Chris B's Weekly Weigh-in

Hi All!

Hi Tempest! Congrats on starting your diet! Your right eating out is really tough at times. When we go eat mexican I usually stick to a taco with lots of salsa! Remember salsa is good for you! If I get a salad, I use the veggies and dip them in the salsa, it virtually has no fat. Its great that you are going to the gym and walking with your spouse, we need all the support we can get. I've never had a zone bar, but I eat the atkins....but Im running out. I was going to go shopping and see what was on the shelf. I usually do some kind of breakfast bar & coffee in the AM--Since I wasnt really used to eating breakfast. They're pretty satisying and usually hold me over till lunch! Cant seem to get much water in although? How bout u guys? Cabana

I really like Zonebars. They've got 210 calories, 7 grams of fat, 21 carbs though, if you doing atkins, but they carry me over nicely until lunch.

The Fudge Gram and Peanut Butter ones are my favorite.

BTW, I was good at lunch, we went to Snuffers, a local burger joint, and I got a grilled chicken salad. :D

Chicken and more chicken!
I'm not doing atkins, they just have fewer calories and carbs. So that helps!
(I had a chicken breast with fruit for lunch:rolleyes: ) Now the big dilema whats for dinner? I hate Fridays, that means over the weekend ill have to go home and cook 6 meals for my family and try hard not to indulge.... Its so much easier to stay focused at work...

Absolutely, I totally agree. Its *way* easier to be good at work, because everything is a routine. I struggle during the weekends too, don't worry. :p

Im not on Atkins...so maybe I will give those Zone bars a shot. They would be easy to take with me so I wont be so tempted to eat out when I am out and about.

Congrats on being good at lunch. I love chicken with salad though....sounds yummy!

I agree with the weekends being much harder. Supposed to be rainy here this weekend too.....boooooo!!

I did pretty good this weekend.

On Saturday I had a turkey and egg crepe and a few roasted potatoes for breakfast. A grilled chicken breast and brocolli for lunch, and a grilled chicken wrap for dinner.

Today I've had 2 zonebars and I went to the gym for an hour.

Tomorrow's weigh-in day, I can't wait! :D

I'm down 4 lbs this week!! :D

I'm definitely on track for getting to 210 by March 11th. I just wanna fast forward to May and have all of this weight gone! :p

You Can Do It

I know exactly how you feel! :) I'm weighing in tomorrow too! I think I've gone down another 2 lbs. Just losing gets you so motivated and anxious! My goal is supposed to be met by March too. The way things are going, it looks like I will easily meet my goal too--maybe more, wouldnt that be great! I havent been this motivated in a long time! The last time I was on a diet for over 1 month was in 1995 when I got married, over 10 years ago. I want this-and I feel good about this-That's how I know I'm going to succeed! WERE going to succeed! Good luck on weigh-in! Till later...Cabana:eek:

Question?

Hey All,
I usually do my weigh-in early in the mornings-right before showering? Do you see much a fluctuation of weight throughout the day? Ive heard this is normal, just wondering if everyone else experiences this?

Thanks Cabana, and thanks cmsstewart! I really appreciate it!

Also, Cabana, to answer your question, yes, I always weigh myself in the morning, after my shower -- because my weight fluctuates all throughout the day. This is why you should pick a consistant time to weigh yourself.

I also only weigh in once a week. Doing so more often might lead to discouragement, ya know?

Last night was *really* tough for me. Since I weighed in yesterday morning, I was really tempted to cheat last night. I was craving Wendy's badly. I made the drive up there, but I only left with a baked potato.

And, once I ate that, I was fine -- the cravings were gone. Besides, its just not worth it to cheat. Previously when I've dieted, I've allowed myself 1 cheat-night a week. This time, its just not worth it. I'm eating right and going to the gym. By cheating I'm only creating more work for myself.

...and shoot, I just realized that I forgot my gym cloths today. :( Maybe I'll go later on tonight.

Isnt that funny how if we have a "cheat day" we feel that more exercise will make everything alright? (It kind of gives us a chance to redeem ourselves) :D
Oh, Wendy's is advertising this new spinich salad-I had it the other day for lunch and it was real good. I just asked for the light ranch dressing and used about half a packet. (I do the dip your fork in the dressing thing) instead of putting the dressing on my salad. I've kind of gotten used to eating salads without hardly any dressing. But it also helps if you have a large variety of things in your salad to flavor it up.

Anywhoo--I didnt weigh-in this morning because I was in a frenzy. My husband bougt me a past, present, future ring last Mothers day, and I guess with all the weight change, I lost it! I woke up this A.M. and it wasnt on my hand! It was kind of loose to begin with, but not enough to fall off. I didnt even think about watching it now that I started dieting. He's going to throw a FIT! I normally take my rings off before bed, but for some reason I didnt last night?!? NOW, I cant remember when I last had it on
So wish me luck. I'm going to be looking like a mad woman today.....:)

Oh, and tonight don't forget to get that workout in!!!!:)

I'm really sorry you lost your ring! :O It might be tucked away in the sheets some where.

I've lost my ring before too. I swung my arm out for some reason and my ring flew off, and I heard it hit something on the other side of the room. It took me 2 days to find it. :p

Good luck! :)

Wendy's only means one thing to me.....Frosties!!!! Which helps explain why I am in the process of having to lose weight. lol.

I lost my ring once too. It was right after we moved to a new house. In the old house I had a certain place I always put my rings when I took them off, but didn't really have that right after we moved. I searched and searched and couldnt find those rings for three months. I was devastated. Then one day my three year old came up to me and she had them in her hands!! I was sooo relieved, but (and I know this is silly, but...) I was so nervous about losing them again, I didnt even wear them for about another three months!

I really feel for you Cabana. I am sure it will turn up. Hope you find itsoon!!!! :)

I made it to the gym last night! My wife brought my gym cloths up to my work for me. :)

We had grilled chicken alfredo and salads for dinner. I got the munchies *big time* around 11:00, but I fought it! It was killin me last night, but this morning I felt good knowing that I didn't feed that midnight craving. (which I usually do)

Keep Fighting Those Cravings...

HEY! You got a good wife:D Glad you got to hit the gym:eek:
We have a gym at my work, but it dosnt seem like girls go to work out much-(dont want to be the only gal around the guys) I really wanted to start some light lifting, but my lunch hour is the only reasonable "ME" time that I have to hit the gym. And we all know our lunch hours either fly by or we use them to run errands...maybe I just need to stop and JUST DO IT. Im <this> close to just changing my lunch hour and going either earlier or later to the gym here at work. Yeah, that's what i'll do

Mmmmmmmm alfredo sounds so good. Hey did you watch that episode of the biggest loser where they said that 23 strands of spaghetti is a serving? Can you imagine how many servings we would normally eat?

And I know what you mean about those late night cravings. They really push it sometimes. Keep some fruit or nuts around. They help ease those hunger pangs. Just be reasonable (dont eat the whole can of nuts):) I'm still trying to use up those nuts from Christmas. But I like knowing that I can eat them and that they are good for me so, I'll sit and crack a few up and kill those "munchies" cravings that we get!
Stay strong! Oh, no luck finding the ring, I think its gone for good.

Thanks Cabana, and don't give up on that ring!! :)

And yeah, now that I've been going to the gym regularly, its not so bad! I'm going again tonight. I get home an hour later than normal, but I usually just spend that hour sitting on the couch anyways...

People at work are starting to poke fun because I'm watching my calories and using fitday.com, but I think thats kinda cool, it feels SO much better than being depressed and bloated!

Lets keep at it Cabana, we're doing awesome. :)

Chris I just finished reading your diary :) you are doing awesome! I look forward to reading your continued success!! Kudos for having such an awesome wife that will walk with you and bring you your forgotten gym clothes. I know it' so much easier for me this time around having my fiance' supporting me :D Keep up the great work!

Thanks 2cute, having someone there for support really helps.

I'm still wishing I could find that "fast forward to summer" button. :) I think I'm going to have some "before" pictures taken, I'll post them on here. I think it would help me to see progress as well. When you see yourself everyday, you don't always see the progress.
