Chest pain after benchpress

A lot of the time when I'm doing bench press or something similar to that I get a bad chest pain when I try to get up. It doesn't happen while I'm working out, but right after I'm done with my reps and I try to get up off the bench it feels like my chest is caving in or something. Like a ton of weight is being pressed into my chest cavity. I don't know if this is normal or not, but it usually only does it when I do heavier weights.

are you holding your breath? is this felt in the muscle? in the joints? deeper than that?

exercise induced asthma maybe? (I have no clue what asthma feels like, but I've heard its more than just 'short of breath')

Malkore I like your avatar do you play WOW?

But back to the point, yes I believe my form is correct, I keep my back flat on the bench and don't arch it. I breath but maybe I'm just not breathing correctly. It is not a pain in the muscle or joints its like behind my ribcage. It is a little hard to breath when I have the pain also. But it doesn't just happen when I do bench press, it also used to happen when I did T-bar rows and I would try to get off the part you lay on I would get the same pain.

Yes, I play WoW.

I would go see a doctor. it sounds like you're either getting some kind of internal organ pain (lungs, or heart), possibly because the ribcage is compressing those organs, or possibly its some kind of mild exercise induced asthma.

I doubt its anything serious, but its something you should get checked out in case you need an inhaler or something.
