Danny, a lot of serious lifters prefer dumbbell press to barbell bench anyways. It makes you a lot stronger in the long run, plus you get a better range of motion. No downsides
You will notice that if you switch it to barbell after doing a couple of months on dumbbells that your bench is weaker at first, but the weight will climb like no other after a month on flat bench again Heck, I'm doing my sets with 245lbs now...2 months ago, it was at like 205 for my sets
