Cate's Diary

Thanks, Em & Liza(& Llama). I had a good day. My cart is wonderful & drives like a dream. I need to get a couple of rear vision mirrors, especially for backing into my park & maybe some protective sheeting. I just fell down a rabbit hole looking for them & almost forgot to come back here. I will get some accessories for it, including a seat cover. I'll make sure of the make & model first.
I came second in the comp yesterday & had a nice day. I overheard B2 offering someone a ride in my cart before the game, while I was in the bathroom. I can't believe this woman. I will have a word with her sometime. I didn't spend that amount of money to have someone else think that it is not really mine, to do with what I want. I ended up playing with the woman she had offered it to & she wants to walk. She said she would get confused in a cart. I also played with T.
I slept like a log last night.
I really dislike a lot of things that the women do, especially the way they set up divisions when there are so few players. There are about 4 in the first division only & the rest go into the 2nd division, which makes for a very uneven distribution of prizes. Of course, B1 & B2 are in Div 1. It would be much fairer to split it up into 2 equal numbers or just have one division. I am trying not to say anything.

Not saying anyting about the divisions sounds sensible even if they are unfair (because it might get you sucked back into club drama) but defending your cart boundaries, especially at the start, seems like a necessity. The nerve of those B's!

So great! Sounds like you'll have some fun accessorizing it!

Wow-- I can't even imagine that!

Correct, Llama. I do not want to get sucked back into the drama. I definitely will speak up about my cart & establish my boundaries.

I will, Liza, but slowly & without spending much money.
Wow-- I can't even imagine that!
I was shocked to hear her say it, Liza. She thinks she's the queen bee.
I would definitely pipe up about the unfairness of the divisions but that's just me. :p
I find it very hard not to, Em but I will try.

It's bucketing down here, with thunder & lightning. Poor Arch. He can't settle. Our older son, D called in to pick up a takeaway lunch. I think I have found a way to see him more often. I messaged him yesterday to ask him to get us some more bunnies from his workmate & told him what was in the oven & he asked if he could drop in on his way to work & take a taste with him to work. Instead, he has a meal with veggies & I made him a pot of coffee. Just short visits like that would be lovely, more often.
I might start tracking my food again today on My Fitness Pal.

That's nice that D dropped by and I really hope your relationship with him continues to grow. It sounds like he has a lot to deal with with his own family, which might mean he's not as close with you as he wants to be.

I'll make more of an effort to keep in touch with D. I know he's busy & has a lot to juggle & he is worth any amount of effort.
I'm about to head out to golf. G & I are playing in a team event with 2 women. I wish it was I & T instead but someone else thought that they had arranged to play with them so we didn't want to upset the apple cart.

Thanks, Llama, Jojo & Liza. I can't say I really enjoyed the day. I offered a ride in my cart to A as she has a bad knee & she accepted. I can't say that I like her particularly (or P- even less) & G & I didn't enjoy their company much. It won't happen again. It's another game of golf though. It was really cold & I need to get some protection around the cart, especially from the wind. You need more clothing travelling in a cart. I will be able to play twice a week now though & will try to, even over winter.

I hope you find out how to make the cart nice and cozy...I like the idea of bundling up, and maybe having a nice warm drink along....
Too bad about the not great company. I guess it feels like the pressure's on a bit when you have a cart to offer people a ride-along. I know I would feel the same way. But yeah you should totally make the golfing experience you want to have--company and all...

Glad you got your cart and seem to like it so far.

I have a rainsuit I wear sometimes to protect from cold wind. It seals pretty well. And I suspect you get some rain in winter.

Wore my rainsuit on the Colorado River boat trip, even though it was a dry ride. Temperature was near freezing and the boat was right on the water and traveling at a pretty high rate of speed. The rainsuit was the only protection I had from the wind. After almost 5 hours on the boat, ~100 mile round trip, I was pretty happy for the rainsuit. And got to see lots of red rock canyon and petroglyphs.

You, my friend, are too nice. Playing twice a week would be lovely!
Thanks, Llama :grouphug:

I'll work it out, Liza & sort out B1. I didn't buy it for others.

I love it, Rob :)

I don't like feeling restricted when I play golf & love wearing stretchy stuff. Getting some surrounds for the cart will really help, Rob as it's the wind (& not walking) that makes you cold. I might go do some homework now.

I hope you find some affordable weather protection for your new assistant. Comfort may sound optional but it really isn't!

Thanks, Llama & Liza.
G asked D what model the cart is & if he could recommend a place to get accessories & he gave G the name of a place in town that specialises in custom-made canvas & clear awnings etc. He thinks they would even be less expensive than buying online. I'll take photos of my cart tomorrow & some measurements & go in there sometime soon & organise a quote.
