Jen and I were just talking about this...
I didn't make any progress this week. However, I didn't take a step backward either. I'm right where I was last week. But, that's ok. I didn't make progress but I didn't lose any either. I'm not super happy about that, but it's better than taking a step backward.
Game plan? Just work a little harder next week and keep moving forward.
Side note: The kids start school on Tuesday. I'm half-thrilled because then they'll be gone all day and the house will be quiet...
...and I'm half-pissed off because I'll be getting woken up super early every morning when they get up and ready for school.

So, I'm at work right now and I'm bored. See, when we work weekends we work doubles, so I'm here all day. Now, my coworkers do nothing but complain about how busy they are, but I almost always get my entire weekend's worth of work done on Saturday. Meaning, Sunday is almost always boring for me. Hence, why I'm on my phone right now.
SIDE NOTE: I got a new phone the other week so I can finally do cool stuff like look at cat pictures while I'm pooping. My old phone was a dinosaur so I could never do stuff like that. Man, was I missing out or what?
Anyway, I'm bored. And, I'm in an 'I want to have fun' mood. I want to go home, be goofy, be playful with Jen, fart around with the kids a little, maybe have a fun night with some treats or something, just have fun. School starts for the kids in two days and, when that happens, everything changes. So, before it does, I guess I just want to have fun...before almost all forms of happiness get ripped away from us by the grueling, soul-crushing, day-to-day shitstorm of getting up early, taking the kids to school, picking them up, doing homework, hearing them whine and bitch about said homework, etc. I'm HOPING for a decent year, but, with our kids? You never know. You just...SIGH...never know.

And didn't you say you were going to start getting up early to workout this week?...sooooo wouldn't you already be up when the kids go to school?! Hmmm.....

Isn't that the one that's getting recalled? That's one phone (firebomb aside) that would get me to leave my iPhone. Though probably not - I'm not a loyalist by any means, I just know how to use an iPhone.

I still don't understand how phones blow up. Sometimes they're not powerful enough to get a decent signal...but they can blow a hole through your penis? That's where everyone else keeps their phone, right? Tucked in their underwear, snug against your sack?

So, Jen's had her surgery, the kids are back in school and life is slowly, but surely, getting back to normal. She's doing ok. Sitting around on the couch, aching a bit, but doing ok.
This week has been another "maintain" week. Stress. I won't even deny it. Once again though, given the circumstance, I'm taking it as a victory. It's not every week that I'll have to deal with my wife having a potentially cancerous growth removed from her body, so I'm not upset in any way, shape or form with not losing weight this week. My mind is more focused on the positive things:
1) My wife is safe; whatever was growing inside of her is gone.
2) The kids are back in school and, from what I can tell, are already growing up a lot.
3) Did I mention my wife is ok?
Seriously, I don't know how well I did, but I've been trying super hard the past few weeks to not freak the fuck out over Jen's surgery. Inside, I've been in a constant state of...
But, now that the surgery is over and everything is seemingly ok, I'm feeling more like...
I have a three day weekend. So, I'm going to enjoy it. I'm going to sit around the house with Jen, relax and just enjoy myself.

Last night I told Jen I was in the mood to drink martinis and watch black and white movies. She looked at me like I was an idiot. What? I like me some cocktails and classic movies, ok? Well, I'm still in the mood for that, but I'm also in the mood to listen to music. Music is a big part of my life but, for whatever reason, I don't listen to much of it anymore. Pretty much only when I'm in the car. So, maybe that's what I'll do tonight - rock out and listen to some music.
Anyway, Jen is napping right now so I'm taking advantage of my time and listening to some music and, as I'm going through the thousands upon thousands of albums/songs on my laptop I am, once again, being reminded of how broad of a range my taste in music really is. I mean, dude.
