Casey's Diary, Part Deux!

Running 5 miles is amazing. I'm hustling my butt just to walk 3.5 miles. I hope that's 5k because that is what I'm signed up for. It is wet here and takes extra determination to get out.

Hey I'm proud of you for training for that half-marathon that you did and I hope to succeed in my mission as well.

There is a 10k in April in Victoria, B.C. that has 10,000 participants. I'm thinking of doing that too. May as well pump up the volume.

Hoping to slim down.

Keep on running - do you include bursts?

Ben and Jerry's is an ice cream brand----it's kind of expensive but extra creamy and delicious!

Yes it is extra creamy and delicious! :drool5:

There's 3 pints sitting in my freezer thanks to the boyfriend. Not snacking on those is very hard!

I love, love, love ice cream, and Ben and Jerry's is amazing!!

Ben and Jerry's is the best!!!!

Kelly- I usually don't do bursts (I think they're also called fartleks). I hate speed training. I would rather push myself consistently over several miles. Good luck on your 5K! They're 3.1 miles.

Mmmm.... Ben and Jerry's.... So sinful and satisfying:drool5:

Your braver than me to go run outside. I must just be a big wuss but I can't run in the cold.

Hope your having a great weekend

-Sam:)

Thanks guys! I had an interesting weekend...my boyfriend is taking his Comp exam for his Master's degree this morning so he studied most of the weekend. I hung around the apartment a lot, which was nice.

I started my new half-marathon training schedule yesterday. I ran 7 miles. The wind was terrible! I felt like I was crawling. Not the best run ever, but I did kind of just jump into it. I'm still proud that I did it. I get today off and do a few short runs for the rest of the week.

Eating this weekend wasn't so great, but it could have been worse. I had Chinese two days in a row (did I mention I love Chinese?). But both days I just had a late lunch and dinner. I know skipping meals isn't good, but I woke up late both days. I still have plenty of healthy food in the apartment---salmon, brown rice, veggies, pasta, peanut butter, wheat bread/waffles, fruits and veggies. I'll do better.

Yesterday's menu (gotta brag a little):
Breakfast- 2 whole wheat Eggos, 1 cup choc. soymilk (280)
Lunch- 1 package Ramen, 1 serving apple slices, 2 tbl peanut butter (640)
Snack: 1 cup brown rice, 1 serving seasoned vegetables (200)
Dinner: 2 pieces salmon, 1 serving baby carrots (270)

Total: 1390. I'm going to be safe and say between 1400 and 1500. Yesterday I didn't run, so that's the reason the cals are a little low. I know Ramen isn't great for you, but it's cheap and one pack has less than 400 calories. I've loved it since I was a kid.

I'm supposed to run three miles today, but the weather here is rainy. Oh well, at least it isn't cold.

It's been amazingly warm here. We might actually reach record temperatures for the area. You still won't catch me running outside. Not yet anyway. I think I may try jogging on my mothers treadmill before I kill myself in public.

Hope the BF did well on the exam. Good job on yesterdays menu and best of luck getting those miles in today!

Thanks Emily! The BF said he thinks he did pretty well on his exam, but he's not getting his hopes up. I, however, am....I really hope he passes it so he can get his degree!

I have a mini-goal for myself....I have a pair of jeans I bought from Abercrombie and Fitch over the summer that I can still wear, but are a bit snug. (Size 8) I want to fit in them comfortably by April 1st. I can probably lose five pounds and achieve this goal. If I don't fit in them by April, I'm giving them away. These jeans are very nice and cost quite a bit of money so I'd like to keep them! Wish me luck! I know that doesn't seem like a lot of weight to lose but it's extremely tough for me to lose weight because I'm already in pretty good shape.

CompSci is difficult but the payout for the hard work can be fantastic.

As I've been getting closer and closer to my goal weight it's become harder to lose. I lost weight really rapidly in the beginning and of course at the time I calulated based on losing 3+lbs a week how long it would take me to reach goal. I should be at goal by now according to those numbers, but now I've come to realized perfection take time.:biggrinjester:

I've been eyeing a pair of LuckyBrand jeans at my local mall. I'm waiting until I get down to a size 6-8 before I invest in a pair of pants that expensive.

Emily- Maybe you have my boyfriend confused with someone else's....he took his Comp exam to get his Master's in Philosophy.

Oh, Comp refers to something else besides Computers here....maybe Comprehensive or Composition. I can see how it would be confusing. Whoops!

I found a pair at Marshalls that fit like a dream... for a few weeks anyhow ... they are the nicest fitting jeans... :) I miss them :D

Hahaha...! I thought you meant Comp as is CompSci! My BF is a Computer Engineer so anytime anyone says Comp-anything my mind goes straight to computers. :smilielol5:

Don't worry about it. I didn't explain it fully.

It's a slow day at work today....can you tell??? LOL.

Trying to figure out what to eat for lunch...I've got wheat pasta, bread and peanut butter, baby carrots, soups, frozen veggies, salmon, apples. I dunno....maybe Subway. A peanut butter sandwich with apples and carrots would be good. I would need an after noon snack if I went with that option, though. I'm bored...

I got all excited when I got to an 'average' size. teehee
I bought a bunch of clothes that no longer fit me. Pants mostly. Which is why I asked for them for holiday gifts. My mother picked me up some corduroys from Marshalls. Great fit but they're so high waisted. I usually buy petite. I remember shopping with BF a long time ago at Lane Bryant or somewhere like that and I told him I needed pants that were 'petite'. He looked at me and said 'sweetheart nothing in this store is petite. :biggrinjester:
Comedian...

I'm bored as well. The morning was slow but now there's a rush. I just don't feel like working.

What did you decide for lunch?
