Casey's Diary!

See what I mean?!!

I like big thighs on men, too--my BF loves it when I pay attention to his legs--it feels good to him and his past girlfriends were selfish and not as giving as I am :p

LOL. My thighs have been the last place on my body I have noticed a change. They're slowly getting better though. They'll never be skinny (I don't really want that anyway) but the cellulite is slowly going away. I wore soffe cheerleading shorts to the gym yesterday and I never thought I would feel comfortable enough to do that, but I looked fine in them. the BF enjoyed it. :)

Good to hear Casey. :)

Stubborn body fat is a PITA, but not much you can do about it. Keep up the hard work and things will eventually go your way. It is interesting how it all actually works.

Thank you very much Steve! When I hit 150 i will post some new pics so I can show everyone how I'm doing. :) I have a picture of me in a bikini from last summer, and I think i have the bikini around here somewhere, so I might do a side-by-side comparison. We'll see.

The fat on my thighs is definitely stubborn. But I am losing that "I don't work out much" look. :):):):) Wonder why????

YAY! The cellulite is going away! That's really good news--for all the scientific research and amazing breakthroughs, they really need to work on a cure. Supposedly 85% of women have cellulite, overweight or skinny. One day last summer I saw a chick on the beach--she probably had a BMI of 19 or 20--but she was standing, and I knew it was mean, but I still thought, "Oh that looks terrible! She really has it bad..." To be so thin and to have such bad cellulite--I'd feel sorry for her now but at the time I was 156+ lbs and was embarrassed to be on the beach in my own suit, so I was meanly glad that my own legs and butt weren't so...rumply. Anyway, point is, fat or thin, cellulite is often a problem and the fact that yours is going away could mean you may not have any once you reach your goal--that is really lucky!!

And DO tell about your BF's thinking about your goals...I like to hear it

Yes, women's bodies seem to think (ok I know a body can't "think" per se) that thigh fat is the best thing in the world!

Same with men in the belly area too, on average. There is a reason for it too. Mostly hormonal and the unique types of receptor sites that attract certain hormones and the responses it has on fat cells.

Well, I could talk about my BF (Greg) all day. He met me when I weighed about 162, I was smoking, I was drinking all the time, and I was extremely negative. As I spent more time with him, I realized that I needed to change, not for him, but for myself. Over the summer of 2006 I worked out quite a bit (moderate workouts) but didn't pay much attention to my diet. He was ALWAYS supportive and always made me feel sexy no matter how much I weighed. He is really into fitness and nutrition and has an incredible body and I used to feel really initmidated by it. I felt like he should be with a girl who was in good shape.

Since I've lost the weight, he's been incredible. He compliments me constantly. He really looks out for my best interest...he doesn't want me shooting for a certain size or number but for the best health i can be in. He makes me feel great.

Just the other night I was trying to explain to him how much it meant to me that he treated me the same now as he did when i was 10-12 lbs heavier. He looked at me like I was crazy and said, "Well, you're the same person. Of course I wouldn't treat you differently." It really meant a lot. He's about 5'11", 175 lbs.

To answer the question (which I did not do) he is behind me on my goals but he has made it clear that he thinks I look great at my current weight.

I saw the OxygenFit "Glutes Training for Women" magazine when out one day last week. One of the articles has a doctor answering questions and discusses cellulite and how 2 women eating the exact same things now and doing the same exercises have a different cellulite look because of the fat stores created as a child. He said that "fat cells are created during childhood and after puberty the number of fat cells cannot be changed, they can be shrunken or plumped up" and a way to help reduce the appearance now, is by "CLEAN eating." He suggests reading a book which I can give you the title to, but I'm not endorsing it because I haven't read the book.

There are also lots of good glute exercises in the magazine as well.

Ahhh, it's a little more in depth than that IMO.

Yes I do!!! I'm a lucky girl. He's really into exercise too---not just weights, but running, soccer, tai chi, yoga, just about anything you could think of. He also is very interested in nutrition and reads up on it a lot. He's a great support system. :)

Thank you for the info photocrazed! It's quite the interesting topic. I'm okay if I have a little cellulite on my legs, but i want to eliminate as much as I can through my diet and exercise. One good advantage I have is that I'm naturally dark-complected so it isn't as easy to see.

Good God! A KEEPER!!

My own BF is a wonderful guy...however he has said things that hurt in the past--he's 151 lbs and 6', and has been since puberty. He doesn't understand how hard it is for some people to not be overweight. Part of the reason he is so skinny is he smokes cigarettes (a LOT) and doesn't really eat much. His bad habits perturb me. But hey! We're not married--it's his life, who knows how long we'll last, I'm in it for the moment, so no putting my foot down on anything...

Glad you have such a wonderful man. You're really lucky--there are a lot of A-Holes out there.

He's incredible. Best person I've ever met.

I ate some cupcakes at a celebration for work...three...but they were made with diet sprite instead of fat and oil, and were covered with low sugar/fat/cal cool whip. i feel kind of full and icky. it wasn't worth it.
