that's great to see the scales are going down for you PinkVirgo - lapses and all!
I hope your consultation goes well - I look forward to hearing about it .. also what others can offer.

I understand about being at the bottom of your range i CaN i WiLL. I am just 5 feet and am aiming at 49kgs. But we'll wait until I get there to be sure. Still, it won't be long now.

I made it through Easter!

Dear All,

Well I did it! I got through Easter without eating one Easter egg or hot cross bun, don't know how I did it but I did.:)

And I weighed myself again on Sunday and I have lost another 2kg! Yeah! If this keeps up I will reach my goal of 7kg in two weeks! Yeah!

I have lost an amazing 6cm off my waist, and more off my bust and hips, not much off arms and legs but don't tend to carry much weight there.

My cellulite is all but gone as well and my many stretch marks are fading. And I have not had one headache in two weeks. That is a real blessing for me, I used to get them all the time. I used to go through Nurofen like water!

I have to be careful with exercise, I did way too much on Sunday and felt terrible. I went for a 20 min run and then did four hours of gardening. Bad idea!!

I have really low blood pressure anyway so my blood pressure is probably really low now! That is probably why I feel so dizzy sometimes.

Lizzi - thanks for your cheery Easter message, it really helped me to stay on track

Lisa - Well done on reaching 70 kg, keep drinking those espressos and long blacks!

Carissa - Well done on not having that hot cross bun!

Kim - Well done on your loss, that is incredible in a month!

Ridiculous - Have not had any dreams about food as yeat, but have been day dreaming about it, and have compiled quite a long list of things to eat post-refeed!

Moneypenny - enjoy your new wardrobe full of size 10s. I have hung my size 10 green skirt up in my room to motivate me to get a weight that will enable me to fit into it!

I can I will - Well done! You must have a tiny build to feel comfy at 50kg! I am only 5 foot 2 and my goal is 57, I don't think I could go much lower than that. The lightest I have been as an adult was 56kg after a particularly nasty break up where I did not eat much at all for three months!

Pink Virgo - Well done on hitting the 80s!

Well farewell lovely Cohens ladies.

All the best for this week!

Kathy

Hi Everyone!

Had my 4 week weigh-in today at the clinic. She was much nicer than last time. All good. She def thinks that I will be ordering my refeed before my 8 week appointment, as long as I continue on the straight and narrow, so I am rapt about that! I did ask her about refeed though, and she said that on average it is about 15 days, but it can be anywhere between 6 and 20 days. You just follow the refeed, and once you have 2 consecutive days with no gain, you're done! That's great. It adds more protein, more carbs, wine (yes!) and all the other good stuff we've been missing! How good does that sound!

Didn't get my blood test results though - the clinic hadn't recieved them, so that was a little disappointing. But oh well. The other thing she said though, was that mixing up your meals will speed up your loss. I'm not sure how true that is, because like pink virgo I think they make up a lot of stuff, but she did say that it was a couple of her clients that had noticed that. So if you're stuck, maybe mix it up a little.

Glad to be back at work - normality!

Talk soon

I too survived Easter (Just)

:D Hi everyone, so glad to hear of all the success stories over easter, must admit that the chocolates didn't temp me but I did succumb to ONE hot cross bun....Ouch. Have been extra, extra super good since.

Ridiculous When I told my Dr that I was doing Cohens she said that was a very good diet and to keep it up. I think that after I'd explained a bit about no alchohol, no carbs, not mixing protiens etc she said that any diet that helped you to lose weight i.e. get your blood pressure, colesteral, blood sugers etc down must be good for you. So am looking forward to seeing her in 2mths time to show her what weight I've lost.

Had mango chicken tonight, reckon that would have to be my favourite meal.

Hope everyone has a good week, keep up the good work.

My mini goal was to lose 10kg by easter monday and I'm pleased to report that I actually lost 10.5kg. Maybe could have been better without the hot cross bun:D

It's so nice to read that you overthere, on the otherside of the world, also celebrated easter and that you all were so strong by not having those delicious chocolate eggs. I've found it difficult but didn't ate one of them.

Wish you all the best with cohen

Niracca

Morning Guys,

Thankyou for all of your messages over easter think it was you guys that got me through all of those eggs and hot cross buns..yesterday I had to sit through a meeting with catered hot lunch it was like torture !! but made it through not one morsel of food passed my lips ! :D

Still hanging for a coffee but wont give in, did you all find that your family and friends were discouraging about doing this ? Apart from my husband mine all seem to be determined that you cannot live on this amount of food and that it is really bad for me. Mind you they are all a hell of a lot skinnier than me !

It's great to see you are all doing so well I think I mucked up my very first measurement on my hips cause when I measured after one week it showed that I had lost 7inc off which I know is impossible, so that suxs cause now I will never know what I was to start with.

Better go to work, as always thanks for the inspiration !

So glad everyone is doing well and hasnt given into the temptation of easter :D

I was up very late last night and am now regretting it. It's just after 9 am and I'm not sure how much longer I can stay awake. I am dyyyyying for a coffee (with milk and sugar). What do you guys do when u need a bit of a pick up?? I'm falling asleep here !

Big slip up!

I am so proud of you all for sticking it out through easter.

I was doing so well, we went away and I stayed on track and didn't waiver at all. But on the Monday we were home and working in the garden, rather physical work (basically removing and entire yard) and I had a major energy low, shakes and head spins so I deviated and ate more fruit than was allowed and then ate some chocolate :( (way too much) and then had a toasted cheese sandwich......it was awful. And I knew I was doing the wrong thing as I put each thing into my mouth but I still didn't stop. What is worng with me!!!????? Thankfully I haven't put on any weight. I am so disappointed in myself, I think in future I need to be more prepared with my carbs and fruit when doing this sort of thing to avoid this happening again. I was back on track Tuesday morning and plan to make up for the mess I got myself into.

Keep up the great work everyone!

I avoid the evening snack terrors and get my pick me up from a cup of black tea (with sugarine) and some stewed apple.

Ciao, Frog

Good Morning All

Hi Everyone,

Hey Kim jo1 - you are speaking to the coffee queen here - and I must say I am so impressed with your strong commitment - don't go near that milky coffee - you will regret it!!! I now have a long black with sugarine - or sweet tea!! I also have a piece of fruit and 2 of my crackers - just to give me a bit of a burst!! Have a good day!:)

Carissa We have a lot of family functions - and I get the same thing..'surely you can have a piece of this now', or 'that won't hurt', or this one I really love ' do you think you really need to lose any more weight'? - I have been called a 'big boned girl' from these very same people!!! So can't keep everyone happy - but the most important thing is I am feeling fantastic and that feeling is the BEST! Hang in there - it is a funny thing, at the family 'do's' I am at my strongest because I know some people want to see you fail/fall off the wagon - and they don't mean it in a nasty way (at least I don't think so!).

Ridiculous and Gayegel had my doctor appointment yesterday - and she couldn't believe how much weight I had lost - and thought I should stop (I am so close now - only 4kgs to go). She didn't have a lot of positives to say about it - she thought it was good for 'quick weight loss' but has seen alot of people put it back on. She didn't think there was enough fibre - and too much protein. She didn't outright 'bag' it - but didn't endorse it either. I didn't want to go on too much as I believe in it - the results speak for themselves and I believe when I have my refeed - all the other stuff will be introduced again. I still love Cohens!;)

Pink Virgo - 14.5kgs - WOW - I haven't been up to speed on how long you have been on Cohen's - but by looking at your picture - you look gorgeous and I am sure you look really different now with over 2 stone gone forever! Hope you find the answers at your appointment - will look forward to hearing how you have gone! Good luck:)

ICanIWillWhat a little pocket rocket you are!!! Awesome result! I imagine you to be a very motivated person, good on you!

Miss Kath What a gun you are! 7kgs in 2 weeks - how long have you been on the program? That is amazing....loved hearing about the cellulite - mine is still there...I must drink more water maybe??

Am going for my 8 week weigh in tomorrow - will let you all know what happens.

Ciao,

Lisa

For Frog

Sorry Frog - don't beat yourself up too much - bonus is you didn't put on any weight - all that gardening!!!;)

You are already back on track - you didn't like the way you felt after you had your 'splurge' - that is what I find keeps you in check for the next tempatation - and this forum! Everyone is there to support you!

Stay strong and drink that water! It really helps!:)

Have a good week,

L

Thanks Lisa C.:D

I have made the yummiest breakfast. I made a fritata from egg, zucchini, onion and mushroom. Mixed it all up and cooked it in the pan, it was delicious. Great for breakkie when I have 6am starts. I made it the night before and warmed it up when I got to work. Yumm!

Has anyone any other good suggestions for breakfast and how can I make natural yogurt taste better??

Frog

Hello All

Lisa C - thanks for that it is really discouraging to have everyone trying to make you just have that little bit, everyone is saying im obsessive about this but they dont get that you need to be ! :(

Kim - when I am flat in the afternoon I have a black coffee with sugarine, it is no where near as good as a milk and sugar coffee but the girls at the clinic here put me onto a Robert Timms coffee called 'Mocha Kenya Style' (they are actually coffee bags) and it is not too bad black. It helps keep me going in the afternoon.

Hope everyone is having a good day..:)

Creamy Yoghurt

Thanks Lisa C.:D
Has anyone any other good suggestions for breakfast and how can I make natural yogurt taste better??
Frog

Hey Frog! Do you have Vaalia Natural Yoghurt? I am in raptures when I get to eat that by itself in the morning :D !! Seriously - I absolutely love it, it's creamy & doesn't give you that bitter, 'just eaten a lemon' face  If you haven't already, please give it a try....VERY worth it!!

**Cut up Royal Gala apple & sprinkle with cinnamon (not cinnamon sugar) pop in your sweetener & microwave on high until cooked. Add your yoghurt to this...YUM!!!! -you can also crumble your crispbread allowance over the top or put crispbread on the bottom of your bowl & scoop in your apple mixture & yoghurt over the top!! :D ** DEVINE

- Also when I read your post about feeling dizzy & yuck, I remembered all too well my scary incident while playing sport a few weeks ago!! It was VERY SCARY, I thought I was going to pass out, couldn't focus my eyes & the dizziness was sickening. My consultant (a very wise lady) suggested when I have to play sport (or in your case strenous excercise) Cut up an orange & graze on it over the time your doing your excercise & sip water - NEVER gulp it down, as drinking too much too quickly strips your body of electrolites, which is why your feel so dizzy & yuck. It really did work for me, we played softball finals OMG!! (I am the catcher - jumping up & down every 5 minutes!! - no dizziness!!!) Please try it, it worked for me :)

Lisa C- Thank you for your kind words!! I am a movitated person, your spot on!! XX

Miss Kath- Isn't comfort a funny thing!!?? My sister in law is 47kgs & she's 5 foot 1 inch too. She looks good, not to thin, however her frame is very petite. I have short limbs, so my weight really shows very quickly on me. (Thighs .......argggh!!!! )

Congrats to everyone on your successes over the holiday period, I know the girls who have tested themselves are back on track!! Please don't give it another thought (never go back on yesterday!!) - Move on forward!! :)

Hi all. So many posts today! It seems that you have all been so busy trying to get it right. Good thing is that even if you don't, you can still go forward - so spot on i CaN i WiLL.

I admire the fact that you are trying to do so much physical work on this plan Frog - I know I couldn't increase mine too much. The advise about the fruit and water sounded really helpful.

Don't let anyone tell any of you this isn't a good plan - I think people just don't get what it takes to get it right. This works and you can be really proud of yourself for sticking to it - this is something so positive you can be doing for yourself even if people are questioning you over it. They will have to change their thinking when you succeed. And you will. As for it not being healthy? My doctor totally backs it! Many weight loss methods are considered questionable - really it is often just a challenge for people to adjust the thinking to a new set of concepts. If everyone's thinking was spot on about weight loss then there wouldn't be an epidemic of obesity. People are never going to agree about this topic, so don't let it throw you. Stick with it, and feel really good about yourself.

Meanwhile, today is a celebration day!!!!

AS OF THIS MORNING I AM NO LONGER OBESE!!!! I LOST A WHOLE DISEASE! I'M STOKED!!

lizzi

Well done Lizzi! That is awesome! You should be so proud of yourself - not just for losing the weight, but for showing to yourself that you have the strength and determination to do anything you want once you put your mind to it! Home stretch now, girlfriend!

Frog - I have the Tamara Valley Natural Yoghurt (low fat, of course). You can only get it at Woolies, but I can eat it plain. It took me a couple of weeks, but now I find it very, very tasty! Plain! I tried Jalna, and it was gross. I haven't tried the Vaalia, mainly because I found the Tamara. But it's such an easy breakfast when you have to work in the morning. Mix it with kiwi fruit - divine.

Okay, based on everyone's responses, I'm not going to tell my doctor. I'll just say I'm still on weight watchers. that's what I'm telling everyone else anyway. May as well keep my "lie" consistent.

I'm a bit tired tonight. Going to "hit the hay" early tonight. Good for the weight loss anyway.

See ya!
Bella

Oooh, one other thing. Because I'm really missing my exercise, I was thinking of doing yoga.

Does anyone think that would be too much? Better still, does anyone do it now?

Be good to start to tone up my bod now too...

Thanks

Thanks guys for all of your support. :) I will try the Vaalia yogurt on the weekend 'I can I will'. Thanks for the other suggestions as well.;)

Tomorrow I am going to ride to work and head out for a swim at lunch time. These are generally not terribly strenuous activities but may be since being on this program, will let you know. I have avoided my exercise regime for these first couple of weeks for lack of energy. I am feeling good now and am keen to get back into it. I will keep myself organised to aviod those blood sugar lows. If I don't suffer too much from the exercise I am keen to get back running....that might be a bit too strenuous though. Any thoughts from anyone?

i can i will, thanks for the suggestion ! I think I will have to try that one. I'm not a big fan of the yoghurt but I eat it anyway.

Lizzi, wow you should be so proud ! I am so very happy for you ! I can't wait till I'm no longer obese. 57kg lost is such a great acheivement. You are proof that if you stick to this, it really works. I can only hope I am as strong as you.:D

Well this morning I was very pleased to get on the scales as I have finally hit the 80s (just.. lol) Woohoo. 2nd Mini goal completed :D

Oh did I mention I work right across from the Smith chip factory? lol When the wind is blowing int he right direction, u can smell chips all through our office. This is torture :p lol

Keep up the great work guys !

Hi kim_j01: Thanks for the encouragement. Seems you are doing well too. there is something special about reaching the mini-goals. Hitting the 80's is a big one - good for you. Seems you are moving along at a steady pace and you will be there before you know it. THIS IS OUR YEAR - ALL OF US!!
Sympathise re the Smith's factory. Whenever I smell foods that are specially nice, I remember that the foods are not leaving the planet, and I will get to taste them again - something to look forward to.

Frog: Try the Vaalia yoghurt - I don't have that one but love the low-fat Tamar Valley - plain or with sweetener and cinmiman - or with coffee is a good choice - or mango. Yum.

Thanks i CaN i WiLL, you are always so bright and cheery. It is a great encouragement.

I so appreciate this group of people, thanks for all the support, and I love hearing about what is happening for each of you.
My day was so so busy - a good one, but long and no time even to eat lunch until 3pm. Means I have to wait for dinner, and I only just had time for my afternoon biscuits so it will be 9:30pm before I can have the last ones. So glad the 5 hour rule isn't for life!!

Have a good night and I'll check in tomorrow,
lizzi
