Coffee before a work out???

I know ive just posted but i thort this was an interesting theory...

A friend of mine drinks a large strong coffee and a redbull before hitting the gym and sometimes before a huge workout, an aspirin. I know there will both dehydrate you, but he says, if u drink pleanty of water its fine. The idea is that the Caffine or the aspirin helps hold of the pain from heavy lifting which enables you do push out a few more reps.

Anyone else think this is a good idea?
Im on a alcohol and caffine free diet, but if it will help i might try it, but not the aspirin.
 
A lot of the old workout fuel drinks had a bunch of caffeine and ephedra in them. I don't necessarily think that the aspirin or caffeine will numb the effects of lifting, but I've never tried it. To me, the dehydration possibility isn't worth the possible benefits.
