Clock's Diary

Hey everybody! I'm new here, actually I signed up about a month ago but I just ended up getting around to starting this diary. My main problem is that I eat too much. If I could just cut back I would lose weight. I have also been lazy recently when it comes to exercising so I am planning to start up P90x on Monday.

I plan to begin visiting the forum here every day and I hope that together we all can achieve our goals.

1. What is your current height and weight? 6’5”, around 230. I will weigh myself on Monday December, 20 and will report the exact weight.
2. If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be? Weight isn’t a big deal, ideal would be 35” waist, but my current goal is 37” (actual number of inches around my waist, not pants size.)
3. At what weight would you like to be at four months from now? 37” or less waist.
4. Why do you want to lose weight? Healthier, look better.
5. Do you want to lose weight for a specific life event such as wedding or reunion? If so, when is that event? Not exactly, have to lose weight for work though.
6. What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals? Main problem is eating too much. Portion sizes can be too big.
7. Why do you think that you now have a weight problem? Eat too much.
8. What lifestyle changes do you think would help you lose weight? Eat less. Exercise more regularly.
9. Have you lost weight in the past? If so, what has worked in the past to help you lose weight? I was able to control portion size and not eat too much and exercise regularly.
10. Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back? Currently eating too much.
11. What, if anything, has not worked for you in the past in helping you to lose weight? Why do you think it did not work? Has not happened.
12. Would you try writing down all food and drink consumed for a given period of time? Yes
13. Do you cook at home often? If so, what do you cook? Yes. Rice and beans, oatmeal, cereal, protein shake made with frozen fruit, juice, water, and whey protein.
14. How often do you go out to eat? Where do you go? Basically never.
15. What are your three favorite foods? I eat protein bars (like Powerbars), oatmeal, sandwich with Morningstar meatless patty.
16. What are your three favorite restaurants? Don’t really ever go to restaurants.
17. What are three things you can do differently when it comes to food? Plan out what I am eating ahead of time, not eat too much, actually stick with the eating plan.
18. If you woke up tomorrow and your body was exactly the way you want it, what would be different? Less body fat.
19. Do you eat when you are not hungry? Yes…well sometimes. I try to plan out what and when I will eat rather than going off hunger.
20. Do you binge eat (large amounts at a time)? Yes.
21. Do you hide your food or eat in secret? No.
22. Do you eat when you are sad, nervous, or depressed? No.
23. Do you eat as a reward? No.
24. Do you eat while watching TV or using the computer? Never
25. What do you normally eat for a meal? Protein bar, sandwich, maybe oatmeal.
26. What type of snacks do you eat? Don’t really eat snacks.
27. In terms of exercise, what, if anything, are you currently doing? Nothing, I have been lazy lately.
28. Where do you go for exercise? A local public gym? School/work gym? Home? I did P90x at home but I am have not been doing it recently. I have been thinking of joining a gym.
29. What, if anything, are your three favorite types of exercise? I like the P90x workouts as well as the Insanity workouts but it is hard to get motivated to do them at home. At a gym I like lifting weight as well as using treadmills and elliptical machines.
30. What is your daily/weekly/monthly/yearly motivation to move towards your goals? I am going on a vacation in about 3 months so I would hope to lose weight before then. But I would like to have a healthier lifestyle overall rather than just a one time weight loss thing.
31. Do you have rewards for certain goals? Well I would be healthier and look better so that is my goal.

Heya! welcome to the forum!

Thanks a lot! Today went well, about 1190 calories. I ate some trail mix but tomorrow I am going to take that out and add a protein bar earlier in the day. The bar will help me get more protein than the mix. And I think that spacing the food out more during the day will also help.

Welcome to WLF, best of luck with your efforts and keeping track of it here- I can tell you it helps so much to keep yourself accountable and on the rails.

I was thinking about that. I am really trying hard not to eat so much so it is weird for me to say I should be eating more. I really don't know what to do. I am thinking about switching to a different type of protein bar which will add a few calories as well as some protein.

Today went pretty well again....about 1320 calories. I did the P90x workout and I just hated it. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

I missed yesterday and am just doing it now.

So my calories were way up to 1600. But I drank 200 calories of milk and I switched to different protein bars which added 270 so it isn't like I really ate that differently. I plan on not drinking much milk in the future

Ideally you probably want about 2000 cals a day anyway, maybe have a handful of nuts?
Hows the workout routine working anyway? I hear that is a really hard one to do?

Hi Clock, I just wanted to say hi and wish you all the best on your journey. I think you're doing great so far! Keep up the good work :)

Hey you could switch to skim milk to save on some cals?

Jess

Hi everyone.

I got off track and missed posting on here for a couple of days. I've been eating ok lately. Not really good but not terrible either.

Today went well though, back to eating my normal stuff. I usually eat 2 protein bars during the day spaced out about 4 hours apart. Just today I started eating half of a bar every 2 hours. So I'm still eating 2 bars over an 8 hour period but they food is more spaced out.

Today went well. About 1300 calories or so.

The weird part was I wasn't hungry at all in the evening. I ended up just waiting like an hour and eating but it was weird for me to not want to eat. I have the eating schedule pretty set so it was odd to not want to eat at the normal time.

Today was another pretty good day. Not exactly sure of the calories since I didn't count exactly how much I was eating of some stuff but around 1700-1800 calories total.

Hi everyone. Today wasn't so great. I got off my normal eating plan in the morning. Then at night I ate an unhealthy snack, and I'm sure I ate too much of it too. It seems like once I start eating bad it is hard to get back to my normal plan. I make one bad decision early in the day and it makes it way harder to get back on track.

Haven't been eating so great lately. I don't know why I am doing this. I have got to get back on track tomorrow.
