changing your workout

when people say to change your workout after a while does that mean to change the exercises and changing when you workout each bodypart?

usually change exercises. It's usually recommended for people who have plateaued in their training. It means theire bodies have adapted to the training. Changing exercises is usually enough, but sometimes people change the entire layout of their plan too. And if you're a newbie, doing a bodypart split might not be the best idea.

It means you are not making progress, that is getting stronger or leaner, or whatever you are trying to achieve. Changing your routine can be as simple as doing a different set and rep routine on the same exercises. For example if you have been doing 3 sets of 10 reps, change to 2 sets of 15 reps or 4 sets of 6 reps. Some people even change every workout, so one session you would do 2 sets of 15, next workout day 3 sets of 10 and next 4 sets of 6. Then repeat that sequence for the next 3 sessions. That way you are constantly "changing" your routine.

Being "sore" isn't really an indicator of an effective workout. As dswithers said, as long as you keep progressing then you shouldn't need to change. However I have read many times that mixing it up is the key so that your body does not adapt to any particular routine. As suggested it could be something as simple as changing up rep/set schemes and even mixing up time taken in between sets.

I always change my workout anyway, i never stick to the same things, probably a good thing in a way so my body gets more variation :)

I haven't really noticed any gains after working out for 1 month i eat about 2600 calories daily. BUt I have noticed that Im a little stronger but nothings getting bigger.

always weigh yourself upon waking up, after going to the bathroom. prefferably nude or just in your boxers. If you weigh yourself during the day, all the stuff you have been eating and drinking will mess with the number.
