I finally have been 148 or 148.5 for the last 3 days!
I am so pleased to have broken through the barrier that was the 150s.
It's hard to post both here and at SparkPeople...it all takes time.
I have been under on calories the last 2 days.
Last night all I wanted for dinner was cold cereal.
The night before we had halibut, and that's not bad for "meat".

I keep on trying, and it's working!!:)

Monday, April 30, 2007

Well, I hit my low number again yesterday: 147.5.
I didn't weigh today, because yesterday was a crazy eating day: at other peoples' house for a big lunch and guests for dinner. I didn't want to get depressed over the scale. I'll wait until tomorrow.

Yesterday at lunch we had prime rib (I took a piece that looked about 4 oz), mashed potato, gravy, asparagus, beans with french fried onions, squash (made with raisins and walnuts and probably butter), then ice cream for dessert. I passed by the fresh baked cookies, since they were passed around the table rather than served.

For dinner, we served broiled chicken breast with skin & ribs, spinach salad, asparagus (on sale this week!), and a rice, bean and bbq sauce dish. No dessert.

I'm trying to mildly suggest healthier eating to my family members. I worry about the tendency to overeat. One of my daughters loves food SO MUCH! She also loves desserts, which she will make or buy. She loves chocolate, too. So far she has managed to avoid being Fat, but she is so active in sports that she burns a lot of calories. We all know that we can't continue to eat the same way we could when we were teenagers without gaining!!

I'll try to be an example without being a nag. :)

I'm back from a big weekend outing with other families. We all took turns cooking meals, so I didn't have the control over my food as much as I usually do. The meals were all served buffet style, though, and I tried to be careful...AND...I didn't gain weight! In fact, I weighed in a half pound lighter than my low weight! We did play frisbee and walk on the beach, so I got some different exercise.

:)

Yesterday's food:

Oatmeal with raisins
2 pc. leftover pizza
dried cherries
white wine
lemon popsicle
store bought chicken & rice casserole
broccoli with ranch dip
I haven't weighed today. Yesterday was 148 solid...my body fat is a little less, though (I'm not posting THAT!!).

Thursday, May 17, 2007

I'm definately below 150 for good now! I seem to be staying at a solid 148 as my high weight now. I've been down as low as 146.5. Very cool.:)

Mike is in California to move his dad to a rehab facility close to his home. It's a tough move with a guy in a wheelchair with a neck brace that only has feeling in one arm. Tragic.

The kids & I ordered pizza the first night Mike was gone. I had a sub sandwich, but it has melted mozzarella on it and a great big loaf type bread...

We got a new Barbeque, so we will be having meat off of it. I will try to buy lower fat cuts so it doesn't cause me to gain!

I'm busy with kids and yard. I'm still walking around the block with my dad. I mowed a little bit of the lawn yesterday, so I think I burned some calories.

I'll try to make a dinner decision for tonight. My older daughter won't be home as she has a double header about an hour away. Who knows what time she'll get home?

I'm doing well on getting water, and the most pleasing thing is that I'm aware of my food intake without being too obsessive.

Back on track.

I sure need to get back to posting my calories. Sometimes it seems to take more time than I'm willing to give it. I know that it helps me stay careful in my eating choices.

Yesterday's food:
Oatmeal with raisins
lean cuisine lemongrass chicken
lemon popsicle
bbq pork
rice
peas
south beach peanutbutter bar

I think there was one other snack, but I can't remember it.
I got my water. I think I automatically get enough now.

I'm going to go weigh now...

Wow it's been awhile.
AND I'm still on the same weight number. Oh well, at least it's not higher!
I need to plan out some dinners that are good for summer. The soups just don't seem to be right for warm weather. I also don't want to do salads, because I never seem to get full on a salad. I think I give up on chewing before I get full!!
Last night I ate real poorly. I had snacks of lemon popsicle x 2, leftover steak, large muffin (which is really like cake!), ...?
Crap.
Today I've had leftover beef and oatmeal with raisins.
I'm going to have a lean cuisine frozen meal for lunch. Just need to plan dinner...
Onward!

I'm trying for 145 by the 21st! The first day of summer and our 22nd anniversary.
I've got to get serious for the next few days. My daughter made brownies this morning, and my husband made Giant Pancake...it has lots of butter in it, and syrup goes on top. I'm going to have oatmeal.
I think I did okay yesterday in spite of steak at Mom & Dad's yesterday for father's day. We'll see when I step on the scale today!
Three days to really watch it.
Here's to determination!!

Wednesday, June 20th

Yee Haw, Juliette!! You are getting there...I feel like you that it may take another week or two to get down to 145...I go so slowly, but remember that it took several years to put it all on!

I'm always amazed that eating an actual 3 meals a day keeps me within calorie range. We have a niece and nephew here for a week, and that has tightened up our schedule. We have to feed them, afterall!!

I'm trying to get back into this calorie counting thing...and now we are going to be away for a 5 day vacation. I will make a real effort to watch it!

I'm still 146-147. Hopefully I'll break through to 145 soon. I really want to, but that fresh strawberry ice cream...well, I guess I only had ONE serving!

Fresh corn on the cob and baked potato with steak was our meal last night. I only had about 2 oz of steak.

After 5 days out, I'm back to 148. That's not too bad for so many meals out. Our nephew rolled the truck S-l-o-w-l-y and ended on its top. We've got estimates and stuff to deal with...and it made for an interesting weekend.

My family plus 2 other nephews are headed up to our family lake property for a week beginning Sunday. I'm staying home this year, and I'm wondering if I will be able to lose some weight while they are away.

Happy Summer!

Alone again!

Yee Haw!
I'm alone for about a week. What a relief and what beautiful silence. Nobody leaves stuff out, no laundry, no meals...(oops!!)

I'm working on not eating crazily after 10 p.m. It's a bad habit that needs to go.
Today I've had

Mocha
Turkey breast

plan for later:
Lean Cuisine
wine
dried cherries

and later:
maybe more turkey breast

:)

Well...a crazy summer is still in swing here. We have company still today. Cousins from Hawaii & family. 3 adults & 3 kids. It makes for a crazy household with the grandma having alzheimers.
I've eaten lots of stuff I shouldn't have in the last few weeks as I haven't been the one responisble for the food. Sometimes I kind of give up and just eat. I'm hoping to do better in the school year by having more control.

Back to Hawaii!

It has been about 6+ months since I posted!
I have been on SparkPeople for my healthy eating encouragement. This seems to be easier to diary in though.
We are going to Hawaii on Thursday, and I am over 10 pounds lighter than last year. I do wish it were more, but I need to focus on my victories. The weight is coming off s-l-o-w-l-y. BUT I keep trying.
