WOW! What a day for posts! Welcome to all the new ones - look forward to seeing your success in the coming weeks!

Tash!!!! That is amazing! Well done, girlfriend! You should be so proud of yourself, and of your results! Can't wait to hear all about what's on your re-feed. Maybe that cabonara you were dreaming about ! ha ha!

I have my "unofficial" weigh in and measure tomorrow morning - end of week 3. I don't have a good feeling about it - I don't think I've lost any weight. I'm a bit scared that I might lose my focus. But I guess I'll deal with that when and if it happens. I'll let you all know in the morning.

I don't know about that tea you are all drinking.... I think if it is causing you that much pain, your body is trying to tell you something...

Keep your fingers crossed for me in the morning....

Bella

Hi , I've never heard of this diet is it available worldwide? How much does it cost? How many vitamins do you take everyday? I breastfeed, is it brestfeed friendly? Sounds sooo great everyone seems to be losing so much weight so fast!! Thanks.

Hi meplus3 - yes, this eating plan is available worldwide, but I'm pretty sure it isn't suitable for breastfeeding mums. We've found from other members that the cost depends on where you live, so you should contact a clinic - I know the US ones offer an online version. In terms of vitamins, You only need to take 1 multi-vitamin daily. Nothing special! It's a really good program - the success stories on this forum speak for themselves. Good luck.

Okay, well I did my weekly weigh-in. I lost 1kg,and another 5cms. Not a bad result, but after last week's .5kg loss, I was expecting a little more - especially considering that I haven't had one "mistake"! Oh well. A loss is still a loss, and I do get to move my ticker!

I'm thinking I need to try and mix up my food a little bit. Someone mentioned about a curry they'd been making - I think it was you Tash - I'd love some help with suggestions for easy variety.

I have my official 4 week weigh-in next week at the clinic, and I really wanted to lose 10kgs. Do you think I can lose 3.5kgs in 1 week? Hmmm...

Thanks for listening to my whingeing. Have a good weekend!
Bella

Thanks for your reply...and speaking of ridiculous you have lost all of that weight in 3 weeks!! That's absolutly incredible!! I just can't wrap my brain around that  , congratulations!! I tried to look up dr cohen on the internet but couldn't find his website , could you give me the direction-thank you.:)

This is the US one I think.....
The Australian one is ....

On the first link, there are email links, so you can contact the US Clinics. You'll just need to explore the web sites. they don't really tell you too much about the program per se, but basically it's a measured amount of protein and veg/salad for each meal (either meat, chicken, fish, egg, cheese, or yoghurt), some fruit, andsome crispbread each day. Plus 2 - 3 litres of water a day. There are certain rules about when you can eat everything, so you need to be organised!

Good luck, and happy investigating on the wesites!

Hello,

This place sure has grown since i first joined here right at the beginning ... (was one of the first few posters) so have spent great time reading the posts and getting myself inspired to really commit to Cohen's and this time be successful.

I managed to lose 9kgs the first fortnight I started but then life got in the way and as did all the stuff that comes with the end of a year - so I never really got off the ground and ended up slowly gaining the weight and am right back where I started at 75kgs.

I am back with a vengance and determined to lose the weight as fast as possible ... and am just in a completetly different frame of mind so i know that this time I will do it. Am looking forward to getting to know you ALL - although thanks to reading the posts I feel like I already do :)!! Thankyou all for your inspiring stories and just well showing that we are humans and that sometimes things dont and do go to plan. You are all very inspiring and should be so proud of how far you've come ... and for those of you who are struggling etc maybe you should just take strength in the quiet knowledge that you are different to the person you were when you began your Cohen's weight loss journey!! OMG your all amazing!!

Goodluck for the coming week may all your weight loss dreams be yours.
Ciao xoxo

PS : A small tip I was given was that the crackers do not have to be eaten and that by limiting or even giving up altogether your weight loss will be greater ... but you MUST increase your intake of H20!! Has something to do with the carbs etc.:)

Greetings

Hi everyone. Wow there's such a lot of posts this week. I haven't been able to read any for the last week and cant believe how many new one's have now joined us. Welcome to you all and good luck with the new lifestyle. It really does work, for some quicker than other's but any loss is a good thing.:D

Have just moved my ticker, but only a little as I've been a bit (lot) naughty.
Had Open Day at golf, that's where players from other clubs come and play on our course, and being the President I was flat out in the kitchen all day (didn't even get to play and therefor no exercise) with lots of yummy food. I made my Cohen's lunch the night before, packed fruit and crispbreads and was all prepared, but guess what ?? I forgot to take it out of the fridge when I left in the morning:( dumb or what. But have been very good since then so hopefully it wont make too much of a difference.

Tried on a blouse that was too tight over the bust when I bought it at the beginning of summer and it fits perfectly. Am so pleased but of course it (hopefully) wont be too long before it's too BIG.:D :D

Had yummy stir fried prawns and calamari with veges last night. Each time we have seafood (which is a favorite) it never seems enough so this time I swapped the lunch portion for the dinner portion, and you get heaps more prawns. Delish.

Keep up the lifestyle. Cheers.

"apple pie"

Here my recipe for "homemade apple pie"::D

cut an apple in little pieces, a bit sweetner and some cinnamon on it, in the microwave about 1 min, now it is a bit soft and warm, it's delicious on a crispbread with a coffee.

Bon Appetit!

Hi all! Hope you all had a good weekend. I had a big blow out and I'm spewin! Went to a friends for tea Friday night and took my own. Watched everyone eating butter chicken, rice, garlic bread, greek salad, and apricot chicken (thank goodness there was no dessert!). When I got home, it all went pear-shaped. My body was like "feed me feed me" and I pretty much picked at things I shouldn't all weekend. I even resorted to eating my daughters nutella straight out of the jar!!! How disgusting am I? Anyway Sunday I tried to get back on the wagon and lasted until lunch, where we went to another friends for a bbq. She is a fantastic cook so I picked at things and had carrot cake. Then for tea that night I had pasta carbonara and a glass of wine.:( The only thing I can attribute all this to is that I've been feeling run-down and achey like I'm coming down with something. Thankfully I'm working all week, and will be away from the kitchen etc. I feel so awful. It's so not worth it.

I feel for you L-Jay. I know we are all doing our best, but sometimes it is tough. Hope you are on track again soon.

So many new people yet again. Good to know this thing is getting so much response, because the program works. I wish you all the very best of weight loss! Just stick with it, and you will arrive.

Some of you are so close and I'm just waiting to see you achieve the last bits, and hearing about refeed and afterlife! So happy for each of you.

Meanwhile, I am celebrating - YES!! SATURDAY WAS 9 MONTHS FOR ME!! That is 270th day!!!

That has to be a milestone. And it's 2 way. Anyone who thinks they have stuck to this plan for that long without blowing it and has managed to lose slower, let me know because I would love to hear from you!!! Otherwise I am claiming the title of slowest faithful loser!!

On the other hand, I am pleased with myself and know I will get there. I guess they could have said my blood profile wasn't suitable, and rejected me. I know it has happened for some others. Then I would have been up the creek because slow or not, this has been better than any other program.

Well everyone - while I don't want to wish my year away, I can't wait until September or October when I will be celebrating the fact that I have finished this and am on my goal weight for life!!

Have a good day everyone,
lizzi

Thanks Lizzi. You are an amazingly fantastic inspiration. It just goes to show what a lot can be accomplished in 9 months. And it will be Sept/Oct before you know it. It's really not that long to go. You must feel so good health-wise and your confidence. Thank you so much for your encouragement.

Giving myself a pat on the back

Hi everyone and congratulations to you all on your achievements either large or small or just beginning.

I don't say hi too often because I am not good at this and think I can be a it mumsy and preachy which is the last thing any of us need.

I just popped in to say seven months and 50k now gone. I still have 30k to go and am aiming for August, but I am not really good at setting realistic goals either! I never thought I would get this far. In fact I didn't realise I was signing up to be a 60k woman. I just wanted to loose some weight.

Yes, I do look totally different and when people don't recognise me I find it is easier to let them pass. I am now busy convincing myself that I still have another 30k to loose. I have not been this skinny since I had D1 32 years ago. I have bones which I never thought I had, am into my second new set of clothes (thank god it is winter), can sit on the floor and get up, can nurse two children on my knee at the same time, can climb up the tunnel slide at Canberra airport, can wear D2's cast-offs (because both D1 & D2 are getting smaller) - I am soooooooo happy and just need to share it.

Yes I am freezing all the time, my nose has been red for a week and I am sick of people asking me "how much have you lost?" OMG is it any of their business? What do you say, "Oh not much just another person" (Get stuffed people what does it matter). I just smile sweetly and say "lots but I don't weigh myself" HeHe what do they know.

Now for the 30k!! I am really slack this past month on drinking the water, I am lucky if I can drink 1L per day. So my challenge is to drink at least 2L if not 3 every day and see if this really does make the weight fall off quicker.

To all of you who say it is coming off slow then I emphasise with you. Lets just keep going, I would love to be able to give you all a big hug to say thank you for letting me be part of your journey and a big shout and jump in the air, hands raised, because we are all achieving so much for ourselves.

Happy Monday ladies. Hoping you are all well and losing!

I find it so difficult to get through enough water on the weekends - don't know about you all... At work it is fine, I just keep a full 800mL drink bottle on my desk and go through about 4 of them but on the weekend I never feel that I drink enough...

I was getting really sick of salads for lunch, especially since the weather is getting so much colder, so I have now opted for soup. I am LOVING it! I just take my meat and vegie allowance (use as much cauliflower as possible as it thickens the soup up really well) add curry powder or other spices with about 350mL water and let it simmer through. Then I stick it all in the blender and mix it up - easy and delicious! I also have a feeling that eating soup will speed the weight loss up, since it is pretty much just liquid. I will keep an eye on this and let you all know how I go. I am getting so excited about finishing now - I am 4kg away from re-feed and have started making a list of all the recipes I am going to make once I'm back to real food! I have also been analysing exactly what went wrong for me and why I put on so much weight. I have figured out that I was over-dosing on carbs - eg: small serve of sauce with a 250g serve of cooked pasta for dinner etc. So when I get to afterlife I will need to focus on that. I guess that's what this is all about - changing our behaviours for the long run so that we don't make the same mistakes again.

Someone posted a question over the weekend regarding the tea. Is it worth it? I would say so. The pains aren't so bad and I really need the regularity kick I get from 1 cup each night. I certainly wouldn't advocate it to anyone who doesn't really need it. I discussed it with my naturopath on Friday and she said that it is not a bad way to assist the body while we are on Cohen's and that the added fibre from normal food post re-feed should compensate and then we won't have to drink it any more. Just my opinion.

Anyway, keep up the good work ladies and to the new-comers and those back on the wagon again: YOU CAN DO IT! Just never allow yourself to slip, not even once and you will be fine. This really does work!

Yay it's a short week!
Hi everyone - I just looove these 4 days weeks. But I do find it hard to stay on track over the weekends. (Let alone a long weekend EASTER arrgghh!)
Am feeling a lot slimmer again which is good, haven't weighed myself - I've been so tempted but I'm going for my first weigh-in next Tuesday so I'll be good until then, I promise.

I hope everyone has a great day!
Minxy
PS - Jude - what an amazing inspiration you are - you can be mumsy and preachy all you want!!

Does anyone know how much a skirt or pants can be taken in before its just not worth it anymore? I have clothes that have outgrown me! Is a 1 - 2 dress size alteration too much for things like a suit or trousers? Any ideas appreciated...

Query about Cohens :)

Hi all,

I'm new to the group, and was wondering if anyone oculd help me.

A friend of mine has just finished her first month on Cohens and had a huge success. It certainly sounds like it's working for her, which is fantastic, and I was wondering about the cost involved in the program. It sounds expensive.

Can someone give me a heads-up on how much it costs to do Cohens? Are there weekly fees, do you have to pay for food (like Jenny Craig), or is there simply a one-off entry fee?

Hi everyone. I am kicking myself after a bad week last week. I just picked here, nibbled there, until I had eaten forbidden food every day. Mostly carbs, I was just craving chips, shapes and biccies. So I ate .... in small but noticeable quantities. Hence I am exactly the same weight I was 9 days ago! I am lucky I didn't actually regain.
I am back on the wagon today without even a slip in any direction but I am crabby with myself. what a waste of a week. I am going to try to stay as strong as I can all week wth NO nibbling.
L jay I sympathise, but we can do it. Lets both just sit right up there on the wagon and ride off into the sunset.
Lizzi 9 months is an amazing achievement and so is your enormous weight loss. Congratulations on such a brilliant job.
Jude, you too are an inspiration.
Moneypenny, i am not a seamstress but I would think unless your clothes were super super expensive they would not be worth altering that much. Ditch 'em and rejoice that you need to! Someone at Vinnies will be so glad to get them.

Hi everyone!

Hope you are well!

Don't worry about a small "hiccup" in your program, to those of you who had a less than perfect weekend. If nothing else, you realise how important this plan is to you, and that nothing is worth not sticking to it.

Start of week 4 for me... so you all know what that mean - official weigh in coming up! Oooh scary. I also have to have my first follow up blood test and I've been reading my info, and it says I don't need to fast for this test. Is that correct? It's going to be interesting, because I need to get my blood test on Easter Saturday - I hope that collection centres are open over easter. I might have to call them.

Well, good luck to everyone this week!

Bella

Hi everyone,

The scales hit 87.8 last week and stayed there since - I have been studying and I had to munch on crisps in order to concentrate. Else, i will be thinking of food all the time.

today's the most awful day ever. my boyfriend of 1.5 years just flew back to his country this afternoon. i had a usual bad, stressful day at the office, and i burst into tears. i was so so so sad.... so i seeked comfort in food - probably shouldn't have eaten so much...but i just needed something familiar and nice.

tomorrow is the start of a new day...
