Cate's last 40

Hey - so I decided to start a new diary. I haven't too much been writing in my old one (not since January- oops!), and I needed a change so here goes.

In August 2007, I weighed 215. I lost about 40 pounds by December, and I am stuck in the 170's - and have been since the end of December. I feel like, overall, my body has adapted to me eating (pretty) right and working out. It is getting harder for me. I know everyone has plateaus, but obviously I need to do something different to break mine. It is frustrating, and sometimes I feel like I am losing motivation.

I did Operation Boot Camp, a 30 day get-fit program in February. I actually lost about 4 inches around my stomach, and got down to 172, but crept back up again. Today I am 178. I am definetely more toned than I was in December. I am in a size 10, and I ran my last 5k in 33:19 in the SNOW (yes crazy I know, snow in Alabama :)). So, I mean, I see some changes physically but I want to lose the 2nd half of my weight.

Eating is the hard part. I am literally on the go 24/7. I eat lots of sandwiches, lean cusines, and salads. Occasionaly I break down and eat horribly, like fast food (maybe once a week)... I need to quit that. A grilled chicken sandwich (fast food wise) probably sitll has a gazillion calories. Anyway, I know I just need to quit doing that but urgh it's hard when I am so busy and it is right there.

Exercising is going really well. I feel like I am in the best shape I've been in since high school. I am working out 4-5 x per week. So, this is my new journal. I've got to write in it because I haven't been lately, and the weight is still there. Hope all of you guys are doing great!

So today has been a good day. I've eaten really well so far. I had a crandberry muffin with a water for breakfast, and a chicken salad sandwich for lunch. For dinner, I am planning on having grilled chicken and veggies. Yum.

I am also going to a weight-lifting class at my gym tonight at 5:00. Hopefully I'll be down by the end of the week. Glad I'm feeling good!

What methods are you doing exactly, I didn't quite pick it up. Calorie Counting?

I would say that I'm calorie consious... I'm not really doing any particular diet - just being very aware of what I eat, watching carbs, sugar, sodium, fat, and of course calories. I am trying to snack less, and stop when I'm full. I have tried weight watchers, the eat for life diet, and the low carb stuff. This is what's working best for me :)

My workout was so good tonight. I missed the weight lifting class, so I went and ran 2 miles on the tredmill, and did one on the eliptical. I lifted arm and leg weights. I'm telling you- those inner and outer thighs are a KILLER! But I feel good, and am hoping that when I weigh Sunday the number will be DOWN!

Be careful not to cut out too many carbs, they are an important part of the body's function as you know I'm sure.

I'm glad to see you're doing some exercising though! Great work! keep at it!

I think I was a dummy and wrote what I was doing incorrectly... haha.... I meant that I'm just eating better - I don't think those low carb diets work either :) as they are an essential part of the diet.

Thanks for stopping by my diary! I'm off to the gym (ab class- NO FUN!)

Also, today, I found out that I will be getting a breast reduction! SO EXCITED! I am getting it on May 9. I am a little nervous, because you can't exercise at FULL strength for 4-6 weeks after, but there wll be other things I can do. This will help my back/neck so much. It is very needed. Anyone ever get one?

Hi catie! Congrats on the weight loss and good luck in the future. Couldn't help but notice you are a Bama girl! Whereabouts you at? I live in Talladega myself. And of course the all important question. Roll Tide? or War Eagle?

Hey Edco! Thanks for stopping by to say hey :)! yes ma'am -- I am a bama girl... It's WAR EAGLE for me..what about you?

Well, I'm finally back to write. I need to do this. When I'm doing well, I'm posting on here.

I got my surgery. It took off 3 pounds! Haha -- yea! I am so happy I did it and would do it again in a heartbeat. I look so much more proportional. It was three weeks last Friday, so I'm halfway to one month. I can exercise -- but running is still very uncomfortable unfortunately. I can do the eliptical and the bike which are both great. I'm down to 173 and incredibly motivated. I've been to the gym 6 times this week - and feel pretty good about things. I even bought a baithing suit today and LIKED it! Woah!

Anyway...I've been doing much better eating. My main struggle, however, is my inability to want to eat breakfast. It is so hard for me. I've got to work on that b/c I know how important it is.

Well- more later (tomorrow hopefully). Hope ya'll are doing well!

Well I'm up a pound since I last wrote... I really have to get on the ball with things. Good news is that I'm starting the "summer 5k series" tonight . On Monday night I ran 3.4 miles without stopping, so I'm going into it confidently.

I ate breakfasat today. A cup and 1/2 of honey bunches of oats and skim milk. I was full which was good because I have been known to skip breakfast and over-eat for lunch. Ugh, for lunch, I went out with my girlfriends to a Mexican place. I managed to refrain from eating all but 5 chips. I ordered chicken quesadilas - the lunch portion- and ate half with no sour cream (and didn't eat the other half). I'm not going to eat until after I run tonight -- just continously drink water.

I'll update you after the race -- eek!

I'm back from vacation -- and guess what! I weight 170! I am so excited and more motivated than ever. I am being so strict with the diet, and exercising everyday. I am so busy with school -- but thought I'd write that little update :) hope all of you are well

Okay, so it has been a while and I am obviously not keeping up with this journal like I should be. I am doing pretty well. I am down to 170 -- but can't seem to get that 169 like I want so badly.

It's like I have this fear of eating too much, but I know I'm not eating enough. I am probably getting 600-900 calories a day. It's crazy - literally - my hunger just isn't there anymore like it used to be. I am eating power bars for breakfast, a sandwhich for lunch, and sometimes skip dinner but if I don't it is usually a sandwich as well or a bowl of cereal. I know this is bad -- with the whole metabolism thing -- (the skipping meals) but I don't know how to deal with this whole absence of hunger thing.

I am weird haha :). Any suggestions?
