one more good thing have gone down from a size 26dd bra to a 18dd couldn't believe it and so many people tell me they see a difference in me its good to hear. dianne

Hi Missys-mum. Glad to hear about your son-in-law. Sounds very promising. Our thoughs are with you. And congratulations on the weight-loss to date! 36kgs is still an outstanding result. You can definatley jump back on the wagon - to lose that much you have already proved that you have the commitment!

First month (self) weigh-in and measure this morning. Didn't get to my 10kg aim, but I almost did! One month loss was NINE KILOS! That puts me at exactly half way! That also means that I lost 2.5kgs last week (must be the extra sleep;) ) I only lost 6cm, but my monthly total was a 49cm loss. That is amazing. It doesn't even really feel like I've been on the program for 1 month. So, all going well, this time next month I should be ordering my refeed! Wow. That is such a motivator. And this month (should) be easier than the first, because I don't have any trips to Sydney, no work meetings or dinners, and no major events (yet).

I can't believe it. I'm half way! YAY! Hopefully the next 9kgs will see me drop a dress size or 3(I still haven't after 14kgs - 5 on Weight Watchers, and 9 on Cohen). Can't wait to go shopping. My Mum is coming down to visit in a month, and i haven't told her about Cohen, so boy is she going to get a shock when she sees a skinny me waiting to pick her up at the airport! She's going to be so surprised! I hope she buys me clothes.

This means I don't need to throw out my easter eggs. I haven't slipped up at all and I got great results. That's all the "won't" power I need!

I feel like I'm walking on Air! But enough rambling from me. I have to go get a blood test.

Have a great day everyone!
Bella

Hi Missy's mum, we havent talked yet but I just wanted to say that I think you have done a brilliant job loosing 36 kgs with all that you and your family have had to deal with you must be an amazingly strong woman..

ridiculous - wow  9kgs in a month is sensational you must be stoked, i hope that I can even reach half of that in my first month ! congrats

SO CLOSE!! Only 0.1 to go and I reach a dual mini-goal. I will no longer be obese AND I will be 2/3 of my way to my Cohen's goal. I will be there in no time and very pleased.

Hey missys-mum, so good to hear from you! It really is good news about your brother now, although it sounds like he had a very rough go of it all. Seems like some prayers have been answered and I trust all goes well - I realise there is still a journey ahead in dealing with this.
Things look promising with the hubby too. Maybe these things will help with the weight loss because you started so well before things went wrong. How much do you need to lose now? Keep posting, won't you?

ridiculous: way to go! 9kgs is excellent considering it takes you half way. That is fast loss - you will be there in no time. You go girl!

PinkVirgo: Interesting comments about shift work. Disappointing there weren't some clearer answers for you. From what I have picked up, our sleep is really very important, because that is when the HGH is released. The quality and length is important, so that is a pertinent way that we can help ourselves along. So in shift work, even if you get the meals right, the ups and downs could be explained by the changes in sleep patterns.
I know someone else who does shift work, and her consultant said not to expect as good a loss on night shifts because of the changes to her sleeping. And she finds her energy levels are totally zapped on nights as well. So do your best, you will get there. You are really doing very well to deal with shifts at all on this - I admire your determination ... and it was good to hear from you.
stick with it everyone,
lizzi

Hi everyone, Happy Easter to you all. Hope the Bunny doesn't leave too many tempting goodies for us. Have told my family not to buy me any eggs and I'm not really a chocolate fan but have put some hot X buns in the freezer for the after life LOL.

Ridiculous
Was going to suggest you give the eggs away to the local charity or something but seems like you're doing well enough that you won't be tempted, so just hide them for awhile.

Pink Virgo Sorry you had that subway but it sounds like it wasn't a bad choice as they are meant to be 97% fat free. I know exactly how you feel about cooking eevveerryy single meal. Last night we got home late and I had fish ready to cook but didn't feel like doing vege's or salad so said to hubby and daughter, "Lets just have chips (oven cooked) with the fish and they both at the same time said "NO" which of course made me feel awful but ended up making salad and so today I feel quite proud that I didn't give in. I do feel as if I spend all my time in the kitchen.:D

My daughter and granddaughter will be moving out next weekend so will not have as many extra meals to do, but sure will miss them. They have lived with us for about 7 years then moved to Vic for 18mths then came back and have been with us again for the last 18 mths. My daughter has just bought her 1st house (with the money they've saved while living with us) and it is all very exciting finding furniture and things to go in it. It isn't new but has been totally refurbished so only the yard needs some TLC.

That's it for me today, stay strong tomorrow with the choc's;)

:D
Cheers.

It's interesting about the cooking. I, too, long for a night off! It has been a long time. But at the same time, I have enjoyed the challenge of constantly bringing variety to the foods we can eat. Our ingredients may be limited, but there is still a lot we can do with spices and combinations. Only trouble is, there is never enough to eat once we do.

We can prepare ahead with some soups and egg & veg muffins, which can help somethimes. Not the same as take away, but it helps. Only benefit? saves money!

Look forward to your ticker change gayegel, and so glad you had the support of your family last night. Ohhhh!! chips!!

Carissa, good that you started, and if you are brave enough to begin just before Easter, then no doubt you will be very strong throughout.

the old me: About the carbs, the refeed is supposed to help us a bit to rebalance, sure hope it offers some assistance, even if we underplay that idea.

My favourite meal keeps changing, and at the moment it involves any combinations that use curry or chilli in all it's varieties. And I am still hanging on to my mangoes, but the nectarines haven't been there this week. Sad.

Peaches

I was in total shock when I went to the fruit section in the supermarket...NO peaches.....Went to a green grocer....NO PEACHES!!!! Oh dear, I'll miss the peaches! :( Roll on Peach season (it's my new 'chocolate'!! LOL :D )

I'm off to have a sprite slushy.... love making them!!! - Crush ice in the blender & add Sprite...YUMMO!!

Happy Easter Guys!!!!!

Happy Easter

Good Morning All!

Just not sure that you understood what was being said about the tuna. It isn't just that it is 5 or 10 grams out, it's that once you take the water out you are probably only taking in about half because the water doesn't count when you weigh the tuna. I usse the ringtops too, but maybe you need to get a bigger sized one.
Thanks Lizzi - I do understand the above statement, I was only doing this (using small tuna tins) when I was travelling purley for making it quick and easy as I was in and out of meetings all day. Thanks for taking the time to check and explain.

Well just done the Easter Egg hunt for the girls and I must say that I haven't been tempted at all. I am an all or nothing girl - if I don't have any - I don't miss it! (Remember the latte's.....)

I weighed myself today and I am 70kgs!!! 1 week of no lattes and look at my reward! Thanks to everyone for keeping me focused!

5kgs to go!!! I will book my eight week weigh in for this week - so hopefully by the time I have my 12 week blood test - I will be ready for re-feed.

Hope you all stay strong and safe over the Easter Break.

I am just about to have my yogurt for breakfast and just brewed some black coffee!

Ciao,

Lisa x

:) Happy Easter Everyone ! [/COLOR]

So I got this morning and decided that I was going to allow myself a real cup of coffee and a hot cross bun. I knew it wasn't the right thing to do but felt ill at the thought of a cohens breakfast.

By the time I had finished the egg hunt with my family I had decided not to go through with it, actually made the coffee (with milk & sugar) and tipped it out....

Think today's going to be a hard day, hope you all have a great easter and stay strong..

lisa c, glad to see you're on track now. It's really paid off hasn't it ! :D

Is anyone else sick of going shopping only to see wall to wall of easter eggs? :( I really cant wait till it's over. Im the biggest chocoholic and I'm finding this very hard lol

I had a dream last night I ate Subway:eek: I felt so bad when i woke up too :( damnit now I'm starting to dream about food lol

Well I had my 2 month weigh-in this morning and I am down to 91.2kg. I'm VERY pleased witht his result :D Which means an overall loss of 7.8kg this month :D woohoo ! Almost in the 80's :D

Well done Kim j01! That's a great result after 2 months. I had a dream that I ate all the easter eggs in my kitchen last night. I woke up so angry! I was positive I'd got up in the middle of the night and eaten them ( I hadn't). What's with the food dreams?!!? It's a little freaky...

I have to say that it's a lot easier to be a work for 4 days, than to be at home for 4 days! Especially when it's about 15 degrees and raining everyday. I just keep saying to myself - everyday I do it, I'm one day closer to not doing it anymore. (If that makes sense!).

Happy easter everyone. i hope you all managed a chocolate free day!

Bella

Good morning all!
I just had a wonderful sleep in. Got up and had a leisurely potter, then finally finished my first meal at 10:07AM. I certainly haven't done that too often, but last weekend I decided it was worth having a day of late meals. And it is! So did it again today.

This morning my 'brunch' was a meal 2 option which I cooked and ate in a leisurely way ... so un-Cohen's where I am always rushing to get breakfast down so that I can keep the day on track. I will have meal 3 for lunch at about 3:15 and then an omlette or yoghurt before 9pm. I resisted doing this for a long time because I thought I would be hungry later, but at the moment it is enough to have the biscuits and fruit in between. Makes life feel more normal to have a lazy breakfast.

Yesterday I did very well handing out Easter eggs to about a hundred people, talking to them about chocolate and being offered eggs. Some of them I took and will keep - I have some at work and some in my kitchen pantry, and they will all last, so I am quite content. Roll on the end of the year!!

I hope you all survived the Easter celebrations around food, and that things go OK today too.

Good to hear from you kim_j01. It seems like you are doing really well. You should be able to keep that loss up for most of the time they say - that means you'll be there in great time. That must be very encouraging for you.

ridiculous: I find the same thing. The days can definitely seem longer between meals when it is days off. So glad this is not forever.

Take care of yourselves and have a great day,
lizzi

Hi everyone! Hope you all survived yesterday, and had a great easter.

After a weekend of rain and cold temps (which feel so, SO much colder these days now I'm on Cohen), today is relatively warm and sunny. So, because I've been cooped up all weekend, i thought I'd go for a bit of a walk to get out of the house. I have to tell you, I really struggled. I haven't been for a walk this long since the first weekend on Cohen, and I actually had to sit down and rest for a while! I felt so lightheaded. It was actually quite scary. It was weird, because I'd only just finished brekkie, and had water on me, so I wasn't dehydrated and my blood sugar should have been fine. My energy level has been great lately, and I was actually thinking I might venture back to the gym this week. Hmm... might have to reassess that.

Have my first weight-in at the clinic tomorrow arvo. I wonder if they'll have my blood test results yet, being a long weekend and all. I hope so. I really want to be off Cohen before I have to do another blood test. The 2nd one really hurt! Way more than the first one. My arm was tender for a couple of days, and I have a bit of a bruise on my arm. That can't be good.

Looking forward to going back to work tomorrow (can't believe I'm saying that!). Back to my normal eating routine...

Have a good day everyone!

Bella

Hi ridiculous.
I don't have much energy for exercise either. At some stages I have, but certainly not at the moment. What I have been wondering about is the blood pressure. On Cohens mine has gone right down, and so has my pulse. There is something about this plan that regularises it and I certainly needed that, but now I am aware that everything is low as a result of this program. Nothing bad about that, but it might be related to energy?
Any thoughts?

Hi all - hope you are enjoying the long weekend - I am on holidays until after Anzac Day so in lazy, relaxing mode. I have also been getting a late start to my meals, but I don't mind it. I actually prefer to be at home so I don't have to prepare lunch in advance.

I don't think my update on the ticker worked but I am down to 68kg today. That means so far 17.5kg lost and only 2 more kilo's until refeed! I am going back to Melbourne on Friday to see family etc so hoping to get my last blood test done before I go so that re-feed is waiting for me when I get back. Hoping to start re-feed on Wednesday 26th April. I absolutely CANNOT WAIT! I know I should be a bit hesitant about life after Cohen's etc but I am just so excited about cooking real meals again! I have been buying Good Taste magazine again and earmarking recipes I will try, once I can. I love to cook, which is both a good and a bad thing, because sometimes it tastes too good and I eat far too much!

I am a bit curious about re-feed since we know so little about it. I know to expect bigger quantities and no 5-hour waits between meals, and that I will get limited amounts of bread, potato etc but I am intrigued about the details... I'll find out soon enough and let you all know!

We re-laid the design of our wardrobe this weekend, because I finally fit in to all the size 10 clothes I have been keeping in the spare room. The size 8's are still in storage but I am hoping to relocate them to my wardrobe again in the next week or so. It feels very rewarding to be wearing clothes I haven't fit in to for the past 2 years. Thank goodness nothing has gone out of fashion in that time - just jeans and flat-front, stretch pants mostly.

I can't wait to go out for dinner! Anyone else hanging out for a meal cooked by someone else! PinkVirgo I really knew what you meant when I read your post. I have also been craving Subway but adding it to the list of things to eat in the afterlife!

Anyway, stay strong and keep up the water. I am convinced that it is the key!

Hi Lizzi.
You could definately be onto something there. My blood pressure was a little high, and I haven't had it checked since I started, but it could definatley be related. Low blood pressure makes you feel lethargic, tired, and light headed. I can't imagine that anyone's blood pressure would drop so low (from just changing your food intake) that it would be dangerous, but it would be different for your body, so would take a while to get used too.

Moneypenny - you've done really well! Well done! I can't wait for refeed either. But I think it is more just a curiosity thing because they don't tell us anything about it! I'd really like to know how long refeed is! I'm hoping it isn't much longer than 2 weeks, because I have a national conference coming up in June, and I really want to drink! (It is really boring talking to some people from work if you're aren't a little drink!). Hmm.. maybe I'll ask at my weigh in tomorrow.

I've just realised that I am on a very tight timeline - If lose 9kgs again in the next 4 weeks, I'll have 3 1/2 to do refeed before I have a week off, and go to conference. Man. No room for error now. There's my won't power again. Have to finish this as planned. I don't know how you ladies that have been on this for months and months - it would drive me crazy!

Has anyone told their GP that they're doing Cohen? Just curious as to what their reaction was. I'm due to see mine next month, and I'm not sure that I want to tell her, incase she lectures me.

Okay, have a great week! Talk to tomorrow after weigh-in - see if I get any pearls of wisdom from the clinic!

Bella

Hooray - Easter is Over!!

Good morning all,

Sounds like everyone did a fantastic job over Easter!

Thanks Kimj01, for your kind words - yes it has paid off - finally hit 69.1 kgs M:) onday morning. Well done to you on your weightloss to date - Fantastic result, you must be feeling good!

Carrissa - very impressed with your Hot Cross Bun and Milky Coffee story!!! Way to go. You would have felt fantastic and the results will reflect your commitment!;)

How exciting MoneyPenny size 10!!!! WOW! You are on the home stretch now!

Ridiculous - I will let you know about the Doctor thing as I have to go to my GP today....will be interesting to hear their thougths etc.

Food Dreams - I had them in the first couple of weeks - I would wake up all dissapointed as I thought I had broken also...what a huge sigh of relief when you realise it was just a dream!

Yes - Subway is on my list too....(and latte's of course)

Just about to call Cohen's now for my 8 week weigh in.

Have a great short week!

Ciao,

Lisa

Food Dreams!!

Hi guys!! So proud of each & everyone of you!!!!!!

We survived Easter!!!!!!!!!!!

Top effort to everyone, I knew we could!!

I have dropped weight again...YAY!!!!! down to 54.1kgs this morning....FANTASTIC FEELING to see those numbers on the scales again!!

Food dreams....yep, know what you mean, except mine have been with my friends tempting me with sweets etc... I end up very distressed & confused as to why they would do that to me!!!! I must add that I have resisted every attempt in dreamland as well as in 'real life'. :) But must say the dreams are very off putting!!

Thank goodness for work though...I agree with you guys, it's definitely a major factor in keeping your thoughts occupied with actions other than food related motions!!! :D

TBL - I must admit, I have been stuck to the tv screen every week night watching these guys battle it out, wow, I am in total awe!!!! Harry last night - I actually felt bad for him, no one likes rejection (even though most shrug it off in public). Although saying that, how hard must it be for the 3 who actually made it through.... As if lossing all that weight wasn't challanging enough!!

I know it looks like (by my ticker) that I will be ordering my re-feed soon, but after a lengthy discussion with my consultant, I have decided to brave the program until the scales actually read 52kgs. I know I feel every comfortable at 50kgs. (I am a weeny squirt!!! - 5 foot 1 inch!!!!!) So, I have another 2.1kgs to go before re-feed, I haven't felt VERY hungry yet, which apparently is a sign your body is 'done' lossing weight & your at your goal. See how the next 2 weeks go......

Keep up the water !! :)

80's

Well girls, I've just hit the 80's. 11 weeks gone and I've managed to lose 14.5 kilos. I shed 900 grams this week ( considering I've had two non-cohens meals this week - one being the subway wrap, and the other a steak and salad meal at a restaurant yesterday - I am baffled as to this loss... seeing as I've managed so many other weeks 100% cohens and only lost 500 grams?!). I'm glad to be rid of 14.5 kilos, but still not jumping over the moon. I'm waiting eagerly for my consultation (or should I say confrontation!?) with my consultant after my 12 week blood test. I have questions girls and I'm gonna demand answers!!

Well done to everyone for staying strong over easter!! I too didn't touch a morsel of chocolate (must admit that I did sniff into a box of roses... yum!).

KIM_J01 - What a super result for you at two months!! You're speeding ahead girlie! No doubt you'll be finished before I am... don't forget about us when you're Cohen's free!

MONEYPENNY - Well done to you too! Keep us informed on the re-feed - we're all eager to know what it's all about.

Everyone else, keep up the great work!! And to those who have gone to their clinics and doctors with questions, can't wait to hear what you've been told.

Take care all ;)
