Well this is the first time i'm writing a diary out loud. I must admit that I do feel this will help in my goals and I really appreciate the fact that a site like this exist :)

lets see...My name is Carla and i'm 235lbs right now. I believe i have the perfect diet due to the fact that i consulted with a nutritionist before. I always thought dieting was starving and depriving yourself of the food that you really love which i had learned from my mother and by the way never worked for her either. Right now, I have a balanced meal( i have never felt so NOT hungry in yyyyeeeaarrrss..lol) although sometimes i miss the cheeseburgers and pizza, another part of myself thinks that if i don't go on a diet that it will just and i would have to try and lose more weight.

I'm still trying to figure out this site.lol..a little confusing but i'll ge the hang of it.

this is my first officially day...on this site typing but ok..i'll tyoe out my meal thing..lol

Breakfast
1 cup brown rice
5oz veggie chili
1tsp mayo
8oz soy milk
1 banana
1/2 cup cooked cabbage

Lunch
1 1/2 cup brown rice
5 oz veggie chili
1 tsp mayo
1/2cup cooked cabbage
1 banana

dinner
2 slices whole wheat bread
5 oz veggie chili
6 cashews
1 banana
1/2 cup cooked vegetable
green tea/no sugar

I know wats the deal with me n the veggie chili..but it tastes so good..i really need to stop..lol

One advice the doctor gave me was to eat more complex carbohydrates, to me the most complex types r one with the germ such as bulgar or green banana or like yam...anyone care to inform me?

Continuing...
my exercise regimen is kinda straight forward
1 hr tennis 3 times a week
2.5 hr at the gym - 1 hr aerobic exercise(dancing or w/e they have available)
- 1.5 curcuit training

yup yup

mmmmm.. thinking thats about it
I'm trying to get more work in the cuz i dont do this 6 days a week, i should really try for that if i want more results right?

right now i'm jus enjoying my time on the laptop b/c unfortunately a hurricane, Hurricane Dean is coming my home...(i live in Jamaica). I didnt get to succeed with my plan to work out six days a week. No worries. There is next week and also i bought some exercise DVD (belly dancing, hip hop, and a classical work till you drop dvd...lol) all in which i will try my best to use. My diet is still successful except i ate a piece of egg, which i dont think is too bad...right??...I promise not to do it again.:)

I'm happy to have found person's online that is or was in th same situation and i can talk u guys about it.

Hi there Carlitta,

first off, welcome to the WLF. :D I was going over your meal plan and it seems to be okay. Have you figured out how many calories you are allotted in a day? (If not, look at the "calculators" section on the site to figure out your BMR. This is very important.)

As for complex carbs, you may want to do a bit of research online. There are so many different types of comp carbs other than the ones you listed. (ie: legumes, spinach, wild rice, oatmeal.. etc etc etc) The importance of ingesting comp carbs is that they are high-fiber foods, which make you feel full for longer periods of time. It takes longer to digest than say, simple carbs such as white rice, white bread, fruit juice, candy, etc.

I will say this, your meal plan seems to be lacking in protein. I'm sure the veggie chilli has some, but if you plan to workout as you stated, you'll need more protein to recover and to help build lean muscle mass.

My diet is still successful except i ate a piece of egg, which i dont think is too bad...right??...I promise not to do it again.:)

If anything, a single egg contains about 7 grams of protein. Protein is a must if you're planning to exert yourself at the gym. Do a bit more research on your dietary needs. If you like, you can take a look at or even . These two sites will help you to figure out how many calories you need... proteins, carbs, fats, etc.... I use sparkpeople and love it.

As for Hurricane Dean, I'm hoping you and your family will be safe. Keep us posted. Good luck with your weight loss journey, Carlitta.

hey

well, everything i eat adds up to 1450 each day.
Its alot of food but it really works.
I actually have to measure out all the food i eat....lol...but i'm gonna check out ur sight though..thanks

As for the hurricane, nothing has really hit as yet, there is sum wind and the sun was shining.
We're praying that it will less than a CAT 3 right now

Welcome and Hello!

I agree with everything Sheryl said. Good luck through the Himmicane (Dean).

We'll be thinking of you!

Why do people keep saying this is their diary?

I thought this was the forum. I must be lost. I frankly do not know what our diary is? If no one tells me I will no doubt figure it our with time lol.

There is a forum called Weight Loss Diaries. You clicked into Carlitta's diary in that forum. There are countless other diaries that you can click into and you can create your own as well.

Its I

well, I'm back again, unfortunately, my exams n the holiday did the most damage for me. So i'm starting over, I must admit apart of me feels a bit discouraged but i must go on to reach my goal. I mean, Its my one and only life...so...what am i gonna do??...

School has started...this is the ...4th week of school

my diet is the same nothing has changed...

I've stopped doing tennis because my coach had his issues...

anyway, i started playing squash.
I admit i thought squash was going to be boring but i was proven wrong. The training definitely pushes you. I just hope to getting to that happy feeling i had but this time i want to see more changes, I'm not really sure if its my diet or the exercise...i like both but i want to see results a bit faster...anyway...i guess i see you tomorrow...

Hi Carlitta,

Welcome to the forum. You have started off with the basics by identifying a dieting and exercise plan for yourself. All you need to do it just stick to it.....no matter what happens....come what may.

As you said, this is our one and only chance to happiness and I assure you, if you stick to your weight loss routine for just the first week honestly, you will get hooked to it and feel all the more happy about it. All it needs is a little patience and realistic goals.

cheers :Angel_anim:
