Hi all,
I have had such an inspiring time reading alot of the threads and success rates of the cohens lifestyle Journals.. I got my program today and just waiting for my husband to come home to go shopping for the essentials...Make sure I am more prepared next week. I have done the sureslim diet and successfully lost 35kilo but back upto 95kilo I had to do something again before I got to the no getting out of bed depressed me... I have mixed feelings, I am scared this wont work for me...but I am also excited at the possibility of what I will be in 4 weeks time. I have a weigh in, in 2 weeks and struggle with the fact that weigh ins are only every 4 weeks (which is a really fantastic idea) No more cheat days, I really did not understand the concept behind these diets as much as I do today thankyou to the support staff at the Melbourne East Clinic -Inspiring.
Its fantastic to think that someone else is so interested in where this program is going to take me and in what time frame....And water well I thought you just drunk that so you wouldnt eat as much...But who would believe there is so much more 2 it.
For me I wish I could pay a maid to do the family shopping and Cook the family meals... I dont think about food all the time but I do struggle with the PICKING when preparing meals, but on the up side I am fully aware of this so may just have to gaffa tape my lips together when cooking LOL really not a bad idea until the habbit is broken. As well as joining this forum I will also start a diary of feeling. I would love anyone interested in Joining this tread and sharing ideas and weight loss and most of all how you feel about yourself and the world this must have had a huge impact on how we ended up on this journey in the first place.... But heads up coz what does not kill us only makes us stronger and I know that most of my family and friends skinny or otherwise would not be successful at a program like this..... NOT LIKE I WILL BE LOL

Look forward to chatting

HIII!!!

Hi Strawbz & welcome to the forum & to Cohen's :D
I read your post & saw so many similarities with how I felt at the start. It is such a strict program, the weighing only once a month, no cheat minutes, let alone days.....
I had decided to do it & believed what my consultant told me. I just had faith. It never let me down. Cohen's is amazing but it is you that will do this. Cohen's is the means to get there & it is totally up to you. Sounds scary I know but when you find that you can do it & you actually do then you will change your life for the better. I sound like a religious fanatic I know but it is similar in some ways in that you must believe. It's not blind faith. You are eating so healthily & looking after your body. It won't take long before you start feeling really good.
I thought I was an absolutely hopeless cook but I learned to cook my own meals & to make them delicious. I didn't trust my husband to cook 100% Cohen's so I started experimenting & cooking my own. The picking as you ate is so much of a habit & like all habits can be changed. That's all they are- habits. Sometimes I actually spat out things in shock when I realised what I had done.
You sound determined to succeed & that is what will do it. Be totally switched on to it. Cohen's 100% WILL work but it must be 100%. You can do it!
Cheers for now, Cate.

Hey there,
Thankyou so much for your replies well day one was yesterday and in the afternoon I got struck down with a migraine NOT NICE... I dragged myself out of bed and ate my dinner but I stuck to the program 110% and just kept reminding myself throughout the day that I would not have to wear these same clothes in 2 months....YIPPEE when I lose all my weight my husband and I are going to Thailand shopping as a reward I am so excited especially at the fact of wearing a skirt to the beach......No long pants to cover the fat or large tshirts that cover you but at the same time make you look larger than you are in the first place. Day 2 today and the headache is gone I have had breakfast and ready to tackle the day....I keep looking at myself in the mirror saying this wont be you for much longer....SO EXCITING>>> So how much weight have you guys lost so far on the Cohens diet. I have cancelled a few social events so I can stay focused and I think after 2 or so weeks I will have more to lose if I cheat because as they say One slip up will change all the hormones in your body and will cost you another week to get them back to fat burning....Totally not worth it. The clinic was worried about Christmas I am so focussed it does not phase me at all. I have lost weight before over the christmas break and I will do it again....

Cheers Strawbz

Hey, thats good that you stuck to it :) I have lost about 7kgs on cohens in 5 weeks, however i havnt completely stuck to it unfortunately but i am back on it now so im more determined than ever now because im starting to see the difference and want to keep seeing that change! :D goodluck with day 3! :D

Hi I am new here, and this is my first post. I paid enrolled in the Cohen diet yesterday and plan to start on January 2. New Year, New Me. A resolution I have no intention of breaking. Where are you from? I am from Manila, Philippines.

I have 100 lbs to lose and am excited to know how much I would weigh on my birthday on June. I hope I have lost 50 lbs. by then. I am doing all my socializing this month as I also plan to stay away from parties to concentrate on my diet. I hope you can also help and guide me in my journey.

Hi Winkiedo & welcome to the forum. It sounds like you are preparing well for Cohen's. If you want to help yourself along a bit before you start, this thread will help you-
http://weight-loss.fitness.com/cohe...art-eating-right-before-starting-program.html
It's a good idea to wait until the new year or a time where you feel you can give the program 100%.
Re: how much you will lose by June. I can only go on how much I lost in 6 months. I had 36kg to lose & I lost them in a little over 6 months (28 weeks) Everyone's weight-loss is different. The main thing is to stick to the program 100% and you will lose all of your weight.
You have made an excellent choice by doing Cohen's & I wish you well. I'll keep an eye out for you in the new year. Cheers, Cate

Welcome

Hi Winkiedo,

What a fantastic decision I know one you will no regret and as Cate mentioned "if you stick at it 100%" I am new to Cohens also and I am on my second week and had a few UNEDUCATED MISTAKES... I have trouble fitting in my Crispbreads so 2 of the days I only managed 4 and the other rule I sadly, Blindly made was eating 4 at one time... My husband had made my lunch and I ate that and 2 crispbreads and when I got home he told me that my meal had 2 in it already I was so so sad because I have been doing amazing on the eating Plan.. I love the cook books and Chicken Curry is my absolute fav meal...YUM YUM. I have been avoiding parties etc. but I sat through a catch up with a friend and the kids at Mc Donalds and DID not even feel like eating anything.. I have a mind set that the food I am eating is my Medicine so I am enjoying it to a point but I am just eating it because I have 2. Read your program regularly to avoid mistakes and if someone is preparing your meals be well aware what it in it. I get weighed in on Monday and I am so so excited...It is really hard to stay off any scales but it is all worth the bigggggg suprise when I get weighed.

Few quotes that I have read have really made a huge impact for me on the Cohens diet and they are "ONE slip up=One more week on the program"
And if you are not going to follow the program 100% your wasting your time.
These 2 keep me very in check about where I sit, and that is 2005 motivated. I suffer with irritable bowel and it has been playing up the last 2 or 3 days wondering if anyone has any suggestions....????? Looking forward to tracking your progresss.....Remember although you will have a complete lifestyle change this program is only for a short time before the Refeed... Enjoy the Journey and Rewards...

Thank you Cate and strawbz for welcoming. A friend started Cohen this week. I had a preview of her diet and I think it is doable. I think I will plan my meal weekly. I hope the holiday season will already pass so I can start on my own diet!

good luck to you guys! :) you can do it - cohen really works. i cheated a couple of times on the diet AND I REGRET THOSE TIME 101%. (It was tough though, I didn't want to cheat but I went out of the country and had no kitchen access - excuses, excuses!:smash:)

@winkiedo, i'm from manila too but doing my program via the singapore clinic! you can do it :)

goodluck tummy, really you are from Manila too? Is it cheaper to get it via Singapore clinic. I got mine for P55,000. A friend who signed in earlier already lost 8 lbs in 5 days!

Its now been 3 weeks

Wow life gets so busy at christmas time I hope everyone is still going their best to become the person that they want to be. I had my first weigh in last Monday and what a pleasant suprise LOST 5.6kg Oh I nearly cried all that hard work and well YES COHENS works. Been really tough over the last week with all the Xmas chocolate and short breads laying around but hey who cares.... Weight today (Naughty) lost another 2kg So this time 3 weeks ago I weighed 94.8 now I am 87kg see I know starting before christmas was hard but I didn't want to weigh anymore so I had to make sacrifices. I have bought a box I keep in my pantry so if anyone is offering my most fav food in the world I take some and put it in my REFEED box LOL. That way I am not missing out I will be able to eat it one day. My husband and I booked out holiday to Phuket in late May so I definately have a huge incentive....SHOPPING SHOPPING SHOPPING new clothes here I come. Hope you all are well and I hope to hear some of your exciting news soon'

Strawbz:cheers2::cheers2:

87kg!! That's great. Well done Strawbz!! Late May to Phuket- sounds lovely. I have not been there but must plan a holiday soon. The anticipation is half the fun. Doing well sweet-heart! xoxo Cate
