Ladies ladies ladies, and any chaps out there!

it's been a slow two weeks, I think I need to change something, like the weight is coming off, but slow as almighty.

Unlike some of you, I have relied on crackers and fruit, I've taken some advice from Joysey and bought some Blackmores Sugar Craving, if I can reduce the reliance on the fruit and crackers I'm sure we will start seeing some movement at the fort.

I'm also believe it or not, trying to not do the daily weigh in!!! how hard it that! I think I just need to take that microscopic focus off the diet, this is a new way of life, and should just be that, not some experiment that I monitor daily.

I'm also trying to do alot of work around reprogramming my mind when it comes to food, food is fuel, it's just the stuff I use to make my body work. It is not the answer to everything ... (I'm convincing myself more and more each day)

Well what a great day with Myshy and Joysey, two of the many women on this forum that amaze me.

Alright, I'm off to walk off some of this pain, I have a pinched nerve or slipped disc in my back, impossible, walking, sitting, sleeping, laying down for any length of time.

Stay good, stay focused and stay motivated! :)

Howdy!

Hello there everyone.

Well, I am new to this however have been reading the forum now for a couple of weeks. I received my program yesterday and will be starting in the next day or so. All of the encouraging words and stories posted on here have helped me to really get excited about the diet. A big thank you!

Anyway, this was just a quick post to test if I'm skilled enough to post correctly! And fingers crossed my ticker comes up... I guess I'll need some advice about how to do it if it doesn't pop up at the bottom.

Take care guys, here's to the beginning of my new lease on life!

:p

Welcome Pink Virgo

Welcome Welcome!

Some of us are nearing the end (not me), some are just starting (like you) and some are a 1/4 of their trip (like me).

Congratulations on taking the first step, it's hard, but god it is worth it, this program works like a hot knife through butter!!

Just out of interest how much do you have to lose?

any questions just ask.

DAY 117 59.3kgs
Hi everyone, hope you are all well and it looks like you are all SHRINKING, congratulations. I see we have some new people who have joined us and I'd really like to give you a big WELCOME. We are all here to help and support each other. Good on you for making the choice to join Cohen's and to join us here.

MYSHY & CRYSS: You are both the most wonderful people I have met. Thank you for all the time you spent chatting on Friday, it was the best and I appreciate both of you for doing that as I know you are both extremely busy…..

KASSEYSMUM: Great to read your thread and I am just so pleased to here you are back on track. Had a pretty successful 4 days away even though I had to eat out 3 times. The magic tea didn’t work while I was away so when I got back I got stuck right into it and after it worked I had lost ½ kg which took me down to my magic figures of exactly 60kgs. YEAH, I’ve done it. Met up with Myshy and Cryss on Friday and we had a wonderful time so can’t wait until you come down, it will be great. I was going to start my re-feed on Friday but then found out we had to go out for dinner so I just ordered steak and salad. When I jumped on the scales this morning I was 59.3kgs so have started it today so it will be interesting to see if the scales go down further tomorrow. I shall let you all know.

DIVINEMISNAT: I hope you are feeling better now after that flight, it sounds terrible. You baby is absolutely beautiful. I am an absolute dog lover and have 4 of them, I keep telling my husband I want another baby (dog of course).

DANPOL: Hi here my friend, I hope you have been well. You definitely will get there.

NEARLYTHERE40KGS: Yes, I take blackmores calcium tables, I think it is a good idea. I also have yoghurt for breakfast, the Yoplait (don’t know if I spelt that right) with the apple green label, no fat and it is just YUMMO. There is 80 calories in a 200g tub. It definitely has not effected my weight loss, so give it a try, you will be happy that you did. CONGRATULATIONS on your excellent weight loss, you are an absolute winner, bet you feel entirely different. How much do you have to go or have you done it…..

RAJAH: How are you going it must be week 2 or 3 now and you will have lost quite a few kgs, can you feel the difference all ready.

IMR: Great to hear from you, you have done so well. I shall take important notes on your tips, I started today, it will be interesting to see if I loose any more weight on it.

MEL: Those scales look great. By the time you read this as I am just reading through all the threads no you will probably be in the 2 figures. You are a champion and inspiration to everyone. You are going to look absolutely wonderful for you special day. Mel, is that jus a picture of the fat or if not where did you get it, that’s great.

MONI: How are you going, I agree, those ice block sound great and I am going to do it too. If you don’t mind Moni, email me personally and I can advise you on how to start that weight loss going again. joy@finer.com.au
Just don’t want to put it on here as we know there are certain snoops that like to read our threads. If you all know what I mean…..

PINKCANDY: I hope by the time you read this you plan has arrived. I know how you feel, I wanted it instantly too, but believe me it will come and then you will be on our way to the NEW YOU. How much do you have to loose? The crackers we are allowed to eat are paradise lights, vita-weat, ryvita and rice cakes. 2 paradise lights or vita-weats = 1 ryvita or rice cake though.

BLULA: Welcome and congratulations on taking the first step. You will be fine. How did you go on your first week and did you get any headaches? I did when I started but they go so if you did don’t let it worry you….Make sure you stay in touch we would all love to follow you through to the end…

PINKVIRGO, LIZZI & JONELLE257: Welcome :) and I am glad to hear you decided to join us. Unfortunately I am an absolute coffee lover and drink it when ever I want and how much I want. I don’t have milk in it any more but it has not had any impact on my weight loss or blood tests. It’s up to you, but I wouldn’t worry about it. Just have a cup when you feel like it.

SHALL SPEAK TO YOU ALL SOON, SO TAKE CARE EVERY ONE,
BEST WISHES FROM JOY

Welcome

Hi everyone and welcome to the new ladies. Good luck with your programs and successful shrinking!!!

Joysey, good luck with your refeed and congratulations on cracking the 60 kgs mark. You are doing so well and so close to your goal and are a successful Cohen loser. ;) I have lost 4 kgs in week 1 and have had a couple of bad days this week so the scales have not moved since. Am back on track and need to move forward. It sounds like you had a fun day with Cryss and Myshy.

Cryss, congratulations to you for not doing the daily weigh in. I think that is an achievement even harder than following the program. You are controlling your actions and becoming the winner. :D I hope your back gets better. It must be awfully painful. :(

Moni, please be ecstatic about being in the top 20% of Australia in weightloss. That's no small achievement and means the other 80% haven't done this, especially in your timeframe! My Dr once explained to me that your body needs time to adjust to its continual new weight and shape and then you will see the weight start to drop off again. Go Moni..... :D

Jonelle257: sometimes I had dizzy spells but realised I had not taken my vitamins. The vitamins seem to make a difference and I don't feel tired as much.

To everyone else I hope you have a good weekend, well what's left of it. :D

Who's embarrassed???????

This is a Weight Loss Forum and NOT a Political Opinion Forum.

I am shocked and disappointed to see the above posting on what I consider to be one of the most open and friendly sites.

I would have expected more from someone, who having been overweight may have been the brunt of social stigmatism and suffered from narrow minded comments from insensitive people who know no better.

If you look back at your history books, I think you will find it is the colonists who stole from the Aboriginals, their land was stolen, their freedom stolen and their children stolen.

Please keep your, inappropriate, cruel and insensitive comments to yourself and not in this forum, I’d also recommend a little bit of reading on Australian history just so you don’t go embarrassing yourself again.

You should also be wary of posting on a public forum, as some people on this site may have Aboriginal heritage.

CRYSS:
Firstly----I have never been embarrassed about my weight, as I never had a weight problem until I became sick and started taking medication for it!!!!

Next - I have aboriginal hertiage......therefore I know full well the history- thankyou very much......too many people play and dwell on the past...

Next my comments... its called Freedom of speech!!!!!!!!......Are you emabarrassed easily???? If not keep your comments to yourself, I have read all the posts on this forum and really come on!!! Obviously you have nothing better to do.......

Next I do not need to read literature I went to UNI for 4 years, my reading is all done... (unless it involves my clients)...

Tip:

If you don't need the fruit or crackers don't eat them although some people just eat them anyway when they don't really need it!!!!!

Thankyou very much

Thanks for the warm welcome

Hi there again and thank you for the warm welcome I'm receiving.

I just got home from work and thought I'd jump online to see if anyone had any advice on my ticker problem ( as I noticed it DIDN'T come up once I'd posted... grr! ). I've tried adding it to my signature as a hyperlink, so here goes!

Cryss, I have just over 30 kilos to lose. I think I've set myself some mid to high expectations with regard to this program, but nonetheless I won't be deterred or disappointed with slower progress than what I'm hoping for. I'm in this for the long haul and I'm not looking for a quick fix ( although the fact that it's supposed to be a rapid weight loss program was certainly appealing! ).

I'm really getting excited now about starting and getting involved in this whole 'support' network that you've all formed through this forum. I hope I can become as supportive to you all as I know you will be to me.

** And here's hoping the ticker works!! **

G'night all ;)

Lizzi

Good morning all,
Hope it is a good day for weightloss - and just a good day hey! We will get there, so just keep hanging in - this thing works, whether it is fast of slow. Another kilo for me. So pleased 'cos each one counts.

PinkVirgo: about the ticker, have a look at Healthy Mum's post 184 on page 13 because she explained where to copy so we get it right. So glad to see you are so positive and excited. It will be worth it!

I'm off to a great day with a good friend.

Not a political forum

Hi everyone,

Nearly there 40kg: I respect what you say about freedom of speech but I think what Cryss was saying is THIS IS A WEIGHTLOSS FORUM and not the place to make your comments about anything political. There have been no other political comments on this forum since it started. You are very lucky that you have not been overweight all your life and have not suffered the name calling and discrimination like some of us. Most of us are not like this by choice either.

This forum has been very positive and supportive of us all and we need to stick with the intention of this forum. You have done extremely well with your weightloss and your posts have been welcomed and read by all. So let's stick with the topic and continue to get positive and favourable vibes from reading the posts and not the negative ones produced in the posts above.

This forum is helping me and I have made friends on it. Let's move forward and keep it a happy and friendly place like it always has been.

I hope everyone has a good day. :)

Suggestion, don't start attacking someone’s attempts at weight loss progress in this forum.

Your comments are scattered and not very well thought out.

You really missed the point of my post, this may well be because you don't truly understand what you posted in the first place.

Now let's clear a few things up;

I never said that you have been embarrassed about your weight, I did however say that I would have expected more from someone who may have felt the scorn of strangers purely for being different, BIG difference, very big difference.

I doubt if you have aboriginal heritage, otherwise you really wouldn't have posted what you did. I have a number of Koori friends from Victoria and Tasmania who shared Australia Day afternoon with us, not one of them would dream of posting what you did and one girlfriend was disgusted at your narrow mindedness, as they do know what happened to their people.

I'm not embarrassed easily, if I was I wouldn't have replied to your illogical post, unlike others on the forum who thought what I said. Just didn’t bother saying anything (pretty much what I should have done, as it has proven to be a can of worms)

I think you really do need to do something about your posts, I thought it was a little low brow commenting on your grammar and spelling in my initial post, however, since you bought up university, if you actually went to “UNI for 4 years” as you say you did? I would hope that you would be able to construct a logical sentence, with correct spelling and tense, even the right word for the subject under discussion.

As suspected, when all else fails, aim your cruel comments at someone’s weight, true sign of your character when you take it to a personal level, this forum is for people to feel safe and hopefully say what they truly feel about what they are going through, using it against them in a future non-related post is pretty much as low as you can get. So keep your fruit and cracker comments where they belong in this instance, to YOURSELF!

To be honest, I personally am a little tired with your snide back handed comments about others on the forum, talking about fence sitters and back stabbing. You are a nasty piece of work, who I will have on permanent ignore, as I would rather go through my weight loss journey without having to trawl through your grammatically incorrect, badly constructed, cruel and insensitive posts.

Please don’t reply to this post, it will be wasted energy on your behalf, as I won’t be reading it, and no one else cares.

Now to the Cohen's Weightloss Forum ...
I love your soups Myshy. Hadn't been having soup at all until I tried yours. Today I am trying the tomato and cheese one - looking forward to lunchtime.
Moni, I make the mango and chicken - or prawns - often. Love it. I'm not as careful as you. I cook the chicken or prawns in a non stick pan, either add in some veggies or have salad with it, then throw the mango in very roughly chopped. Sometimes I add a bit of water, especially with the prawns, and I make sure all the great juices from the pan are included in the end flavour. Yummo!

Soups and stuff!

Myshy and Co

Has anyone ever thought about compiling all our recipies into one location? (don't tell me it's already been done  )

Maybe we could have them stored in one spot, because I know that the soups get me through when I feel extra hungry, and some of you are far more inventive than I am.

Anyway just a thought.

Recipes & Stuff

Hi Everyone,
Just a quickie...I have people coming over for lunch.

Cryss & Joysey - Thank you both so much for the coffee on Friday. I came home and got my partner to throw out my old scales and I am using my new ones. Restart on my weight 64.5 today :)
You are both amazing women and gave me so much inspiration.

Cryss - I get some of my recipes from the Cohens site and some from the booklet I was given when I joined the program. Others are pure luck. I was actually thinking of typing up a booklet and getting everyone to send in a recipe. It might assist others when you do get a day when you can't think of another thing to do with chicken :p . I am happy to type it up if anyone is interested.

Will post later - welcome to the newbies :)

Myshy

out with the old in with the new!

Go the old scales!

Very proud of you, the pain will only be for one day and then you will be back in the swing of it.

I'm all for the recipe booklet, and would be happy to put it together if you are busy, or at least assist.

Thank you for Friday by the way, I really enjoyed just sitting and chatting and as we said, not talking about work. It's great being able to talk about what you are going through at the time and have someone know exactly what you are talking about.

Let's do it again, soon, maybe when our intrepid traveler returns from Canada?

ok I'm off, the back is back in action so the bathroom is getting a once over (unless I pretend it is still bung, and when the other half returns from Golf I could get him to clean it? hmmm evil thoughts abound! ;) )

Yay for the Ticker!

Eggsellent, my ticker is finally up!

A big thank you to lizzy who steered me in the right direction... and thanks too, to Healthymum who posted the instructions in the first place.

Well, I've yet to decide if I'll start my program tomorrow ( being Monday ) or on my day off the next day. I just haven't had the chance to go shopping for food or plan my weekly menu yet. Anywho, I shall be starting in the next day or two, and think I'll keep quiet for the first week and hopefully have super news about a weight loss when I post again after that.

So here's to success for everybody in the coming week, and to the first shift on my ticker! :D

Long Time No Post

Hi All

It as been ages since I have sat down and posted. Things just seem to be crazy at our house. I never seem to find a spare 5 minutes to myself.

Work is really busy so I don't have my evenings free anymore. I am going to make a time every day to sit down and read and post because I am missing my regular support I think that is why I keep breaking. Yup thats right I cannot seem to get back 94kgs.

I am at 95.2 today. Up and down Up and down... Yesturday NO BREAKING. It feels fantastic to really go a day without it.

Hello to all the new ones since I have last posted. May you find all the encouragement and support that you need from us.

Please may this forum always remain positive and uplifting.

I have decided that I need to be at my goal weight by June 12. This is going to be a romantic weekend away (well in canberra) with my husband NO KIDS.

Talk to you all soon and keep up the great work

myshy, get out the hammer and start fixing your wagon, throw me one and I will help you!!!!

WOAH did I fall off the wagon last night?! :(

Well... i think i can safely say that i have well and truly fallen off the wagon last night.
I went on a wine tour with my b/friends work and did SO well at the wine tasting.. not even a drop.
THEN dinner... the menu was terrible, pasta or fish and chips.. whats the better of the 2? I ask you??!?
I had fish.. grilled with no batter and had a few chips. and champagne. i know, i know! i paid the price too.. a full kilo more on the scales this morning.:(
Won't be doin' that again! i can tell you!

*sigh*
I have my followup meeting on wednesday, and was really hoping to be into the 60's for it, i might just be able to make it. *fingers crossed*

RAJAH-- Thanks for the info on the coke, i have stricken it from my diet.
Sometimes i drink coffe, but with a whitener... does anyone know if that allowed?
And what's the deal on soya milk and cheese???

Thanks for the warm welcome :) :)

hey everyone,
sorry not been here for a while, i'm just wasting my time at the moment, well and truly not doing well.
anyway, about the coke - not allowed coke/diet coke/coke zero because it all has the same caffeine (6 times the amount of coffee) and that's why we can't have it. i drink caffeine-free diet coke tho, i think it's nice! and try to limit coffees to 3 a day. and i read ages ago like years ago that for every coffee you drink, you need to drink twice that in water. so that's on top of the 2 litres min u should drink every day!
and sweeterners you can't have equal but sugarine is fine. equal has one of those -tose's in it you konw, like lactose, sucrose, etc. and sugarine doesn't have it.
i think a recipe thing would be great. i'm not very imaginative with my food! so bring it on!!!
i tried the sprite zero iceblock thing the last few days in this horrible humid weather! i love hot weather, but not humid it's nasty. anyway, nice and cool, kinda tasted like water but then i got the sweet taste. mmm nice one!
anyway, good luck to all the newbies. please dont fall off the wagon else you'll find it quite hard to get back on... trust me!! in fact, i'm sure i'm vouching for eveyrone who's fallen off!!!!
anyway, go, go, go!!!
lisa

trying my ticker again... has it worked???

NICE TICKER lisab!! :)

get back on the wagon! here I'll give you a leg up if you can pull me up afterwards! this heat in Melbourne is killing us.

Many of you girls in hotter cities or rural areas might be used to it, but us Melbournians who kinda dislike humidity are melting (we wish!!!)

Can I ask what you are all making your icey poles in? I'm looking at the ice cube tray and scratching my head, the tooth picks won't stand up!!! ;)
