Casey's Diary, Part Deux!

Adeon----

A better question would be which Tae-Bo DVD's I don't have...LOL. I've got two old school VHS tapes (Advanced), Three boot camp elite DVD's (not even opened yet), a few boot camp DVDs (abs, lower body, cardio circuit, some more I can't think of), and a Tae-Bo bootcamp live DVD. I have Billy Bands...they're red. I LOVE them!

CG---I have been doing resistance work with bands...does that count???? I need to start doing it on a regular basis, but right now I'm just making sure I get SOMETHING done every day. Thank you for the advice! And thanks for the birthday wishes!

I didn't know you did a half marathon! Amazing! I can't imagine being that well conditioned!!! :)

I have the Billy Blanks Amped set. It is pretty good!

totally! I must have missed that DOI!:blush5:

Congrats on all the Ebay sales you are having. I'm really excited to finally start selling my shit on there, probably this weekend. I hope I make some dough.

Glad to hear you found yourself some cute clothes, and I do agree you sound a lot more positive about your body lately. Ideally, and according to all the fashion experts, we should dress the body we have NOW, instead of the one we keep killing ourselves to get. I, however, am guilty of buying jeans that are a little bit small for me, so it will be a big motivater to get into them. I do want to lose more weight, absolutely. It's just taking me a bit longer than I thought it would...

American Eagle, I thought had some good stuff for guys this year. I don't shop there that often anymore actually but a few months ago I found some cut-off jeans shorts there for men that were distressed too, and I love them.

-Sam

I love American Eagle jeans...I've been wearing them since I was about 16. There have been some periods when they've had weird cuts and they haven't fit me as well, but the last 2 years or so they've been great.

I feel great today...wearing a low-cut top that's navy blue with baby blue polka dots. AE straight-leg jeans and Sperrys. I just feel like my clothes fit me well and I feel sexy! Woo hoo! I ran 2 miles before work this morning. I took yesterday off and had an awful day...I think I'm just gonna have to do this early-morning running everyday. It just makes me feel awesome.

I think I am finally getting my tongue pierced this evening...wish me luck! I'm going home to see my parents on Sunday...they are going to be SO PISSED! They are very liberal but they hate tongue rings. Oh well! Tee hee.

The half-marathon was really fun. Training was not as intense as most would think---I ran 4 days a week...did between 3 and 6 miles on my weekday runs and had my long runs on the weekend. It's crazy what your body can do if you just push it a little. A half-marathon is an amazing experience, and anyone with a little intestinal fortitude can be successful in one.

Good luck with the tongue ring! :D
Thanks for the pep talk, I shall definitely look forward to the Rock n Roll Half Marathon, too bad the training program I have has The Dreaded HIIT :reddevil:

How's the new tongue piercing? I hear ya on the runs. On the days I do them I feel so much better and the day just seems a bit nicer.

-Sam

I got my tongue pierced Friday night! Very little pain. It's been a little swollen and sore but everyday it gets better! I'm so glad I did it...it makes kissing and other things very interesting!

I also found out I have gained about 25 pounds in the last year. I looked at the scale at my doctors' office on Monday. I am surprised, but at the same time I'm not. I eat lots of things that I used to stay away from, especially fast food. I am starting today on a totally new eating plan.

Breakfast-1 cup skim milk, 1 packet Carnation Instant Breakfast, 1 banana

Snack-apple slices or other fruit

Lunch-tuna sandwich on whole wheat (no mayo, just honey mustard), 1 serving pretzels, 1 serving mixed veggies

Snack-oatmeal

Dinner-2 salmon patties or 2 fake chicken patties with veggies OR 2 cups whole wheat pasta with 2 servings spaghetti sauce OR 2 servings Raisin Bran with 1/2 cup skim milk

I have gained a lot of weight in the past year. I want to be at a healthier size. I know I can achieve this...I just have to be consistent. I went grocery shopping last night so I have all the food that I need. Wish me luck...I need lots of it.

Ohhh! Sounds like the tongue piercing is fun! I bet the bf enjoys it as well! :)

Looks like you have a great menu planned out for yourself! Congrats!

Boyfriend is enjoying my tongue ring as well...he says most things feel the same but some things feel a bit different (wink wink!). My tongue is still a little sore and swollen, though. Cold water helps a lot, and so does Advil.

Feeling good...sticking to my plan! I plan on eating oatmeal when I get home and then having something tasty for dinner....either pasta or salmon with veggies. The past year has been a very tough one, as most of you know. I feel like I can finally bounce back and become the "old Casey" again...the girl who was committed to exercise and nutritious eating. I have gained 25 pounds in the past 15 months. In terms of weight loss, I'm not sure what my goal should be yet. I'm going to follow my healthy eating plan and get exercise everyday and see where it takes me. I KNOW I can do this. I've done it before, and I've matured a lot since then.

You CAN do this, and you are well on your way to the "old Casey". Although I think this Casey is great, too! You have matured and have grown so much! Plus, you sound so much happier! :)

I've heard other things are very fun with a tongue ring! :D

I bet that new tongue piercing is a lot of fun :sifone: LOL...

I'm totally on board for a new eating plan too. I'm mostly just counting calories for now but, I want to start incorporating more healthy items into my diet as well. Getting to the grocery store on a regular basis will help me I think. Your right, you can do this, and you have matured a lot.

-Sam

Thanks y'all! I appreciate the encouragement!!! :) Can't say that enough.

I stuck to my new plan yesterday and felt GREAT...not too hungry! I was barely hungry at all, actually. My meals and snacks were very satisfying. I think I've put together a great eating plan, if I do say so myself. I feel really good this morning...energetic, in a great mood, happy! I think the healthy eating has a lot to do with it. I feel like I'm on a natural high. It's hard to explain. I ran 2 miles before work this morning and it went really well. It's tough to run now that I weigh quite a bit more. I'm hoping it will get easier soon.

ME-OW on the tongue ring! I have yet to fuck with a hot boy who donnes one of those things, boo!

Hey, the weight gain is pretty shocking, 25 pounds is a lot, BUT it is absolutely doable and you're totally on point like a dart game with the running and the healthy eating. LUCK LUCK LUCK LUCK!!! Visualize, baby! :D

I got my ass to the grocery store and picked up some food to have on hand, finally!!! I had some before, but I was running out of the good stuff... I have been pretty good with my eating since Sunday, and most of last week, so I feel like I'm on a the upswing now. Most of the time the exercise comes easier for me than the whole eating clean part... It is going better this time for sure tho... I have been indulging in the greens some too lately but I don't feel as though it has really affected my eating too much, mostly just helps me really relax and decompress.

-Sam

Great to hear you have healthy foods and are getting some relaxation, Sam. I had some especially good leafy greens on Saturday night and felt great, LOL!

So...a big shocker here...I am STILL eating healthy and exercising a lot! I had some indulgences this weekend. Taco Bell Friday night, but following a healthy breakfast and lunch. Saturday I ordered a pizza but it was a small veggie pizza and I had three slices instead of my usual (about twice that much). I let myself eat a little more variety this weekend but made sure my calories were still low. It's funny...now that I'm eating healthier, even when I do allow myself an "indulgence" I crave oatmeal, fruit, and steamed veggies instead of fried food. I didn't get an opportunity to run this morning (forgot to set the alarm!) but I ran yesterday and I will just give up my Thursday morning, which I usually take off, to even it out.

Another piece of great news...I'm going to quit taking some of my medicine! I was put on a small dose of Seroquel earlier in the summer because I was having anxiety and paranoia problems. My doctor has ok'd me to quit taking it on a trial basis. Seroquel is notorious for extreme weight gain. I'm very happy to even try to get off this medication. Yay for me!!!!!

The last week has been absolutely fantastic, and I feel awesome. I'm finally eating the way I'm supposed to and I'm actually excited about it. Thank you ALL for your continuous support---25 pounds is a lot but I really feel like I can accomplish this.

Found these and thought I'd answer them!

1. How much weight do you want to lose?
Between 15 and 25 pounds...not exactly sure yet.

2. What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight?
I'd like to have a significant portion lost (10-15 pounds) by Christmas, I think. Not a big deal if I don't make it though.

3. How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)?
Eating lots of healthy stuff, eating healthy portions, and exercise. Running, Tae-Bo, yoga, etc.
4. Who or what can support you in reaching your goal?
Parents, friends, boyfriend, other WLFers...wow, I have a great support system :)

5. How realistic is your goal?
Very. I have gained weight due to unhealthy eating, new medications and lack of exercise. The weight range I'm aiming for is my "usual" range.

6. When will you start?
Started healthy eating and exercise last Tuesday! :)

Casey that's excellent! Glad you're getting off the Seroquel, I don't know how your doctor thought it would be a good idea to give you an anti-psychotic prescribed for schizophrenia and bi polar disorder, what the hell!! Shit, they could have just given you some Xanax or Valium to chew on if your anxiety was that bad! Still, drug free is the way to be :D
