have relapses because nothing else works for me and I feel I would rather kill myself then be fat. I don't go out anymore, I won't see my friends and I find it very hard to even leave the house these days. I have read the testimonies on the lifestyle clinics website but I never trust them so I would like to know from people if a) the program costs thousands of dollars because I am a student and can only afford so much and b) if it is a constantly think about food and preparing food and counting food diet.

Also I would love to hear more success stories, like does it really truelly work? I have no problem sticking to a diet I'm pretty disciplined but I never get results with any

please help!

Crackers

I started eating the 8 Grain Paradise lites last week but wasn't sure if they were OK so I switched to Cracked pepper.

Today I tried the Wholemeal ones and threw the rest of the box out. Yuck. They were pure cardboard.

So I've switched again. This time to Vitawheats. Cracked Pepper.... as my program didnt specify otherwise. I hope its OK

Because they are GREAT!

only slightly smaller but well worth it. Yum.

Mermaid Sister

If you have no problem sticking to a diet and are disciplined than this is the diet for you. Personally I think you have come to the right place.
I have a friend who is suffering depression due to her weight gain and had stopped seeing people and going out. She has been on the diet for 8 weeks and lost 18kg, she has about another 20kg to go. But the main thing for her is she has her life back. She is excited about going out and buying new clothes, I have never seen her so happy.

For me, I have tried weight watchers, jenny craig, the soup diet, the 3 day miracle diet and various others. I have also been addicted to duramine and had liposuction in the hope of having an ideal body. With each weight loss program I would last a maximum of 3 weeks and give up. With duramine I got down to an unatainable weight and nearly lost all my friends and family with my addiction and mood swings. I got Lipo when I was about 24 and weighed a "whopping" 68kg (4kg off my now goal weight). With every gimmick, I ended up bigger . I now realise I never actually had a weight problem. I am about to start my 6th week on this diet and have lost about 11kg, I am not about to give up until I have reached my goal!

The first week is by far the hardest. I felt hungry and bored with what I thought were my only food options. I got over the hunger issues by the fourth day and have also discovered so many new and exciting Cohens recipes that even when I have lost all my weight I will still cook some of the healthier meals.
The program cost me $680.00, they also do a payment plan if you need it.
I have no problems with the amount. I beleive I have already made my money back by not buying alcohol and takeaway food every week. I became very lazy with my eating habits and would resort to take away 3-4 times a week and drank most nights aswell, mainly through boredom!

As for the testimonials, anyone can post on the lifestyle clinic website, not just authorised people, so they are true testimonials from people who have succeeded on this diet.

I wish you all the best with your weight loss. We have all gone through similar experiences and are always here to help and guide you, if you need it. This is the best website to just come to if you need a laugh and to unwind.
GOODLUCK.

BAM - I thought it only fair we have the same goal. I don't even think a bee's dick is that small!!!

Thankyou so much princessoz, 680 bucks is much cheaper than I anticipated! and if it works its well worth the money, better than me forking out for plus size clothing! I too was addicted to duromine, they made me break down and cry over the smallest things everyday, however I did not lose the weight suprisingly cos I felt so nauseas I did not eat. I am definetely going to do it and am stoked to find a support group!

I'm so glad that Cohen's is affordable for you. I really believe once you have paid the money you will get to where you want to be.
Duromine is probably the worst drug still allowed to be prescribed! I have told every one that thinks of taking it all my horror stories to try and stop them from taking it.
You will find your closest clinic on the website and need to contact them for an initial meeting and a blood test. You will then need to have a blood test every 4 weeks. I had my initial blood test on the Tuesday and received my program on the Friday.

Please let us all know how you go.

Just a ticker change. Finally under the 80kg mark!!! 18kg to go so hopefully by xmas i will be there. If i get off backside and be faithful 100%- im not! I want to but its hard when i have a new partener and being wined and dined. He is supportive and wants me to be successful but hard when out and about. its up to me- no one else. Any hints- im out of ideas of keeping on trak 100%.

Evening All, great to see everyone doing so well.

I've just made it through my first week and other than a few head spins for a couple of days it was easier than what i was expecting.:)

Only weighing in monthly..but I'm totally stoked as i've lost 20.5cm in total in the first week:D

No deviations at all, but i do have my hockey grandfinal in a couple of weeks so i'm determined to have no deviations until then.......Not every year to get to play in a grandfinal....especially at my age:eek:

Anyway great work by everyone, stay strong and watch the kg's vanish into thin air.......:D

Questions

I've been looking into Cohen's program for a couple weeks now looking all over the internet and found this site. I'm going to email these questions on their website as well, but thought I would get a quicker answer here (along w/ some personal opinions too maybe).

1) On the Cohen website, I did the goal weight calculator. The weight range it came up for me I believe is less than I should aim for. So who determines the goal you should reach - you or Cohen? Only reason I ask this is that the weight they came up with is less than I weighed 15 years ago when I got married - if you look at my pictures from then I was pretty boney - couldn't imagine weighing less.

2) It states that the refeed program is included if your goal is met in the first 12 weeks - if you have not reached goal weight a) is the next 12 weeks the same cost as the 1st one and b) how much would the refeed program cost?

I would be doing it strickly via the internet because I am in the US - do any of you that go in to see counselors think this could make it harder for me?

Thanks,
Donna

Hello everyone!

I am so excited! Our paperwork came in and we were able to get our bloodwork done today - so only a few more days and we will be able to get started!!:D

DonnaSV - I am also in the US - in Texas (Howdy neighbor!) I am also just starting the program. I am very much looking forward to using this forum as a support system. I used a similar forum years ago on another program and it was extremely helpful. I look forward to getting to know you and sharing in your upcoming successes! As to your questions, it is another $229 for each additional 12 weeks until you reach your goal weight. And on the weight question, from what I have read (and reading the back posts on this forum will give you a wealth of information) most feel that the target weight is too low - but ultimately when you reach your goal weight is when you will start feeling hungry again and that will tell you that you have reached the point your body wants to be at.

Please - all you with experience - if I am wrong on this - correct me :)

Have a great day all!

Momma Pajama

To All The Newbies!!!

I would just like to say one thing...

COHEN'S IS A GOD SEND!

I have never been happier in all my life, ive been on the program for 5 weeks now and i am already walking with my head held high and people are commenting left right & centre and my god it feels good to know im actually making a difference to my life aswell as my body!

Honestly, if you are thinking of doing the program.. dont think just do it.. You will not be dissapointed! :D

Momma Pajama: $229 for each additional 12 weeks on the program??.... HOLY CRAP! My contract is for 10 months and i paid $680 all up!... thats just maddness that they are charging you that amount of money... im stunned!!! I do know that bigger people that have more weight to lose have to pay more after their contract time is up.. but $229 every 12 weeks thats highway robbery!!!

Help

Hi Guys

Well, i had a sleepless night last night thinking about how to lose weight. I was just surfing the net for ideas and i was doing some research on SureSlim when i came across Cohen's diet.

I must have spent 2 hours reading your thread and i really am impressed by your results. Congratulations to all of view and i want you to know that you really made a sleepless night an adventure. Gave me hope to try again.

This diet will be the last diet. If it does not achieve anything, then i will just have accept life as an overweight person. But i really want to try and i really want to succeed.

Thought you might help....

Just wanted to know, as i am waiting for the clinic to call me back as to what foods you guys eat and how much weight you generally lose a week. I want to lose 35kg which is huge. But i really need to do it because of health and lifestyle and other important reasons. I know i can do it with the right guidance and support but i am just scared of throwing my money down the toilet and getting my heart broken with no results.

So, please, help me. I can not drink viniger and eat really wierd crap... i can however work hard. I just want information about it and the website i looked at did not have alot of information.

Is it like Sureslim?
Thanks guys

Salad Dressing

Can any of you seasoned Cohen's people suggest a good salad dressing? I am a bit sick of splashing balsamic over everything?

FatGirl-

Welcome to the forum :)

1.- Yes this program really works, and works fast!!!

2.- I originally had 30kg's to lose and at that time i thought holy crap im never going to get there.. But now i am a 3rd of the way there and this is my 5th week.. and let me tell you.. those first few weeks seem to take forever but looking back now.. they flew!!! And the weight has just melted off!

3.- My first week i lost 4.2kg's (mostly fluid, but still felt a big difference), then the next 4 weeks i was losing approx 2 to 2.5kg's... Which made me very happy :)

4.- This will be your last diet, and i can promise you that you will see results! Very quickly! And we are all here to support you along the way.. we are all in the same boat and know how tough it can be at times.

5.- If you dont like Veggies, Salad, Lean Mince, Chicken, Cheese, Eggs, Fruit.. id start liking them a.s.a.p.. because Cohen's is based on these food groups :) You can make some really nice stuff sometimes.. but i seem to stick to the easy boring stuff just to get me through.. (im a lazy biatch)..

6.- Cohen's is like Sureslim because the woman that started Sureslim did Cohen's and copied it.. its not exactly the same but very very similar.. Cohen's is by far the best option!

7.- You get gramage amounts of food to eat each meal.. you will have to weigh everything but this is only an inconvienience for the first week then you get used to it.

8.- The first week you will probablly feel like crap.. i thought i was going to die LOL but it was just my body getting rid of all those nasty toxin's.. im as right as rain now! :)

These arent allowed- NO BREAD, MILK, SUGAR, SOFTDRINK (Apart from Caffene free Diet Coke, Sprite Zero).. We have low fat crackers for our carb intake, i love my crackers :)

Good luck and let us know how you go and what you decide on :)

So there... theres the run down on this fabulous program which has made me a VERY happy girl :)

My first day on interim diet

I just started today... And I am so happy while preparing my own food. How I wish I can get my liver back to gd condition and slim down as fast as u gals out there...

Heehee, yogurt for bfast

My lunch... I cooked in the morning and later going to use microwave and heat up :)

I need some encouragements! :p

Cocobrandy!!

Well done, thats great meal making :)

You'll be fine, after the first little while you'll be well on your way just dont give up!

I've been looking into Cohen's program for a couple weeks now looking all over the internet and found this site. I'm going to email these questions on their website as well, but thought I would get a quicker answer here (along w/ some personal opinions too maybe).

Only reason I ask this is that the weight they came up with is less than I weighed 15 years ago when I got married - if you look at my pictures from then I was pretty boney - couldn't imagine weighing less.

Actually the weight calculator is a guide only. Some people seem to think that is too low. Some people (like me) think that it is to high, for me I remember when I weighed my Cohen goal weight and I was a little chubby around the middle ( which by the way is 1000% better than the "spare tire" I have ...which is slowly deflating now to my joy! :)).

Some members and consultants seem to say that when you are getting closer to goal weight you start feeling really very hungry, and thus is your bodies signal that you are at or near ideal. This makes sense as you start to run out of excess fat reserves, you body starts to enter starvation mode and your brain signals start to feel extra hungry.

Anyway just start and when you are getting close then make the choice.

2) It states that the refeed program is included if your goal is met in the first 12 weeks - if you have not reached goal weight a) is the next 12 weeks the same cost as the 1st one and b) how much would the refeed program cost?

I am doing the same internet program. I dont know the cost of the following 12 weeks, I will tell you in 6 weeks or so.

I would be doing it strickly via the internet because I am in the US - do any of you that go in to see counselors think this could make it harder for me?

Thanks,
Donna

This is where I think I and other internet program members are not well served I have round the internet email "counselors" bluntly useless. It appears that our Australian and Singapore forumites have a much more pragmatic and helpfull set of conunselors. For example have a look through the forum pages for the lady who asked the effect of taking birth control pill (BCP)!

However this doesnt detract from the fact that the program does work and counselors at best will only tell you stuff (support/suggests) you can find here.

one broken slinkee

Hi All

Poor slinkee, I'm breaking down, physically, not emotionally. I went to the dentist a few days ago, and have been informed I need to get a root canal and crown done ($1700).

And for the past 18 months I've been getting severe abdominal pain every 6 months, that was back last night, so I'm off tomorrow to get an Ultrasound on my gallbladder, and a few blood tests done too. Dr suspects I have gallstones, but i can tell you now, this gallbladder ain't going nowhere,i'm gong to do whatever I can to avoid surgery. Actually, Cohen's is the perfect diet for "fixing" gallstones, cos it's so low in fat (but i'm no doctor, so that statement isn't based on fact). The person from the ultrasound place said i had to have a no fat diet for 24 hours before the scan, so no cheese for me today or tomorrow.

Aside from all that everything else is going great. I booked the hotel for my wedding night today, it should be great. That will be one day I do deviate so i can eat the choc strawberries, canapes, champagne in the bath, then breakfast in bed the next day :)
but enough about me

fatgirl if you can work hard, be organized, be prepared to miss out on a few social occasions, give up the grog, and be committed to yourself and the program, then Cohen's is for you my girl Losing 35kg on Cohen's is almost a piece of cake (no pun intended) when you compare it to other programs. There are no weird foods at all, what can be weird is that a food that you would normally associate with being healthy may not be on the program (that vegetable for me is brocolli). so with any luck your name fatgirl isn't going to be appropriate for too much longer. :)

donnasv i think goal weights are a very personal thing, and the only person setting them is yourself. When I first got my goal weight range of 63-65 I said there is no way I'll be getting down to that, but now I'm looking forward to being that weight. My sister who is 180cm/size 10 shoe/64kg is actually underweight according to the Cohen's GW calculator. I was surprised to read that lessfatty considers his set GW too big for him as well. They can't force you to get to that weight, you are the client, so really, you're entitled to tell them what weight you're happy at :)

well, i'd better go back to bed
