Cardio or Weight training

Hi,

I am strart to do some exercise and am wondering how best to reach my target. I want to lose between 6 and 8 kilos hopefully of fat and build some muscle aswell. so Should I focus on losing teh weight first and then build up my muscles or vice versa or at the same time?

If you're a newbie, you can focus on your weight training and, with a good nutritional program, have good success at both losing fat and gaining muscle.

There are plenty of good programs that you can look at to get you started, both at places like T-Nation or elsewhere (such as the book "The New Rules of Lifting").

I'll second the new rules of lifting for a beginner. I just finished it, its a great book and a good reference even if you aren't a beginner.
