I am finally back in the swing of things - did my first weights workout on Monday in a long, long time (chest & arms)! I've changed to a 2 day split but, legs, back & shoulders day is going to be a struggle to begin with!! Doing core and ab work after both workouts. I'm aching at the moment but, its a feeling I've missed :) I didn't overdo it and was sensible with the weights I attempted given such a long break.

Starting to hit the cardio again this week. Morning cardio for 25mins before breakfast this morning. Going to hit the gym for about 60mins after work...

Managed another fasted cardio session this morning but, only managed about 50mins at the gym last night. I guess that as I've not been doing any cardio training for a while, I need to realise I must learn not to run before I can walk (pun intended!)

The 2 day split is definitly going to suit me better. Its nice to know that I can just go home after work for a change rather than feeling obligated to go and train. Plus, I know that I'm not breaking my routine - looks like I may have found the 'balance' I was looking for :)

Big workout tomorrow - back, shoulders and legs....its gonna hurt!
 
Another 25mins cardio first thing this morning. I was particularly impressed with myself because the comfortableness and warmness of my bed this morning seemed to be double what it is normally!! :)
 
Ok so, my gentle re-introduction to weights week ended a little something like this yesterday (1 x 10, 1 x 8, 1 x 6 unless specified otherwise)

Deadlifts
Arnie Press
Squats (1 x 12, 1 x 10, 1 x 8, 1 x 6)
One Armed Rows
Shrugs (1 x 12, 1 x 10, 1 x 8, 1 x 6)
Calf Raises (1 x 12, 1 x 10, 1 x 8, 1 x 6)
Back Extensions (weighted)
Lat Pulldown
Rear Delt Rows
Weighted Crunches on ball (3 x 15)
Ball Plank (2 x 1minute)

30mins cardio

Weights currently on about 70% what I was lifting before which seems to be about the right level. Some are slightly more but, none are less. WIll hopefully increase this rapidly as the creatine kicks in and the muscles creak back to life.

One word describes today........ouch!! :)
 
I must have put the wrong year in or something - I am only a mere 34 years young. Barely out of my teens really! ;)

No morning cardio today - won't have anytime for the gym today either. Too much to do. Chest & arms will have to wait until tomorrow. Thats the nice thing about a 2 day split, it really doesn't matter if I have to skip a day or whatever, catching up is easy :D
 
Arms & chest yesterday - increased some of the weights slightly. Had no time for cardio after the gym but, managed 25mins this morning. Might go to the gym just for cardio later.
 
Its all been about cardio this week. 25mins fasted every morning apart from today and did about an hour at the gym yesterday evening. Back, shoulders & legs tomorrow which I'm actually looking forward to!!

Still got a cupboard full of beer left over from my birthday so, whilst I have been eating pretty clean lately, I have been having a cheeky beer or two of an evening :eek:
 
I finish work in 10 minutes and I really don't know if I can be bothered to go to the gym!! :(

I'm going to suck it up and go anyway but, I had hoped to be more enthusiastic after my long break...
 
That was really, really hard work! Increased weights on the deadlifts but, couldn't face back extensions as a result. Skipped cardio completely but, once I was finished, I was extremely pleased that I'd struggled through the workout. I feel all nice and tingly now :D
 
Did HIIT yesterday for the first time in months. Only managed 25mins (5min warmup and only 45 sec intense bursts) but, felt like I'd worked really hard. I've got a bit of backache from deadlifts but, still plan on heading to the gym later today to do arms and chest and maybe 30mins cardio.

Need to start making my morning cardio more regular too, I'm probably only doing 3 mornings a week atm.

Finished all my birthday beer now so, will be losing a lot of empty calories from my diet :D
 
Did chest and arms yesterday and have noticed some significant improvements already. Had to go to the gym at peak time though so, it was really busy which I can't stand. Had to skip inclined bench press as there was a queue for the bench :( Did about 30mins cardio afterwards.

Managed about 15mins cardio this morning (I overslept a little) so, may try and make up for it later with a bit of HIIT - depends how I feel after work.
 
Unfortunately, I had to work late last night so, there was no time left for excercise. Got through my usual 25mins this morning before breakfast but, its getting harder now as its dark when I get up which I struggle with psychologically. Going to go and do an hours cardio after work. Stepper & stationery bike I think...

The protein supplier I usually use has increased their prices so, I have had to shop around. Managed to find a good deal on banana flavoured whey this morning. 2.5kg for about £30 :D
 
Couple of months I expect.

Did about 60mins cardio at the gym earlier and then, on the drive home, some idiot drove into the back of my beautiful car!! The rear clam is cracked so, it will probably cost at least a couple of grand to get it fixed!! :mad:

Not a happy camper atm...
 
Thoroughly enjoyed my workout for the first time in ages today. Starting to increase the weights again and getting close to where I was before my break.

I'm not usually a fan of people offering me advice in the gym but, some guy (who was HUGE) gave me a few pointers on my squat technique and I really felt the difference.

I'm going to start using straps for shrugs as my grip strength needs some work and I've not really been pushing my shoulders enough.

Overall though, very pleased (but will ache alot tomorrow!)
 
25 mins cardio before breakfast. Chest & arms today - a lot of increased weights which was good. Felt a slight twinge in my lower back doing V crunches so, skipped the final set (due to deadlifts on Saturday perhaps?). 30 mins cardio afterwards. Feel like I'm pretty much back on track now.
 
Fasted cardio as usual. Banana whey arrived today - very tasty! Concentrating on eating very clean this week.

Might do some HIIT after work.
