Cheesey Weesey...

Hi all,

Maybe the 'three times per week' limit on cheese is part of my individual plan? Beats me why it's written in the food information section and not in my actual program part.

Does anyone else who's just recently got their program have the cheese thing written on the 'allowed foods' page?? Maybe it's something new they've introduced?

Oh well, I'll have to clarify with my consultant next week.

Girls, I only have three more days until my 1 month weigh-in... at which point I've set myself a goal of 7 kilos. Somehow I don't think I'm gonna make it... I have to lose 1.4 kilos, and after only losing 500 grams last week I'm not getting my hopes up.

I'm so gonna cry if I don't make my first goal. I don't wanna know that so much effort has gone to waste. Less than 7 kilos in one month on a 'rapid fat loss' plan seems so measly to me ( because we all know the greater majority of weight lost in the first week is water... and weight loss slows down after the initial transition into a program ) . :( :( :(

If I'd waivered and cheated here and there I'd be super happy with my weight loss so far... but I haven't and I don't understand what's going on ***cries*** :(

Anyway, I'll wind down my pity party for now... fingers crossed Tuesday morning holds a nice suprise for me

Take care all.

Pink Virgo, I just checked my plan and I am only allowed cheese once a day and 3 times a week. But it seems everytime I eat cheese now (I never really liked it before) I feel really queezy so I really don't want to eat it anyway.

PinkVirgo my plan also says cheese no more than 3 times a week - and no feta ever! Goodluck for your weigh-in on tuesday -we'll all have our fingers crossed for you!

mmmmmm.....cheese

Pink Virgo -I probably got my program around the same time as you and yes, my program too says 'try' to limit cheese to only three times a week - there's some fine print for ya!! I didn't even notice, and have been LOVING having tinned asparagus and mushrooms with mozzarella cheese on crackers in the griller everyday for lunch this week- YUM! I've only been having it for my lunch meal, so I figure that as long as my weight keeps going down I'll keep having it on days that I feel like it. Wierd hey that they don't give any explanation as to 'why' you should only have it three times a week - I can understand feta as it is soooo salty, but surely everything else would be ok???
Also Pink Virgo, don't be discouraged by a small weight loss - I nearly laughed my head off the other day watching an ad for Lite n Easy where this woman was going on and on about this amazing weight loss that she'd had - but at the bottom of the screen it exclaimed how she had lost 8 kilos in 8 weeks - now, in Cohen's terms, I think that's pretty dismal - and we all know that we're onto a good thing here, that WILL be a lot quicker than most other stuff we've tried. And, hey, at least we get to eat real food, not crappy frozen tablespoon portions!!!! So no tears k!!!! ;)
As for the Hungry Jacks thingo, we have been having endless commercials here for new KFC mashies - they're balls of mashed potato coated in the KFC coating with a dipping sauce - YUM - so I know how you feel!! Guess where I'll be visiting for a treat when I eventually finish this!

To everyone else, you are all doing amazing, I'm so jealous of everyone doing their refeeds, but I'll get there eventually!!! Thanks for all the great posts guys, keeps me motivated to no end!!!

Have a great weekend! :)

Just a question for all...

How many of you actually took a BEFORE pic & placed it in the front of your program folder??

I'm having my photo taken tonight (glamourous :p ....NO!) I think as my consultant said, it's a great reminder WHY you can't deviate from the plan!! Not to mention the boost it gives you knowing that was you just weeks ago!!

As much as it's going to be SO hard to sqeeze into my togs for the photo (mentally) I think that way I'll get maximum effect with the whole "this was me BEFORE". No one else will see it... Don't you just LOVE camera timers & digital technology....not to mention colour printers

XX Thanks guys for the fantastic support & well wishes!!!

Expectations....

Hi everyone,
Great to see everyone doing so well.

Just on the cheese subject, my plan is 12 months old and it says to have cheese maximum once a day (feta once a week). This is due to the high salt content which will cause water retention. The plan is personalised and it's good to see that everyone has something different. ;)

Pinkvirgo: We all put high expectations on ourselves and what we would like to lose and then disappointment sets in when these expectations are not met. The weightloss on this program seems to be in cycles and you should not be disappointed with what you have already lost.

"If I'd waivered and cheated here and there I'd be super happy with my weight loss so far... but I haven't and I don't understand what's going on ***cries*** "

You should be proud of your weightloss achievement. You can't compare your weightloss with anyone else's as we are all different and lose at different rates. Yes, it may be disappointing to see only a 500g loss but the overall picture is 5.6kgs. That's 11 tubs of margarine. Put them on a table and see how it looks. It is amazing!!! :D The important thing to remember is to be consistent with your weightloss and you will reach your goal weight before you know it. Be proud and it's ? kgs less than you were before. Good luck on Tuesday and I hope you reach your first goal.
That's my two cents' worth.

Have a good weekend. :)

Good evening everyone.
Thanks for the words of support about telling people when on this program and I was very interested to read all about refeeds and life after Cohen's , so thanks so much to those of you who added something to that discussion.

I am at day 8 today and am doing well, I haven't had any hunger to speak of and have lost all the severe sugar cravings I had been experiencing before I started. I seem to be losing an average of approx 300g per day, which is fine by me, of course I'd love it to be masses more (who wouldn't?) but its still quite a decent weekly loss. I am getting pimples though and think it might be because I am drinking so much and flushing everything out. What do you think? has anyone else had this experience also?
I had such a yummy tea tonight. This combination of foods may be one that you have tried already but if you haven't... give it a go. Its totally delicious!

Mustard Mango Chicken

Stir fry:
Onion
Capsicum
Chinese cabbage
Chicken

Add finely chopped mango combined with mustard and mayonnaise and a little water. Reduce juices until cooked to your satisfaction. Season with ground pepper and salt if desired. This is super delicious.
cheers

Hi, I'm a new kid on the block. Have been doing Cohens since monday now saturday and although I know youre not supposed to hop on the scales I couldnt help myself and have lose 4kgs already. Dont feel at all hungry but find it hard as my hubby is trying to do it to. its really hard to weigh my food then his food and cook seperately. does anyone have a solution to this. cant cook both together as then the weights wouldnt work ( being cooked measurements that is).
everyone seems to be going great guns on this diet so hope I can follow your examples.

Another NEWBIE

Hi There,

I recived my COHENS plan yesterday and am all set to start tomorrow. I did a big food shop today and was surprised at how much money i saved - compared to my usual shop i spent very little. I am excited and nervous about starting but can't wait to see results. My bestfriend has lost about 20 kilos on cohens ... however she did it a little differently. She did the first 2 weeks super strictly never broke etc and lost about 8 - 9 kilos then each week thereafter on Sundays she had whatever she wanted for one meal ... so long as it didnt contain bread or pasta etc and she still lost weight. she claimed that it kept her on track and boosted her metabolism as she was always down a kilo the morning after her free meal. I was just curious as to if anyone else does this ... she looks amazing, and still follows this even with her re-feed etc. I would be interested to know if anyone else has had this experience. It might be the way to staying on track. I am considering doing it her way myself.

Anyways i am so glad i found this site - finally a real forum with real ppl. I heard about The Lounge and its fiasco. But here it feels like a internet home and I am looking forward to joining you all on the quest to slimness.

I am a 24 year old female from Perth and weigh 72 kilos at the moment ... Cohens has set my weight goal at 54 - 57 kilos. Which seems so far away but going by what i have read here i could easily be there this time in April. I cant wait.

Hello everyone,

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing.:) Looks like lots of new people. Welcome to you all. It's nice to see how this forum is growing. I'm about halfway and feeling great. Nice to get the compliments and have people interested in what you're doing to make the change. I'm enjoying having my clothes get too big . . .haven't seen that in a long time.:D I haven't gotten bored with it and usually by this time I'd be looking for a way out. I'm motivated and focused and know that once you get going and feel comfortable with the diet you will be too . . .Happy weight loss everyone!

L-Jay, once you have made the ticker, copy everything from "bbCode" and then go to your UserCP, edit your signature and post it in there. If you have any troubles, I have posted some pics to help you.

kim j01

trying to also put ticker on my messages, saw your pics but when I go to Control Panel where do I go from there to edit my signature. Another computer illiterate. Cheers.

View the 2nd picture and up in the top left you will see "Edit Signature". Click on that and paste the code into the box as shown. Hope this helps ! :D

gayegel

Welcome to all the new ones. Hope this is a really life changing experience for you. I am sure you will achieve your weight loss goals if you stick with the program.
Hope this helps gayegel. When you go to the control panel, look down the left hand side of the screen and you will see Control Panel and immediately underneath is Edit Signature. Then you will see the space where you can paste it.
Let us know if you still have a problem.

No problem L-Jay !

I was just thinking about it before and I am curious if we can do sit ups on the program? I know we're not supposed to exercise if we don't already (and I don't lol) but I wouldn't mind doing some sit ups during the program. Does anyone else do them? Please let me know your thoughts !

Help Me!!

Hi There,

Well so much for starting today ... i had breakfast and was set for the day but caved at lunch time and ate some serious bad stuff. So I will start tomorrow ... which should be better for me as i am always better at starting diets etc when I am working. So we shall see how i go ... i will do this. I have been thinking about my mini goals and am thinking about things i could do to celebrate them ... and i was reading over past posts and got inspired to use these little victories as times to re-invent myself w new hairstyle, clothes and all things lovely.

Los of new people on here ... i think its good that i joined now as there are so many ppl starting and others getting re-feed programs ... so its the best of both worlds. I am sure i will be a daily weigh in person as i have no patience in waiting so i am not going to try and stop myself plus i reckon it will be inspiring and make me stick to the plan if i do weigh daily.

I have only told a few ppl about my Cohen's - I need to be strong w this diet and say no to foods i dont want to eat - i have a couple of friends who are supportive and others who think i am starving myself and another whom sabotages my weight loss efforts. Have any others had this experince?

Ok so its my birthday on Thursday and my Mum is taking my friends and i too chincese for dinner to celebrate - what do i order, or do u reckon i sould phone up first and see if they are able to do me a special meal of stir fry prawns and veg? I am going to drink heaps of water before i go to starve off the idea of tempation. hehe.

enjoy ur sunday
