Good morning:) ,
My name is Coco and I am starting my diary here in attempt to loose 47 pounds.
In the Summer of 2005 my weight went up to 235 pounds and no matter how hard I tryed to loose weight - nothing worked. Finally, my doctor decided to check my thyroid function . The test showed I have a very bad case of underactive thyroid and that was the reason as to why I was unable to loose anything despite my exercise and diet. Almost six months past since my doctor put me on medication. With the help of everyday exercise and very careful diet in combination with Herbalife I was able to loose almost 50 pounds and get my weight down to 182. That is until not so long ago when I suffered set back, lost all my motivation and hope...
So, I am here today to finish what I have started. I will be posting everyday everything I have to go through to reach my goal and hope it will work:) .

Hey Coco!!
Nice to have you on the site!!:D It sounds like you're off to an awsome start! I know a few people that have troubles with their thyroid, both over and under active...I know it's a real challange. Good luck, keep up the good work!!!

Glad to see ya here, Coco!! You have the motivation, and your off to a good start, you can totally do it :)

I know what ya mean about missing your usual snacks tho lol- I usta get Mcdonalds fries as least four times a week before I started, which was in December, and I haven't had any fast food since then :) If I(willpower of a goat) can do it, you can totally do it :)

green tea is a great antioxidant and is proven to boost your metabolism. But you're probably not wanting caffeine late at night. They're great in the morning - before a workout... caffeine helps you burn up to 30% more calories.. but it's not to be overdone though ofcourse... water is always best. Anyways - GREAT START! Snack on fruit when you're hungry! Can't wait ot hear how day #2 went! :)

((((((Girls, you are simply wonderful!!!)))))) It feels so great to know that I can always find support here, from you!!!:) :) :) Million huggs to all!:)i

Anyway, reporting for my second day, Thursday March 16th:

Breakfast: Protein Shake
Lunch: Salad (tomatoe, two table spoons of red beens, some baked salmon)
Dinner: baked chiken coated in oatmeal + tiny cup of red grapes.

Drank 1 gallon of water, no food after 7p.m.

Excercise: 1 hour cardio + 20 minutes of weight training upper body.
Almost dropped dead. Everything hurts. Whent on Ebay and bought rediculously expensive hat. Felt much better:p . Fell asleep at 9 p.m. and slept like a baby all night long.:p

Hi Coco,

I came across your thread and decided I should have my thyroid checked out too, since I've been working out now for 3 months, over 1 month DAILY, and have lost nearly nothing. So, thank you for the motivation!

Are you still hungry at night after dinner? I've read that snacking with healthy foods throughout the day will help curb your appetite in the evening, so if you feel you're still hungry at night...that's a good solution. I admire that you don't eat after 7 p.m., that's definitely something I should consider, especially since I don't do much at night other than homework.

What type of cardio do you do? I'm always looking for more variety. :) Hope to talk to you soon!

Hey, I think you really should check your thyroid. Ask your doctor for blood test to check TSH Levels and T4, T3. Hope it helps:) .I know how bad it feels when you work so hard with 0 result:( .
To answer your question: no, I am not hungry after dinner at all. I am stubborn and motivated :p and there is no way I am going back to those huge pink pants I bought when I was 235! When it comes to cardio, I do treadmill for one hour on 3.4 - 3.5 mile 10 minutes walking, 10 minuts walking faster on incline - not easy, but nobody said it will feel comfortable, right? :)

Here we go, Friday March 17th.:)

Breakfast: protein shake
Lunch: Sashimi (raw salmon and tuna) + sea weed salad + two small pieces of eel (fish).

Dinner: Herbalife protein bar.

Drank 1 gallon of water.
Not eatting after 7p.m - just a little cup of herbal tea.

Exercise: 1 hour of cardio. Didn't do weights because my body is killing me, barely got through cardio, had to sit for 30 minutes to recover:rolleyes: :) . Not looking forward to months and months of torture on treadmill, but on the other hand I am so looking forward to my vocation in Italy in June...:)

Hello, everyone:) . Sorry I was not posting lately. I am very sick with flue and unable to consentrate on anything:( . Despite my flue, I am still going strong with my diet ( nothing after 7p.m. calory intake below 900 per day), I drink 1 gallon of water per day and until today I did my usual 1 hour intense cardio work out. I don't think I will be able to do it today though, I feel week and there is no possible way I will be able to go thorugh with an hour of cardio today. My body hurts all over, not only legs, arms, but eyes and I have a very bad sore throat which makes it so hard to drink water:( . I am not giving up, I am just a little bit sick and when I am sick, as my mom used to say, I behave like a baby.:(

I'm sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. I'm also a big baby when I'm sick! You should consider raising your calorie intake, especially if you exercise alot. I've read a lot of material on weight loss and it seems that most say women trying to lose weight should be on a 1200 calorie diet with exercise and that it was the minimum amount to give your body what you need and to give you energy for your workout. Besides, it might help you to feel better sooner! Well, take care and I hope you get better soon!

HELLO ALL :)

Coco, hope you feel better soon. I wasn't able to loose weight either and when i went to the doctor, i had hypothyroid, after taking medication, i lost 15 lbs, but slowly started gaining it back. I went to the dr's again and he raised my medication because blood work showed that thryroid was still low. I also take medication for a pituitary tumor and from reading other forums, people with a pituitary tumors have a hard time loosing weight, but i have the determination and i really want to loose the weight, so i will continue to work hard and stay away from McDonalds. OK, I guess what i wanted to get across is go the the doctor and have them do the blood work because if your hormones are not leveled it will be hard to loose weight

Hi, girls! I am so very happy to be back.:) Thank you for your kind words and good wishes, they really mean a lot to me:p . Well, what do you know! Guess who fell of the wagon? Yep, that's right. ME!:( My flue progressed into pneumonia and, as you can imagine, I was not able to work out or drink huge amounts of water or eat right foods. I didn't gain any weight, but I didn't loose either. Starting today I am back on my diet and work out regiment and hope I will be able to do it this time.
I tryed to go on treadmill yesterday, but had such a hard time breathing!:( I can not believe how fast my body got out of shape and I feel just flat out horrible. I am disgusted with myself, hate to look at myself in the mirror:( .

Nena, I hope you are doing OK:) . My heart goes out to you as I know how hard it is to loose weight with any kind of medical condition. Don't loose your hope ever because you absolutely can reach your goal!:)

You shouldn't feel bad about yourself!! You were sick and besides, you didn't gain any weight! Don't worry about having trouble on the treadmill. You're body will bounce back faster than you think. Just keep up the good work! You'll reach your goals!

Hello, Somesaymisty! :) Thank you for encouraging me. I had a very tough time yesterday. Here is what I did:

Lunch: Spinach + baked salmon
Snack: protein bar
Dinner: 1 orange

Exercise: 1 hour of very tough cardio in the morning.
1 hour weight resistant training at night.
Drank 1 gallon of water. By the end of the day I couldn't move at all:p , but today I feel great!!!:)
