chest workout question

Hi

I recently started lifting weights and have a question about my chest workouts...after doing dumbell presses, and flies, dips and pull overs along with bench press my chest itself doesnt feel tight and sore the next day its the outter chest (lift arm to side its that muscle that goes from chest to shoulder). my inner chest never feels tight and worked out, am i not doing the excercises properly or is this how it should feel?

Soreness is not a necessary indicator of a successful workout. Often I will perform a balanced, well executed weight training regimen with no soreness afterwards. Equally as often, I will perform the same routine and feel extremely sore the next day.

Several factors contribute to soreness: Intensity, weight, volume etc. Make sure that you're pushing yourself to, or close to, failure with all exercises. Be sure that you are executing the exercise with flawless form.

The soreness that you describe, I feel often after chest work. That is in fact your pec. I find that flyes guarantee my soreness the next day, in that very location you describe.

Keep at, push hard, don't sweat the soreness (or lack thereof)

You'll feel sore for the first few weeks of lifting. I don't quite understand where you feel soreness, but after a chest day I never felt too tight ont he inside of the chest either.

cool, i was curious about the location of the soreness. just have never felt it within the inner pec area so was always curious thanks

It's a good thing you don't feel any discomfort in your inner chest as there are no muscles there - only organs. Pecs will feel sore between your sternum and your arms.
